Looking forward to all these as was taking a playstation tour when all three of these came out and came back to Nintendo for the Switch after playing BOTW on my son's Switch...needless to say 2 weeks later bought my own Switch!!

@Jeronan I was not talking about the X2 "Parker." I was talking about the recent chip "Xavier" released March 2019. It contains 7 billion transistors and 8 custom ARMv8 cores, a Volta GPU with 512 CUDA cores, an open sourced TPU. It is able to encode and decode 8K Ultra HD (7680×4320). It has been postulated that if Nintendo used this SoC chip it would not give native 4k (and that was not my point) but to have 4k as seen on the PS4 Pro via uprez tech. My thought process was if this chip was placed into the dock so we would have 1080 handheld (I realize handheld would not power this chip) and the dock could power this chip to enjoy 4k uprez on dock mode for a docked-4K uprez option. Perhaps my latter point was lost in my prior post.

@B_Lindz No worries, it is good to have an enlightening discussion about the pros and cons of tech specs when placed into frame of portable units. It dose seem we have something new on the way sooner rather than later, and the one thing that seems interesting is if they truly did tell devs to start making things 4k ready for their ports. Such dialogue would hint at plans for at least some upscaling; which it would be interesting to see how battery life is handled. Just thinking out loud, maybe the "improved user interface" comment will be us having an "on the go option" to change the setting to, like a laptop, choose between power or graphics for a choice of 1080 or 4k uprez to decide how far/long we want or will be away from a charge station?

@B_Lindz Have you read up on the Xavier SoC chip if they do go with that as a possibility? Not native 4k true but uprez like the Xbox series S about to hit. Or if they do Nvidia DLSS AI tech method?

So the take away is more hydrib portable as they see that that is what sets them apart from the other consoles of how we are different. It UTTERLY escapes me why so may people on here think Nintendo to jump to 4K upscale is sooooooooooooooo big of a jump when the SoC chip they used in the OG switch was already ancient for tech the day it was installed compared to circa tech for that time. Let us jump forward to now and current uprez 4k chips are now doable at the same price point if they want to stay economical.

Hard pass for me, but that is based on just personal taste as I tend to get bored fast on turned based combat without a "gambit" or "speed-option/A.I.-option" as grinding can get old.

So amped for this game; looking forward to playing all the Champions and hopefully, fingers crossed, ability to play as a Guardian...to finally shoot the DeathStar type ray at poor foes.

At this point, I almost enjoy what seems to the be the Mad comic strip of Spy vs Spy of Nintendo vs Data Miners in the game of the well-know paranoid Nintendo trying to keep everything on lock down in a world that has changed the environmnet on them.

To be using a SoC hardware that is +7 years old, is it that unstable that every single update we get requires "stability?" If it does, then level with me, for I enjoy buying your product, but now grow concerned about the level of instability as it relates to my user experience.

Taken as a whole this rumored DLSS AI 4K Switch coming in Q1 next year is starting to come from multiple sources, and with that as the great Jeff said it best "starting to get too long of legs for it not to have some element of truth..."

With so many out there good to have a review so I can pick and choose to balance my time.

I doubt if I will watch this due to keyword CBS all-ace$$. Please note this is my own personal opinion, I do not care for Seth Rogen. He is in my hometown often as he is best friends with Danny McBride who lives in my hometown now. In fact, I see Danny and his kids in Gamestop nearly monthly.

I heard on some podcast that scalpers are posting on ebay $100 for physical copy already. I have yet to look for myself to verify.

BOTW made such a huge ripple in the gaming world it seems that it will now be its own reference point like WoW became for mmog games so expect games in the future to be described as BOTW-esque like WOW-esque or Metroidvania style. That said; I see in my future many fun hours of unabashed delight playing this game!

I think I can see what is going to happen a Country Mile away: the day after it expires they will release all the games to be purchased on an INDIVIDUAL basis on the eshop....it's a business, I get it.

I don't know why but this seems like a game I should of seen them playing in the movie Team America: World Police

After doing research on the SoC chip Xavier, if Nintendo goes with that chip install I can see a new Switch doing the Sony PS4 upscaling to 4K for games and telling 3rd party devs to have on their kit 4K support. Personally 4K upscaling is fine by me versus native 4K because I enjoy the better battery life.

The counter argument I would have to those saying to not release an updated tech model would be that 3rd ports may begin to die off as devs move on due to labor intensive to water down their games to make it doable for the Switch, and it escapes me why one would not want something with better graphics?

Seems these rumors are creating a reader base of group A- yes please I want better graphics and group B - But why, sells are good as if they would have no choice but to buy this new Switch (Nintendo has made no hint that they would split their gamer base if they released a new model).

@carlos82 I do believe they have found the lanes as to what the can offer, but Nintendo dose need to address frame rate drops.

@carlos82 Agree, as games become more cross-console release it will be hard to argue that Nintendo is a company that wants to be strict "family and/or children only please."

I love my Switch, and I support Nintendo, but sometimes you have to loose to learn. I think it would be good for Nintendo's growth to have to struggle a bit to motivate R&D of tech to street date so they feel they have skin in the game to stay more relevant with their hardware (the SoC chip is out there). They obviously have a strong handle on software. And, yes I have read about the Bloomberg et al 2021 Q1 rumor mill.

It would be very admirable of them to finish the job, and say "but wait...we have listened; you can now enjoy them with Bluetooth support!" R.I.P. Troglodyte accusations

I have to double dip, I think a lot of people have this notion that 'gamers' in today's times are kids or college-age youth doing this in their down time...yet I find myself three times in Best Buy watching 4 adults in their 60's buying a Switch these past 2 months asking questions for themselves for the Switch is to be their Switch as their "kid took it from them" LOL. Doing Google searches on gaming trends from research firms have been very revealing to learn how wrong conventional wisdom has been. I find it funny how my patients tell me "oh I don't play games!" and then go back to playing their "game" on their iphone or Galaxy, LOL.

44 Male, and I love it. My wife same age loves it. Our son who is 7 is more into Stardew Valley. Doing my own on insight out of the box per se looking at my son and his friends it seems it is the upfront fast burn to a slow pace that causes die off with younger players. Totally IMO it seems it needs a faster pace, or more go-here-and-do-this on that island quest to maintain attention of the youth.

Never purchased or downloaded the trial of this game after I heard from the tidal wave of feedback of how much hot trash this game was at launch. Agree with prior post, they got the money already and at some point there had to be a quality control prior to shipping per se out the factory. They were getting drunk off their accomplishments on FF 7 to care.

Let me 1st say I do love these games prior to talking on tech opinion. Figured doing best they can...just like when I see these 80's movies on the shelf advertised in"4K" disc or in Apple store in "4K." The ole saying: can't make Chicken Salad out of Chicken.........

Good variety. It is nice that the showcases are having release dates coming soon or today on these broadcast versus sometime next year on all the content we see. HOPEFULLY, meanwhile at the Nintendo ranch they are busy living up to the Bloomberg and manufacture leaks about a 2021 Q1 new switch so they don't get left in the dust with ports.

I am proud to say that I have practiced self control from not only logging into this game every 3 to 4 days now versus daily, but also just staying on for less than one hour. I think, just maybe, the new Harvest Moon coming out this Fall will put a huge dent into the itch this game scratches?!

Seems odd to change a title, if it is to be released late 2020, just months prior to its release; esp. if that title is not already on copyright; but...hey at this point...it is 2020, LOL

I have yet to buy for Switch, everyone I talked to said to save my eyes and don't do it man...

I enjoyed the game, and the mythology in it; I could not help but hum along to Mo' Horizons song Remember Tomorrow the whole time I played it though...and that is not a bad thing

Seems 1st party titles may be hush-hush this remainder of this year as all these rather legit (legal copyright filings) news leaks of 1stQ new switch has, hopefully, peeps busy on games and hardware to showcase and polish 'its' final touches for roll out. Maybe that is why Nintendo has been so quiet..........

For me would be a tie between the ones that are real time combat as the turn base gets old after about 40 hours into the game despite their rich stories.

Grew up in the 80's so Karate Kid was part of my childhood for sure! That said, don't know about this one...looks kind of 'tell tell meets street fighter' to make a quick cash grab...pass; like Jaws, enjoyed the original, but there comes a point when it is time to retire the saga.

I would be worried about my battery life being 4K hand held display, but 4K when docked via current PS4 Pro technique (as it is not true 4K) would be nice so my dock is not a brick that is simply a middle man convert for my USB-C to HDMI cable. Personally I would not be so toxic and dismissive to this paper as a source. 1080p (larger screen) handheld is easy in today's tech age for a handheld (feel their approach is less than 300 or nothing at all for OG Swith), and Nintendo needs to give us a SSD for faster load times. All the latter would make my Life more "interactive" for this "new" Switch! LOL

So far watched two episodes and enjoying it. Was a treat for me at least to put a face to the man behind the infamous K.K. Slider.

I enjoyed the presentation. Great to see such variety so I did not feel it was the same room painted 6 different colors. I hope Nintendo can live up to the expectations of our next Direct that seem to be growing at a rate more reactionary than that of the multiplication table.

Either more WiiU ports mean more Amiibo support and Nintendo getting ready for that, or like most think BOTW 2 is going to have Amiibo support. At this point I feel like talking about a direct is like a weather man talking about rain in that it will eventually happen and you will be right.

Gratz Nintendo! Although with Xbox based in USA and PS based in Europe now, I would like to see worldwide sale numbers not just Japan (HQ for Nintendo) numbers. With great power comes great responsibility! So, encore it with a mid-life upgrade to Switch Pro with SSD (128 GB+) and upgraded refresh rate/frame rate.
