@Spider-Kev I live in Los Angeles. I was surprised to see so many GameCube’s on the shelves. Especially given how hard it was to find a N64. In retrospect, it's not that surprising. Nintendo had made some bad moves that hurt their brand. The N64 was on life support by the end of its run. Also, there was no sequel to Mario 64. That's what cooled my excitement for the system. Luigi’s Mansion was my first game. 👎 😆 Never finished it. The PS2 was my savior during that era! 😆
I've always felt in the minority on this. GameCube is Nintendo’s worst system. I still remember A LOT of systems behind the counter on launch day. This was a Toys R Us. I played mine. Repacked it. Had my sister return it. I was scared. Lol… I bought another one. I think when Sunshine came out. The only Mario game I've played and didn't finish.
I still remember somebody making a Zelda trailer. This was years ago. I think it was live action. I just remember thinking how awesome it was. I wonder if will Link talk.
I saw the name of the game and thought about that game that was so poorly received that creator left the company. This was in the past year or so. I think it was a 3D platformer. Didn't it have a similar name? I feel like the character also had a similar look to the thumbnail pic.
@Clyde_Radcliffe If the man hasn't been charged, what's wrong with hearing from him? Even if he was “detrimental” to the industry. Hear what he has to say.
Silencing of people, based on allegations, has gotten out of control. And the climate has been used to take down many people, who didn't deserve it.
@EightyTwoStu Does he really upset you? Did u see this article and your blood pressure went up? I’m tired of people wanting somebody to stay silent because of their past. Cancel culture is tiresome. And it’s affected SO MUCH in this world. This is why pop culture has no oomph, these days.
I forgot about E3. Which is wild. It used to be such a big thing for me growing up. Even during adulthood. It was interesting to see its demise. Which is something I never would have imagined. Then I quickly forget about it. 😩
Did anybody else like Sonic R? I remember the controls being a bit wonky but I enjoyed the game. I remember putting a lot of time in Sonic Drift on Game Gear. I wonder why Sega doesn’t rerelease it.
I loved this game. I played it back in 2021. But it was so long. I didn’t finish it. But I got towards the end. At least, I think I did. I remember a kidnapped girl. A boss with multiple heads.
@Not_Soos 😂 I’m 41. You nailed the era. 😄 Although, the 90s had some great shows. Especially superhero shows. I rewatch those shows on Youtube. Those fan made Saturday Morning Cartoon blocks.. I see how cringe this era was. I look at some of those shows and think “WTF were they thinking?!” 😂 But I still love to watch it.
There’s a show, from that era. It’s called Samurai Pizza Cats. Recently watched it, again. Growing up, the humor flew over my head. Lots of adult jokes for a show that aired at 6am. I bring it up because they had a lot of jokes making fun of the cartoon landscape. It pissed off some powerful people. Disney tried to have it cancelled.
With the way Microsoft and Sony have handled their consoles, I wouldn’t spend my cash on their handheld systems. Especially Microsoft! I’ve owned Sony’s handhelds. But I’ve been shocked at how lackluster they’ve been, during the PS5 era. Sony is giving Microsoft vibes. Where is the spirit of competition between these two? 🤷🏾♂️
Never heard of this game. After seeing the artwork, I started looking into the making of the game! I’m not going to play it, but I love looking at the art!
Does anybody know the status of Internet Archive? I read that it was under attack and people were trying to get it shut down. Obviously, it’s still up. I'm wondering if they're winning or losing.
I don't understand how Sony and Microsoft are flirting with this idea when their consoles are struggling. Where did the spirit of competition go? Sony was great at keeping the games coming. All genres. Big and small. Microsoft was never my favorite, but they seemed to be on to something. Carving out their legacy and moving the industry forward.
Now it seems like neither listens to the people. Wants to share games. That's a plus for gamers, but exclusivity and having to make that tough choice, “Which console will give me the biggest bang for my buck” made gaming exciting.
Getting the other console, late in its lifecycle. Playing all the games you've been seeing and hearing about. That was a special feeling, too. Made even more special, if there was a price drop and a nice bundle. And a “budget” line of games. 😆
The gaming industry is in a weird place. At the age of 41, I've seen the industry go up and down. Seem like it did the know where it was going. Throughout all those years, one thing still felt palpable. Competition.
I will NEVER forget when I got the original game. I went on a shopping trip with my mom and sister. I bought it early. Opening up the front cover (remember the old school PC game boxes?!) and seeing the game, I was already amazed. The torture of having to hang around my mom and sister as they shopped for bras! 😩 While I had this game in my possession!
When I finally got it home and got it running, I dropped the chicken wing I was eating! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Back then, I was obsessed with roller coasters! I stayed up for three days in a row! I didn't have a computer desk. My computer was on top of my dresser. So my arm would hurt whenever I moved it out of the position it was in, while I held the mouse.
When I finally couldn't stay awake, I fell asleep. Only to be woken up by my mom. I had to go to a family dinner! 😩 sighs Childhood! 😆
I wonder what it’s like to work on an actual game with Miyamoto. I remember reading that he can be ruthless. Come in and totally dismantle whatever was being worked on. I remember reading criticism on Miyamoto and how his decisions show that he may need to step aside. I think this was during the later years of the WiiU. Especially after the release of the Star Fox game.
It feels like Nintendolife post an article about his last video every once in awhile. Maybe it was announced a long time ago and brought up when a new article was posted about him. 🤷🏾♂️
Seeing this reminded me of something. Remember when Nintendo was going to get into health and wellness? They announced a vitality senior. Did they give it a name? Not the sensor but the health and wellness devices.
I remember what a HUGE deal it was when FF7 went over to the PlayStation. What an exciting time in gaming! FF7 is the reason why I asked for a PlayStation for Xmas in 97. Too bad I didn't like FF7. 😆 I couldn't get the hang of turn based battles. THEY DROVE ME NUTS! 😆 Once my party kept getting put to sleep by those frogs, I was DONE! 😆 I also got Crash 2. Had a good time! I was surprised to see so many people talking about the difficulty when the remake (trilogy) was announced. I never found it frustrating. It was hard but always fun.
@UNCLDNS I’m always surprised when I see critics and gamers rave over a new Metroidvania. There's been so many. Never ceases to amaze me how developers continue to breath life into that style of game.
I never understood Reggie’s appeal. He never really says anything. 🤷🏾♂️ The man said “We’re kicking ass and taking names” and he was awesome ever since. Well, that’s how I remember it! 😂
@N00BiSH I’m wondering how they navigate without looking at YouTube. I’ll Google things and end up having to look at YouTube for more info. Especially how to info.
@Yalloo Out of curiosity. How do you avoid YouTube in 2024?
I had a lot of fun playing Power Ranger games back in the 90s. Especially on the Game Gear. I wonder if they've aged well.
I was done with Power Rangers once Kimberly left. Had a crush. I felt it was coming. She wasn't the first original member to leave. So I felt I could tell when it was coming. 😆
Going by the teaser, I was hoping this would be a realistic horror title. It would have been interesting to see Nintendo’s take on that type of game. Even a quick indie romp. But this is on brand and most people seem to be excited.

I had it for the Gamecube and DS. I thought they were cool. In the end, I preferred to play this kind of game in a Mario game. Those moments when you gotta ride a ball. I forget which Mario games. Probably Galaxy. A whole Monkey Ball game never held my attention.
I forgot about Starfy. I enjoyed playing it on DS. Off topic. I wonder why Ristar hasn't made a comeback? I loved that game. Diffucult but a lot of fun.
Seeing this reminded me of Nintendo Power. The days before the internet took over. Subscribing close to ten magazines. Coming home from school and seeing a new magazine on the table. Always felt like Christmas morning. ☺️
