Finally the info I've been waiting on
Just got Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore out of it, which is also a double-dip from the Wii U version. Enjoyed it quite a ton on Wii U, so...can't wait to play it again on Switch
Europe info soon hopefully
A decent selection, though I already own most of the titles I'm interested in. Highly tempted by both Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Ni No Kuni however. I'll have to see if there are any similar physical deals first.
Eagerly waiting for Europe's discounts.
There are a few games that are on my wish list so hopefully they will have great discounts.
If you don't have Shovel Knight... get it.
Come on, Europe!
Nintendo UK store, physical 'black Friday deals'🤣. Laughable doesn't begin to describe it. They really have no clue,or are knowingly trolling
Come on europe.
@tyranexx i got Ni No Kuni a few weeks ago in the euro sale and im half way through and loving it. get it
I wish the Nintendo eShop allowed us to gift a game to somebody else
Oh sweet, the Torna expansion's on sale now. I still haven't beaten XC2 yet, but I still put a ton of time into it. I might have to get it soon.
@amanite1972 Definitely tempting! I would have picked it up around the same time if that discount had also been live in the NA eShop. (Didn't want to deal with the hassle of switching regions)
This is the second black friday sale for north america but none for europe??? they had lego games for £7 + a few weeks ago as well.Tempted to switch regions but didnt want the hassle of buying american etop-ups as well as euro.
When do we get our deals?
With the exception of the newer games, this is pretty much a repeat from Black Friday digital sale from last year. Doom, Diablo 3, Dark Souls, Skyrim , etc. had the exact same sale prices last year. Shouldn’t those games have a bigger discount this year?
That's the news I have been waiting for.
Do I finally try out Diablo III?
If Origami King was on sale, I would buy it. I plan on buying it anyway, I’m just not ready to play it.
For those in europe here is the nintendo store games discount.
try not to laugh too much.
https://store.nintendo.co.uk/black-friday/save-up-to-20-percent-off-selected-switch-games.list
put Monkey Barrels on sale, you cowards!
My wallet: Why am I hearing boss music?
@amanite1972
Surely the digital games will go on sale too...surely?! : (
Holy crap Twitter is upset, they're spamming Melee at Nintendo's sale...people seriously need to grow up and move on...
@Zeldawakening the wii had this feature and it was great!
I thought Fire Emblem Three Houses was going to go on sale oh well there are lots of other good deals here
Edit: Three Houses is on sale but not on Nintendo's website
Seven Sirens is on sale too! Between that, Katana ZERO, and the physical copy of Tokyo Mirage Session I grabbed yesterday, I’m pretty content as far as Switch games for now.
@outsider83 I ended up absolutely loving Origami King after initially being put off by the lack of a levelling system. It might be my game of the year.
@amanite1972 Honest question: Why would Europe have a Black Friday sale? Black Friday arose from increased retail shopping after Thanksgiving to prepare for the rest of the holiday season (and many people get paid on that day as well). Since Thanksgiving is a USA based holiday, why would one expect the same retail cues? I’m honestly curious.
@Ryu_Niiyama It's a recent trend, admittedly. Given the love for consumerism in Europe, it's surprising it took the retailers so long to latch on to it.
The Witcher 3 is also on sale in eShops in North America. 30% off.
@roxy_and_elsewhere Just what i was going to say lol.
hope we get some soon fed up of seeing the same ones reduced all the time.
TMS #FE is looking mighty tempting at that price, so does Link's Awakening. I would recommend Shovel Knight, as well (it's a phenomenal game). I was thinking of getting the standalone Golden Country, but it makes no sense since I own XC2 and the expansion pass costs a few dollars more than the sale price. Also, Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi's Mansion 3 look incredibly tempting. There are some pretty good choices, tbh. Heck, even the original DQ Builders is making me think twice about diving into the sequel instead.
@Nin10doh if you have someone or someone to play it with D3 can be a lot of fun. I’ve spent countless hours playing the PS4 version with friends.
@Ryu_Niiyama Because we buy stuff too, and have had black friday in the UK in some form or another for 10 years now. Amazon UK, Xbox, and PS have all started their black friday sales, and Nintendo have done European black friday sales in the past.
At this point it would be weirder if there wasn't a European black friday sale.
LETS FRAKEN GOOOOOOOOO
The bioshock collection is also 40% off. Didn't see that mentioned here.
I'm somehow surprised but not surprised that Fire Emblem Three Houses still hasn't gotten an eShop discount. Ever as far as I know.
I’ve already bought the physical editions of LM3 , Links Awakening , NSMB , Fire Emblem and Witcher 3 on sale Over this last week - with the Turrican collection coming out soon, I think I’m set for a while.
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen Ultra SF2 go on sale and it’s been out for years. Hmmmm
It's a pretty fair selection, but Nintendo is so far holding off on their real heavy hitters (Zelda: BotW, Odyssey, etc). I wouldn't be surprised to see them added to the sale in a future "wave", though, most likely toward the end.
And if not this time around, there's always the post-Christmas sale where folks can spend all those newly-received eShop cards.
Not enough of a discount on the things I am looking at... not for digital anyways...
@TimboSlice yea same here. Once I actually looked at the discounted prices I decided to hold off. XC2 had my attention but not for 40 when its 3 years old. I hear its a phenomenal game but still. Doom skyrim and wolfenstien shouldn't be $30 still either.
Crap! I was really hoping Little Nightmares would go on sale
@SimplyCinnamon53 It’s worth it at full price imo, but yeah, just wait for the next sale...
@NintendoByNature
I had XCOM2 physical but sold it pretty quick.
This is the first time that load times really bothered me and it was enough to make me just stop playing the game altogether.
Too many glitches.
I’d say hold off, to be honest.
Edit:
Oops! Hahahah! You mean Xenoblade2?! My bad...
@TimboSlice hahah I was just going to say. Where's he/she going with this? Why are they bringing up xcom2 lol
I will probably pick something up. I was hoping for Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition to go on sale. I played it originally on Wii U but never got to the DLC, so I'd like to get to that.
I'm surprised that even with 1300 items on sale, there was nothing I wanted. Granted, I have 200 switch games due to being addicted to sales over the years, so now there's nothing that really feels necessary for me to get. And the little that I'm interested in needs a huge price drop.
@Ryu_Niiyama Basically cos Walmart and Amazon are both American companies and they started doing it over here like a decade ago, and then other companies started getting in on the action, has been pretty massive for the last 5 years. It generally gets dragged out for 2-3 weeks.
How have I forgotten about Ni No Kuni?! I'll definitely be picking it up. Is it available physical too?
@NintendoByNature
I don't mind those for $30
Just wish they were physical
@SimplyCinnamon53
It is 75% off
@jamesthemagi oh my gosh it is!!! Thank you so much!
@Big_Fudge @Roxy_and_Elsewhere Interesting. Thank you for that information. Well here’s hoping Single’s day catches on outside of China. Such a random day to save money.
I’m extra broke (been buying games all month plus a third wiiu) but I may get a few of these.
Might pick up Mario Party, would've picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 if it was off a bit more, and have interest in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore but screw the censorship so it will go forever unplayed no matter the sale.
@SimplyCinnamon53
No prob
Enjoy!
Probably grabbing Crysis.
Shantae and the Seven Sirens is also on sale for those that haven't picked it up yet!
@Jbarnes101 Thanks for the tip. I might be able to convince the wife. The kids might be a tad too young for this just yet.
Doom 3 was a no brainer. Might pick up something else if I can decide.
As much of a dork for Zelda as I am, I've never been able to justify full price for Links Awakening when I know I'll beat in within a few hours and never touch it again. This might be as cheap as I'll ever find it for.
This is a great sale though. I've sunk hundreds of hours into Slay the Spire and can't recommend enough. It didn't even look fun to me at first, but I love it now.
Where is the Cuphead DLC?
I guess I'll have to wait a little more to get Clubhouse Games
But there are some good deals i might check out
I encourage everyone to get:
75% Horizon Chase Turbo
75% Unravel Two
75% Rayman Legends
75% Mario + Rabbids
75% Mark of the Ninja
75% This War of Mine
66% INSIDE
60% Moonlighter
60% Gris
60% SteamWorld Dig 2
60% Disgaea 1 Complete
50% Disgaea 5 Complete
50% Blaster Master Zero 2
50% Okami HD
All at an excellent price!
@Kreko You know how the new games every week are listed in their own article based on region? Same thing here, you can tell by the words '(North America)' in the title.
Hey guys, can anyone vouch for Wolfenstein II on Switch? Does it support motion controls, and is it best played in docked or handheld mode? If the port is up to the job, I may well (finally) bite!
Though I’ll definitely grab either Tokyo Mirage Sessions or Catherine: Full Body if they receive similar discounts on the UK eShop. My fingers are firmly crossed, but I won’t hold my breath.
Unfortunately, I missed out when The World Ends With You was 50% off a couple months back, so it’d be nice – if highly unlikely – to see it receive another rare price drop. But hey, with today’s TWEWY news, you can’t say it wouldn’t be nice timing for Square.
Ys VIII is also on sale for like 25 bux,
https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/ys-viii-lacrimosa-of-dana-switch/
@SlimPieEats Oh Ys VIII is a great game. I’d go as far to say that it’s unmissable at that price, especially if you prefer to play docked. I thought it looked much nicer on the TV.
@Franklin Oh yeah, I’d completely forgotten about the Cuphead DLC. Can’t be too far out now?
@Miyamotosan There was somebody (a fellow commenter) who convinced me to buy it. The reviews and people’s opinions had me on the fence. The comment and the fact that people seemed to not be to fond of the Wii entry (the only Mario RPG game I’ve played AND LOVED) convinced me to eventually get it. After seeing the comments on the Wii entry, I’m thinking, ok, so is it the game that people genuinely wasn’t to fond of? Or, do the fans want Nintendo to give them more of the same (the SNES version) with updates? I’m leaning more towards the later.
@SimplyCinnamon53 honestly i very rarely saw it on sale. I waited for it to go on sale for a very long time. So long thst i kept the money until i was able to buy it full price.
@Gwynbleidd i wouldn't, since most of my wish list is there. Lol
@Sszx09 I'm pretty excited for Ultra to be on sale. My copy was stolen awhile back, and I've been waiting to replace it. The wait is now over.
@Kreko there will be. It released in america first because of Thanksgiving. I would say come next week europe will get the sale.
@Franklin isn't it included?
@The_Pixel_King
Was supposed to be June I think. I guess Covid happened, but strange that they haven't made any announcement (that I know of).
Just picked up Civ VI physical from amazon for $9.99. Great deal and will be my first experience with a Civ game. Discovered it on Deku Deals, which was running super slow due to increased traffic from all the sales (according to a polite message on the home page).
@Ryu_Niiyama I work in retail. Honestly retailers started doing it as an opportunity and now consumers expect it. Sales tend to slow down in advance of it because people wait for the discounts to be announced.
It's a global thing. Same thing is happening with singles day (biggest retail day globally) - started just in China but slowly expanding to other countries.
@PhilKenSebben
Can’t believe the day is finally here it’s on sale lol. $20 is fair, I’ll pick this one up as well.
Now if only we could get a port of SF4 , how has this not happened yet. Not in the Capcom leaks either
Megaton Rainfall has FINALLY had a sale. I will finally get it. Also at long last Torna has gone on sale. I can get DMC 1 and 2 now for 50% off without being forced to buy 3 (though it's 40% off). Ayeayeaye I need some money STAT!
I’m surprised no one had mentioned Daemon Machina or The Wonderful 101. Both never go on sale. Thoughts? Thinking of picking them up.
Maybe even PGA as my tastes are varied.
@Remolution
Both are great games. DxM has gyro aiming, too, which is the game changer that actually makes it tons of fun. I don’t think I’d want to play it without Gyro.
Wonderful 101 is a gem of a game, though. It takes a little getting used to but it’s so good.
Sniper Elite 4 is also INSANELY good, but it just released and I don’t see it on sale. Maybe Sniper Elite 3 is though. That’s when the series started getting really great. Also Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel are superb.
@GregamanX oh Lord, I am addicted to sales too. I need to stop. Professional help or an intervention?
@Tyranexx use brickseek to see if ni no kuni is still on clearance at walmart and if any nearby u have it. i was able to get it for $10 a couple weeks ago but it had been on that clearance for a while by the time i got to it. i also had to ask an employee to see if they had it because there were no copies in the display case but they had a couple copies in the back
@foodmetaphors Hey, that's a good point! I didn't know Walmart had marked down the game so much. Certainly worth checking, though I've learned not to rely on Brickseek too much. Thanks for the heads up!
@The_Pixel_King I received Wolfenstein II as a gift for my birthday last year. It's okay. The story is pretty cool. The gameplay is okay. The graphics are good on the Switch. I can't remember motion control being in the game. It's not a bad game, but nothing special. If you haven't played Bioshock yet, it's better in almost every way.
Man I want xc2 so bad. No rupees for it 😞
@NintendoByNature I have the same problem (Torna specifically), and that game rarely goes on sale.
@MeloMan 😩. Why can't they be dirt cheap? I need to play it so badly after going crazy about XC:DE
All these articles about the same thing.
You really couldn't just write one saying the deals are about to end?
I see it was too hard to put the list in alphabetical order. smh
I overlooked Dragon Quest Builders, the first time this article was published. I was too busy looking for Origami King. I’m glad boredom brought me back!
Wow 7 separate articles about sales ending in NA, barrel well and truly scraped!
@dkxcalibur Thanks buddy! Much appreciated advice.
