Does R-Type warrant the asking price? That seems steep. I loved these types of games back in the day. What I don’t remember, how long they took to complete. Maybe it’s the gameplay, but I’m thinking an arcade game, in terms of time it takes to complete the game.

Edit: I didn’t know there was a demo released.

I would love to buy more of the Picross games. I loved the games on the DS and 3DS. I enjoyed Mario Picross. I currently have S3 on my Switch. When it comes to the bigger, more complex, puzzles, the rules are so vague. It feels like I’m playing Mario Kart. By that I mean, when I complete a puzzle, it feels like it’s by luck and not strategy. 😂 Even when I get help (something I’m not fond of doing).

Re: Poll: What's The Best Mega Man Game?

outsider83

Unless I’m overlooking it, where’s Mega Man 64? By the way, it doesn’t look that bad in 2021. I don’t know about the gameplay. It could be like the 90’s cartoon. In my imagination, it’s awesome! Watched one episode on YouTube...😐 I used to anticipate THIS on Saturday mornings! 😂

Re: Soapbox: An Anniversary Ode To Okami, The Best Zelda Game That Isn't

outsider83

I played this game for the first time, last year. It ended up being on of my favorite games, in the more modern era. I have to confess, I haven’t finished it. I was like, “whatever,” when I would see people saying it’s long. WELP....I have to agree! 😂 I got tired of the cutscenes, dialogue and the beeps and bops. 😂 I’m down to the wire, though. According to a strategy guide, I have a few more areas to explore. I’ll get back to it, one day. For now, I’m ok with the occasional Night in the Woods/ Mario Galaxy session.

Re: Soapbox: 'I'll Play It On Game Pass' Is Becoming Common, But Does That Affect Switch eShop?

outsider83

I once questioned how companies made money off Game Pass. A small subscription fee, compared to a 50 to 60 dollar game. How is it possible? I remember somebody telling me, one of the reasons is Microsoft’s deep pockets. So, do they really just throwing money at developers? I don’t see Nintendo having to follow Microsoft. Their brand isn’t a world renowned. If Sony comes up with something and it’s a success, I think that’s when Nintendo should take notice. But it’ll probably be too late. Unless they come up with something for their next system.

Re: Construction On Super Nintendo World Hollywood Is Coming Along Nicely

@Toy_Link oh ok. I went four or five years ago. It was my first time, since the mid 90’s. I could think of a list of things they could have gotten rid of!!!! Starting with the Jimmy Fallon playback during the tour. I know it has nothing to do with what we are saying, I just needs to happen! 😂 I remember when they used to have an actual person ride with guest. 😕 Shrek 4D....Jurassic Park (I’ve seen the remake, still looks lame)....Minions....King Kong (bring back the old King Kong). Universal relies too heavily on screens. I still remember ET, Backdraft, a studio tour with no breaks because of nearby shows being shot. Cool set pieces from classic shows. So different now.

Re: Talking Point: An Extraordinary Year For Gaming Certainly Didn’t Come Easy

outsider83

@Anti-Matter Maybe it’s a matter of society being groomed for these types of things. With phones being updated every year (with minor updates in between) and home consoles getting updated more often. Also, things like updates adding enhancements to games that are already released, also, the sports games that are released every year, with no drastic changes. Ditto for Pokémon games. All the remasters. Again, it feels like we’ve been groomed to except these things, over and over. So we’re ok with things like the last two console launches. TERAFLOPS?! I’m sorry. I can’t get over that! 😂

I miss being slack jawed, like when I saw the soon to be released Mario 64, in action, back in the day, Same goes for the last Bioshock game. Even more modern, Mario Odyssey. It bumped Mario 64 as my all time favorite game. I remember being in love with a game like Okami. I don’t feel excited about the stuff that’s been announced for this year, so far.

Another thing that baffled me. Star Wars fans being excited about ELEVEN new projects! Weren’t people just complaining about Disney’s treatment of the franchise a couple of years ago? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Re: Talking Point: An Extraordinary Year For Gaming Certainly Didn’t Come Easy

I think entertainment, overall, is dry. 2020 was a boring year. Nothing really exciting is going on. I still wonder what the game Shows, like E3, would have looked like, if there was no pandemic. Of course, it’s a matter of taste.

I never liked AC. The Mario compilation is cool but, I’ve played those games, back in the day.

I was baffled by the hype for the PS5 and the new Xbox. All of that excitement over teraflops and quality of life improvements. Where were the handful of killer games that were must own and exclusives? Making games compatible to the last generation systems and doing upgrades...meh. Made the next generation even less appealing.

I don’t know if the game industry will be effected but, where does entertainment go from here? I don’t see anything having much bite with people being so sensitive. Where’s the energy? The excitement? 🤷🏾‍♂️ I understand things have been turned upside down, due to the virus, but, outside of that, when things are in full swing, I’m worried about future content.

Re: Nintendo Appears To Have Already Terminated Super Mario Maker's Bookmark Website

@TheLightSpirit I was a coaster fanatic growing up. When I would go to amusement parks, it was mainly about the coasters and thrill rides. That mentality stuck with me in digital form, too! 😂 I remembered getting some kind of compilation pack. It was RTC3 (after I got rid of the original. The bugs really hurt the game) and it included the water park and zoo expansions. I briefly flirted with the water park stuff and I never looked into the zoo aspect. I bought RCT 3 last year, on the Switch and it got me curious about other games like this. Maybe a Sim City type game. If you have any recommendations, send them my way!

@BloodNinja I feel like I’ve seen you comment on YouTube videos. I think on popular Switch channels. It’s the way you end your comments. It’s always stuck out to me! I saw you comment on a video and I was like, “I think that’s him (or her)!” 😂 I hadn’t seen a comment from you, so I forgot about it. Your comment reminded me! 😂

Edit: these types of articles, about this company, seem to come out every couple of years. Layoffs after record profits. The big wigs still getting their bonuses. What I don’t recall seeing are the severance packages and healthcare for a year. I could be wrong.

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (The Movie, That Is) Has Officially Started Production

outsider83

Hey, universe! Can you PLEEEEEEEASE make 2D animation in vogue again! Im talking full length movies! I’m so tired of all of this CGI. No more stories with wisecracking sidekicks. Dialogue full of puns. No trio of little creatures or babies. Don’t be afraid to paint cities or countries in a negative way, if there’s “clean up” at some point. How about some trailers that are artful. That stirs emotions. Raises questions. Not make me tap my foot over a pop song, or, more likely, have me rolling my eyes. While I look at an onslaught of jokes. STOP WITH THE MOVIE POSTERS OF THE CHARACTERS BLOWN UP, WITH A PUN OR SOMETHING “HIP” ABOVE THEIR HEADS!!!!

It feels like, during the 2000’s, CGI was making some great improvements, story wise. There were a lot of movies that walked the line of being for everybody in a family and did it well. Now.... 😐

Re: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Was The Best-Selling Game Of February (US)

outsider83

Still haven’t picked it up. I’m currently playing Galaxy. Even more fun today than it was when I played it on the Wii. Speaking of, a remaster of the Wii Mario RPG, would be a day one purchase! I LOVE that game! I didn’t know people despised it, until Origami King came out. I never play the GameCube entry, so I can’t compare. All I know is that it was one of my most memorable Wii experiences!

Re: Dark Horse Appears To Have Cancelled The ARMS Graphic Novel Series

outsider83

I thought this game was forgotten not long after launch. It did have some DLC, right? I didn’t know about this, but I remember thinking that it felt like Nintendo was trying to create a new franchise. Maybe what happened with Arms is the reason why we end up getting editorials like the recent one about lack of new ideas.

Re: Japanese Charts: Story Of Seasons And Bravely Default Leap Ahead Of Super Mario 3D World

outsider83

The Mario 3D compilation has already dropped out of the top 10! I thought it would be there until it was no longer available.

It’s nice to see the PS5 pick up some steam. I don’t own one, or feel the need to get one but, competition makes these types of articles more interesting to read. I would love to see both systems battle it out for the #1 spot. See which exclusives have more pull, when it comes to getting more people to purchase the system. Especially when the Pro hits.

Re: Jet Set Radio's Legacy Lives On In This Official Trailer For Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

@Jakiboy I’m tired of seeing a review for an indie game with amazing artwork, only to click on it and the graphics are from the 8 or 16 bit era. Even more annoyed if it’s one of those games like Metroid. Maybe I’m imagining this, but the look of indie games seemed more varied during the PS3, 360 and Wii era. Some even rivaling the beauty of AAA games.

One of the things that bored me about Nintendo’s last Direct, besides too many anime style games, were all the old school looking games. I bought into the hype (FIFTY MINUTES!!!) only to feel bored by the halfway point. It was the first time I watched a Direct live. 😞

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 20th)

outsider83

Mario Galaxy (during the day), Night in the Woods (at night). Didn’t expect to have even more fun with Galaxy, then I did back in the day. Especially after playing Odyssey. Night in the Woods is like watching a quirky, indie movie unfold. Also, like getting comfortable with a good book. Those are the reasons why I enjoy it at night. It provides feeling of intimacy I can’t get in the daytime. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Re: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Slices Up The Nintendo Switch This June

outsider83

@xxx128 I’ve never watched a Direct live. I was hyped about this. Caught it from the beginning. By the half way point, I was over it. So many anime type games. Lots of bad dialogue. Bad voice acting. The games outside of that didn’t appeal to me. How can they hype up a Direct and focus on games coming a year or two from now? Splatoon was never fun to me. It felt like one of those YouTube bloggers, who will reel you in with, “20 AMAZING AAA GAMES FOR THE MONTH OF WHATEVER!” Only by the end, your like, “they scraped the bottom of the barrel for content.
