finally, a fresh and fetishistic tights anime
@KateGray ???
I love being a turnip and commiting tax evasion
I'll probably be getting Touhou, if not this week then at some point. I'm really excited to finally get a mainline entry on the Switch!
Shantae: $9.99 on Switch, $4.99 on 3DS.
They must have seen the prices on eBay.
I'm thinking of giving the Shantae games a second try. I didn't care much for them originally.
@Giygas_95 i love the shantae games, played them on 3ds. However I played them in backward order, and when I got to the first one, it was a little too old for me. QOL, visuals were too retro. But all the other Shantae games I highly recommend: great game play, hilarious, good level design.
@dugan I played the first three and really didn't see what all the fuss was about, but I'm thinking I may enjoy them more now. How would you rank all the games?
I would love to buy more of the Picross games. I loved the games on the DS and 3DS. I enjoyed Mario Picross. I currently have S3 on my Switch. When it comes to the bigger, more complex, puzzles, the rules are so vague. It feels like I’m playing Mario Kart. By that I mean, when I complete a puzzle, it feels like it’s by luck and not strategy. 😂 Even when I get help (something I’m not fond of doing).
Shantae, and the Atelier pack goes on the wishlist.
I'm too busy preparing for the Bug Fables collectors edition, because I have to have it.
Definitely recommend Shantae to anyone still on the fence. It was one of the most visually ambitious games on the GBC, and it's probably the second-best game in the series overall after Pirate's Curse.
"What will you put in your wishlist this week?"
Shantae for me! I just picked up Seven Sirens too as it was on sale.
I was sure that Shantae would be a day one purchase, but I thought it would $2 more than the 3DS version, at most. Call me cheap, but I’m having a tough time pulling the trigger at $10 for a GBC game.
Kind of telling how slow this week is when I'm the most excited for a re-release of a Gameboy Color game.
I actually just got my physical copy of Shantae (plus a few other entries) in the mail today. I’m really excited to play through them all. I played through The Pirate’s Curse and it was one of my favorite side-scrollers, then I played 1/2 Genie Hero and while not nearly as good, was still a fun time. Looking forward to finally playing the rest of the series!
Can't figure out whether "Dungholes" is a really "edgy" bit of indie game humor, or a particularly unfortunate bit of bad translation.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
So in other words they tried to come up with a silly meme and then designed a game around it?
...count me in.
@King-K-Rool The Switch version includes the extra GBA enhancements that were omitted from the 3DS release
Remember when I kept asking "Where's My Shantae" every week in the Nintendo Download and it totally didn't annoy everyone in existence?
Good times.
So, uh, yeah, I'm getting Shantae and completing my collection on switch. ^^;
Looking at that poll this is definitely a slow week. I would have bought Shantae if I didn't already have it on 3DS.
It's cool though, New Pokemon Snap is almost out!
Cool. I can tend to my backlog.
I think I'll be getting Shantae and Picross
Shantae and Shantae Risky's Revenge along with Doom 64 for Switch and PS4 finally arrived this week from Limited Run. Those are my pick ups for the week. No downloads.
@Giygas_95 I understand what you mean about "what all the fuss is about" because I can step back to see that they are simply good platformers, and there are a bunch of good platformers out there.
That said: they appeal to me because of the humor, the vibrant colors, the upbeat music, the tight controls.
I can't rank them all: but my favorites are Pirate's Curse (my first) and Seven Sirens (I like the addition of cutscenes.)
