Re: Exclusive: Oddworld: Soulstorm Release Date And Gameplay Footage Revealed

I remember when this game was announced. It seemed like … A LOT, for want of a better phrase. The gameplay. The character designs. And I’ve played a couple of past games. LOVED, Strangers Wrath. Actually … off putting. That’s a great way for me to describe how I felt, when I originally saw it.

It’ll be interesting to see how this will run on the Switch. From what I remember, there was a lot going on, at times, during the trailer. A lot of characters and action.

Congratulations on seeing this through. I had the original MM. I could never get into it. Way to hectic for me. It’s like playing a Marvel vs., fighting game. With the tag teaming and crazy combos, I could never get into it. I would play it and think, “I just wanna play a Street Fighter Alpha game, instead!” 😂

Re: Mario Movie Twitter Account Has Thousands Of Followers Before Making A Single Post

@RareFan so true. Their movies appeal to the widest audiences possible. Which means lots of typical crap. I loved the first Despicable Me. I liked The Lorax. If I remember correctly, I though Sing was, ok. But I don’t understand the enduring popularity of the Minons. I tried to watch the first movie. So annoying. DM2 wasn’t good. They make movies that shut children up and put parents to sleep. They’ll never make an Up, WALL·E or How to Train Your Dragon. Not that every movie has to live up to that standard, but it would be nice, if they strived for higher standards. And the public keeps eating it up. 🙄

Re: Anniversary: Picross S Turns 5 - We Doff Our Caps To Switch's Most Dependable Puzzler

outsider83

I have one of these games (Switch). The problem, for me, is that the rules to completing the big puzzles, can be confusing. And I’ve had Picross experience, going back to the DS. I also enjoyed the 3DS, game. And the one on the Gameboy. I think it’s called, Mario Picross. I usually have to use the tools, to help me solve the puzzles. Even then, I’m left confused. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Re: Nintendo Infographic Shows Every Title Featured In September's Direct

@steventonysmith NOPE! I have a backlog, like a majority of us. That doesn’t stop anybody from looking forward to future games. There’s a feeling of excitement, when it comes to being a gamer, when there’s, new and exciting, software, being announced. It adds something to this hobby. Things feel anemic, these days. I’ve never liked ALL of the big releases, from any generation. But there was usually something exciting, going on. The Switch era is feeling weird, these days. Maybe it’s because the first, couple of years, were so strong.

@Anti-Matter I’m glad that Nintendo is satisfying your need for farming simulators. But it’s a bit ridiculous, when you have a user base, of over, 100 million. A user base, that’s been clamoring for a Direct, for months.

Re: Nintendo Infographic Shows Every Title Featured In September's Direct

@Bolt_Strike when I say stuff like that, I get something along the lines of, maybe the announcements aren’t for you. But there’s plenty there. I know everything’s not going to appeal to me, but something feels off. It’s been feeling more like the end of of a systems, lifecycle, for a few years. If anybody says, things are fine, nothings changed, compared to the first couple of years, their delusional. It’s not exciting to be a Switch owner, anymore. I mean, all the farm simulators, alone! In one Direct! REALLY?! 🙄

Edit: also, I’m tired of seeing reviews, with cool artwork. Only to click and see, it’s a game that looks like something, I played, back in the early 90’s. 😔

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The Latest Nintendo Direct?

outsider83

What did I think? Never jump on the hype train.I’ve learned this lesson, MANY, Direct’s ago! Nintendo has announced, long Directs. Only for me to get bored, twenty minutes in. This was no different!

To see the media in a frenzy, prior too, was ridiculous. I expected lots of games, with an anime look. Games that looked like stuff I’ve played, back in the 90’s. I didn’t expect, anything, I saw the media go, on and on, about.

But there were some surprises. WHY SO MANY FARMING GAMES?! 😩 Way too many, RPG’s. Also, I expected a big game, at the end. But I was expecting a delay, until holiday, 2023. I’m tired of seeing Kirby. I used to like those games. I’m over them now. Nintendo didn’t show this much love, for any other franchise, during its anniversary.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. The industry has become a snooze fest. The latest, State of Play, helped solidify those feelings. Over in the world of, Xbox, it feels no better. Basically feels like, “just wait a little longer.”

At least Goldeneye is coming out. I’m not excited about that. But at least people can, shut up about it. Let’s see how they feel, once they play it. N64 era, has not aged well. Now if Rare would make a new Banjo and Kazooie. Not that I want it, but I’m tired of hearing people talk about that, too!

Re: YouTuber Ends Metroid Prime Music Covers After Nintendo's Lawyers Call

Articles like this, is why I was happy about the dude (in the other recent article, about piracy), being able to have his freedom. Also, why I don’t care about people successfully pirating some games. The majority won’t buy them, anyway. Countless times, we’ve heard about a crackdown on people pirating their games. But, they operated while Nintendo was making record profits. People can’t even make tributes to Nintendo. 🙄

Re: New Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Lets The Blue Blur Show Off His Combat Skills

outsider83

@HammerKirby yea. I don’t remember any enemies, being that much of a challenge.

@Mana_Knight RIGHT! Thanks for reply! I’m having flashbacks of playing SA, years later. I booted up my Dreamcast and wanted to see how it played. By this time, we were far removed from the DC era. I remember being annoyed by the pace. Moving around in that resort, wasn’t as fun, compared to back in the day.

Re: New Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Lets The Blue Blur Show Off His Combat Skills

outsider83

@Fizza ok. During Sonic Adventure, you play as more than Sonic and Tails. Actually, I don’t remember if you got to play as Tails. But you played with Amy, Knuckles and some cat dude who liked to fish. But if their included, why wouldn’t Tails, right? 😂 It’s been fifteen years since I’ve played it. Moving on from my bad memory! 😂 I remember the gameplay slowing down, not only with the other playable characters, but with Sonic, as well. He had to move through a beach resort. Ride trains. When you played as Knuckles, it was very heavy on exploration. But his abilities made it fun. The cat dude went FISHING, for Pete sakes! 😂 I don’t remember what it was like to play with Amy.

Re: Review: Disrupting The Game: From The Bronx To The Top Of Nintendo - Reggie Fils-Aimé

outsider83

@gcunit I’m curious about your comment. Can you explain why you feel that way? I’ve always been baffled by his popularity. I never see anybody say anything other than how they like him,

I don’t think he’s a bad man, he was just a boring corporate figure. Everything he said felt so scripted. Even his viral moments. I always wondered what he was like, once he got home.

Re: Ex-Rare Devs To Give Talk On The Development Of GoldenEye 007 (UK)

outsider83

@Williaint I still remember seeing beautiful screenshots, in EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly, just in case 😊), back in the day. I remember thinking about how beautiful they looked. And being just as impressed, once I got to play it. The city streets, with rain. I loved the multiplayer mode. Great for a child like me, who, most of the time, didn’t have anybody to play with!

Re: Random: New Disney Pixar Movie 'Turning Red' Makes For The Perfect Super Mario Mashup

I miss the Pixar from the 2000 - 2010. I remember when the discussion for a new Pixar movie was, can they pull of another weird idea. Not only have their movies dipped in quality, they have a Buzzlighter movie coming, and it’s turned into a “woke and woe is me” feast, over a kiss. Toy Story 4 and Inside Out, we’re the last movies I’ve enjoyed, from Pixar. They felt the closest to the era I love.

I was heartbroken by Soul. It’s by my favorite Pixar director. I saw Up, ten times, in the theater alone. The soundtrack. I played it hundreds of times (according to iTunes). Soul lacked that certain something, that I’d come to expect from a Pete Docter film. When the main character went from the human world, to the other world, I knew it wasn’t going to be a good one. It didn’t have the grandeur or whimsy, when those moments happened in his other films. I was falling asleep, by the time the body switching happened.

I’ve noticed that some of Disney/Pixar’s talents are moving over to John Lasseters new home. It’ll be interesting to see what comes out of that studio.

I miss being excited for a new Pixar movie. Going to the theater, opening day. If they really hit it out of the park, for me, the movie was in my head, for the rest of the day.
