I wonder if other reviewers think of the same blurbs. When I read them, I think, “It's so obvious!” 😆

I loved the original and the sequel. Part 3 was a disaster (originally)! I'll always remember it as the game that introduced me to game-breaking bugs! I was so disappointed! I bought the Switch addition, years ago. Outside of some weirdness with the camera and building, it was a solid port. Never thought I'd play this game on the go!

@bosh In another article, I mentioned the lack of “excitement” for the Switch 2. I forgot it came out. The excitement for the OG Switch was palpable. I was told it wouldn't be the same since the Switch 2 was a continuation. Also, the library isn't up to snuff yet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's feeling this way. I'm seeing all of these amazing numbers, but they're not translating to life. I remember seeing the OG Switch everywhere. These days, when I see one, it's the OG Switch.

I started thinking about the Wii U launch. It was also quiet. I wondered if the Switch 2 was headed towards a similar era. It didn't help that I was getting A LOT of negative Switch 2 videos on YouTube. I never look for negative content on Nintendo. So, I was surprised by the recommendations.

Also, all the talk about prices and key cards. I thought about the launch of the Nintendo 3DS. Did Nintendo’s ego bite them in the butt, again? I guess it didn't.

Even with Switch 2’s success, Nintendo feels very different in this era. Not in a good way. And, I'm not thinking about prices or key cards.

This article makes it seem like Xbox is a person. Am I tripping?

Has there ever been any material that goes in-depth about the design of a Nintendo game? It feels like Nintendo is secretive about its games, and we get the occasional tidbits.

Every time I see M2, I think about VAPORWARE! I'm old enough to remember reading about it in magazines.😩

@electrolite77 @Doctor-Moo I guess it's the lineup. When the OG Switch was released, there was excitement in the air. It felt like Nintendo finally got it right. I forgot that the Switch 2 came out the day it was released. It felt muted. And it's felt like it ever since. I guess when the big games drop, it'll be a different story. I don’t think it’ll happen this holiday season.

Speaking of big games. I still don't understand the hype that surrounded Donkey Kong Bonanza. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I never understood the love for Reggie. He talked like a corporate press release. Yeah, he dropped some quotes that he knew the internet would eat up, but the dude was boring. Maybe I would like him if I were into memes.

Nintendo was always in the business of making money. But this Switch 2 era feels very corporate. To me, it started to feel that way towards the end of the Switch. They can surprise us with the Virtual Boy. Or show Samus with a bike. It doesn't change the overall feeling. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I'll be disappointed if there isn't a farming simulator, or five!

@MirrorFate2 I guess you’re a fan. 😆 Sorry. Interviews with old Rare employees. Any news on that game inspired by BK. Being added to a game or announcing new merchandise. There are always people whining about wanting a new game. It has gotten annoying.

@BonzoBanana I’ve always thought the UK was more into the PlayStation. From my perspective, since the days of the original Wii (when I started paying attention to weekly sales), Nintendo has done pretty well in the UK. However, their strongest markets were the US and Japan.

Honestly, I'm surprised by the success of the Switch 2. I forgot the system had come out the day it was released. Like you, I felt things were different. The hype was palpable when the Switch was released.

According to YouTube, nobody is buying it anymore.

This made me think about something. Wasn’t Nintendo working on a Quality of Life line? I remember something called a Vitality Sensor.

Something tells me the Switch 2 sells will disappoint EA.

The older I get, the more I sense deja vu. Layoffs. Studio closures. Pirating. Questionable decisions, leading to a shaky time. System launches and all that surrounds them. Just about any type of “controversy.” It all feels like it just keeps happening in some kind of cycle. Even articles about these types of events. And the comments under them.

They won't be able to keep these in stock. People already adorn their Crocs with cartoon characters.

Edit: I saw the word casual in this article. It got me thinking. Does Nintendo still promote to casual gamers? That was huge during the Wii years.

I recently watched this for the first time in years. I LOOOOOOOOVE this MOVIE!!!! Great film score, too! I haven't checked out the sequel, yet.

Edit: The fact that there isn't a dark ride, in somebody's theme park, based on the Pie Machine is CRAZY!!!

This made me think about The Plucky Squire for some reason. Has anybody played it on the Switch 2? If so, how does it look??

The hype, leading up to the release, felt bigger than when the system came out.

I saw the thumbnail, and for a second, I thought it was that game Everwild. I wonder if that game will ever see the light of day.

Honestly, I checked this site this morning. Only to feel shocked at what I saw. Today was the day! I'm not feeling the excitement. I felt the excitement, in the months leading up the the official announcement. I don't have one. I probably won't be getting one. Nothing against it. I think the OG Switch was my last console. But I still like to observe the landscape. When I heard about somebody not knowing it was out, I wondered if we could have another WiiU situation! Not as dire! But, in comparison to the first Switch. And throw in a bit of 3DS. I don't even feel the excitement online.

I wonder if it's Nintendo’s turn, yet again! Win a generation. Only to struggle with the follow-up. Due to hubris.

It might be premature to think this way. But this does feel quite for the follow-up to something that has gotten so much love. Even when it was showing its age and people wanted the next thing.

Throw in Nintendo being so successful at spreading brand awareness. They’ve come a long way from “NX” and Mario making an appearance at the Olympics.

Personally, this seemed like the best launch ever for Nintendo. In terms of offerings. A smooth transition. Anybody who's old enough remember, this never happened in the past. 😆

If Nintendo under performs. And the other two continue down the road they're on. No feelings of competition. Where would thay leave the industry?

@ear_wig If children are passionate enough, they'll still go for it. It’s like animation. Thanks to the internet, people know what to expect. It’s unstable and cutthroat. Doesn't stop people from wanting to make cartoons.

They make it seem like they'll have enough for people to casually stroll in and get one. And we know that won't happen!

People said, “I'm not going digital!” Digital sales have increased over the years.

People are mad about some of Nintendo’s decisions. But y'all will get used to it and move on with your lives. Same goes for the $80 games.

I remember when people were like, “60 DOLLAR GAMES!” 😡 This was going to happen, sooner or later. My question is, what makes people want to spend money on an Xbox? I know there's Game Pass. But Microsoft doesn't seem to produce must-have titles. At least, it seems to be rare. And everything else is on other consoles. But they're great at showing off fancy trailers, with a TBD release date!

It amazes me that Sony has started talking about the next-gen. The industry is in a weird place. Nintendo has been keeping up a steady stream of game releases. There was a time when Nintendo and drought, were a part of regular conversations. Sony used to be so good at keeping a steady stream of games coming. A wide variety, too.

The Switch 2 is the first time Nintendo is hitting the ground running. They're picking up where they left off. I'm sure ya’ll seen the article about past Nintendo system launches! 😆 And MICROSOFT! Wanting to get in the handheld business! How does that excite anybody?! They seem to have a pattern of releasing beautiful trailers. Followed by, TBA. And when they finally release something, it's very divisive.

Never could get into Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Virtual Fighter. It always felt like I had to study how to play. I preferred Street Fighter, and fighters like it. You’re always guaranteed to pull of special moves by hitting certain buttons. I felt like I had to study the moves for the other fighters.

I don’t get the hype. I watched the trailer. Meh. I watched a chunk of the Treehouse. Meh. All I kept seeing was DK smashing things. Looks like it could get old. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Once I realized what the trailer was about, I thought we’d see an epic looking 3D platformer. Something to take the place of a proper Odyssey sequel. Instead, I thought about that DS Mario game. The one with all the coins. Which I enjoyed. It’s the environment, being destroyed, that reminded me of that game.

Interesting how the Switch has boosted the popularity of this franchise. Twenty years ago, only the hardcore Nintendo fans would salivate over a Prime game.

I wish the universe would line things up for Sega to make a console comeback. And they take Microsofts spot. Then the big three get back to being strong competitors. And take shots at each other. It makes for a more exciting industry.

Its interesting seeing the comments on this site compared to Pure Xbox.

@Spider-Kev I live in Los Angeles. I was surprised to see so many GameCube’s on the shelves. Especially given how hard it was to find a N64. In retrospect, it's not that surprising. Nintendo had made some bad moves that hurt their brand. The N64 was on life support by the end of its run. Also, there was no sequel to Mario 64. That's what cooled my excitement for the system. Luigi’s Mansion was my first game. 👎 😆 Never finished it. The PS2 was my savior during that era! 😆

I've always felt in the minority on this. GameCube is Nintendo’s worst system. I still remember A LOT of systems behind the counter on launch day. This was a Toys R Us. I played mine. Repacked it. Had my sister return it. I was scared. Lol… I bought another one. I think when Sunshine came out. The only Mario game I've played and didn't finish.

I still remember somebody making a Zelda trailer. This was years ago. I think it was live action. I just remember thinking how awesome it was. I wonder if will Link talk.

Talk about a blast from the past! I instantly thought of early 90s gaming.

I saw the name of the game and thought about that game that was so poorly received that creator left the company. This was in the past year or so. I think it was a 3D platformer. Didn't it have a similar name? I feel like the character also had a similar look to the thumbnail pic.

@Clyde_Radcliffe If the man hasn't been charged, what's wrong with hearing from him? Even if he was “detrimental” to the industry. Hear what he has to say.

Silencing of people, based on allegations, has gotten out of control. And the climate has been used to take down many people, who didn't deserve it.

When did “sex pests” become a thing? 😆
