The first Super Nintendo World park based in Universal Studios Japan is now ready and open for business, but let's not forget that two more versions of the park are already in the works, too.
While the Orlando location's construction has been pretty heavily delayed, it appears that work on the Hollywood park is coming along very nicely indeed. Fan-taken photographs and videos have been showing the odd, familiar green hill popping up at the park over recent months, but new signage now spotted at Universal Studios Hollywood confirms that it is indeed for the new Nintendo area:
If you want to take a quick glance at how things are coming along, check out this video from YouTube user jsland which was posted earlier this week. From the 7:23 mark, you can get a good look at those familiar green hills we mentioned:
With all the delays and struggles experienced by the Osaka park, it's perhaps wise to refrain from getting too excited about the US sites just yet. Still, it's good to see that progress is being made and hopefully, hopefully, things will soon start to return to normal so that fans can finally experience everything Super Nintendo World has to offer.
Thanks to Toy_Link for the tip!

Can't wait to see a giant fifty foot Yoshi loom over the park
Being from the UK the Orlando site is the one I'm mainly interested in as we do tend to go every 2-3 years (when the world is in normal circumstances)
@gamer777 Too bad he's dead now
I'm more interested in going to the original, Japan one. I've already travelled to Hollywood (honestly, wasn't too impressed) and also travelled to Orlando TWICE (went to Universal there already).
Being on the east coast here in the states, this is a bit sad to read. Happy for my fellow Nintendo fans out west. But sad that we have to wait a bit longer
Being from Miami, Orlando is an easy travel but something about that Japan one
Where do they have the room? Did they close any attractions?
Figures lol. This is the Universal park that's harder/more expensive for me to get to. I'll probably have to wait for the Florida one. Though there are parts of California I'd like to visit when the time comes.
not Orlando? I didn't even know there was a Universal Studios in CA
@outsider83
They demolished a few decades old soundstages and built new ones farther away from the main park area mostly on old Studio Tour attractions (for example the Red Sea that was seen in the Mel Brooks movie History of the World Part 1 is gone)
@Mando44646
Orlando will open down the road, it's just going to take longer as they're building an entirely new park with 3 other areas in addition to SNW.
@Toy_Link oh ok. I went four or five years ago. It was my first time, since the mid 90’s. I could think of a list of things they could have gotten rid of!!!! Starting with the Jimmy Fallon playback during the tour. I know it has nothing to do with what we are saying, I just needs to happen! 😂 I remember when they used to have an actual person ride with guest. 😕 Shrek 4D....Jurassic Park (I’ve seen the remake, still looks lame)....Minions....King Kong (bring back the old King Kong). Universal relies too heavily on screens. I still remember ET, Backdraft, a studio tour with no breaks because of nearby shows being shot. Cool set pieces from classic shows. So different now.
But will it have fan cactus?
@NinChocolate probably not
@Mando44646 It’s the original one 🙂 But definitely not as big as the one in Orlando. So I expect this new land to be a condensed version of the ones in Florida and Japan.
@outsider83
Funnily enough Universal just opened a mostly physical based dark ride... based on Secret Lives of Pets of all franchises.
@Abeedo Mario is not dead he gonna apear in Mario Golf Super Rush
@Mando44646 I mean universal studios. A theme park based on movies and you don’t know that HOLLYWOOD has it? Lol.
Anyways I live in LA so hell yeah!!! I’m pumped.
I live walking distance from Universal Hollywood and I cannot wait for this place to open. There was a rumor a while back that Saddle Ranch steakhouse in Universal’s City Walk was closing down and a new Nintendo Store was going to open on its place. If that’s true, my bank account will forever be empty.
@Toy_Link I love watching vlogs on theme parks. Especially the parks located overseas. The fact that they have a lot of rides, not based on a poplar franchise, makes them more appealing.
aw man...still no monster hunter world
Sweet, being a Californian finally pays off.
