One thing that list does tell me is that we have been starved of high-quality new titles. Outside of sports games, the newest title is Ghost of Tsushima, and the next newest is Animal Crossing. Whew...

Madden 21 launch sales dipped 43% YoY from last year's Madden, which means it sold below 3,000 copies at launch. The biggest bomba of the week is Project Cars 3, with under 2,000 copies sold at launch; by comparison, the Project Cars 1 debuted at 50,000 retail copies sold back in 2015.

Ideally, Marvel's Avengers should sell ~100,000 retail copies minimum at launch. Tony Hawk Remastered should sell around half of that.

If they ever release GTAV on Switch, the world will explode.

What can I say, I have been playing this since launch and I feel like I am not slowing down. There is something about going to the island for an hour in the morning to do the activities.

Yes, I am playing other games: platformers, puzzlers, I just got Sayanora Wild Hearts and loving it. However, as someone else said: ACNH is more of an experience and less of a game. It is great.

It Still Printed Money !!

I am proud to say that I have practiced self control from not only logging into this game every 3 to 4 days now versus daily, but also just staying on for less than one hour. I think, just maybe, the new Harvest Moon coming out this Fall will put a huge dent into the itch this game scratches?!

I bought AC:NH on Saturday. Not sure if that means I contributed to this week's figures or next week's, but you're all very welcome.

I still play AC everyday. Just redid a small section of my island, enjoyed some fire works last night, bid farewell to my precious Coco, and moved in and decorated Apollo's yard area. Also I designed 4 new dresses and uploaded the codes. x_x

I do wish for more expansion or happenings already. Still would love another island but not betting on it. So we'll see. Just gonna log in now and then to tend to my island and neighbors peacefully.

Isn't Madden considered to be a niche title in Europe? Most of the Europeans (UK certainly included) love football but don't give a damn about the American football. So, why are some readers surprised that the game is just 10th? I'd say it is a very good position.

It's popular since the real world sucks right now. Not to say it was great before the pandemic, but I would imagine Animal Crossing is a huge comfort to a very large group of people.

@Ghost-Piece I'm one of those people. I buy a new version every now and again for gameplay updates, but only when it's heavily discounted. Very much a casual player, and I'm not bothered whether Rooney's listed as an Everton or Utd player, most of the players look alike for the majority of the game anyway.

Time for people to make a bunch of excuses to explain why this doesn't count. Lol

Anyway I don't play daily anymore but I do still hop on occasionally.

@TheFullAndy something has to happen between now and 13th September surely. If that 3D Mario collection isn’t announced by the anniversary then who knows what’s going on in this world. Was thinking about this this morning. I don’t mind if Nintendo say that Mario 64 remake is 5 years away and will be on switch 2 or something. I just need some confirmation that it is coming! And relax! Xx

The fact August happened and there was nothing major from any of the big 3 is astounding.

I think the next two/three weeks will be very interesting.

I think at the very least we get the Mario collection announcement this week, hopefully part of a proper Direct, and Sony and Microsoft will also have major showcases for their next gen consoles in the next few weeks.

@progx Animal Crossing is also a popular franchise. Has been since it’s release all those years ago. So it’s a combination of the pandemic, plus people just liking Animal Crossing in general. And regardless of how it’s making that money, it’s still making that money and would have still made a bunch of money if it weren’t for the pandemic because it’s Animal Crossing.

Yeah I am certain (hopeful) there will be one this week to, at the very least, announce the Mario Collection and announce N64 games on Switch online.

@KarmaGoona I know this game would have been a success without the pandemic. It’s obvious it’s helped and I was referencing that many people are seeing the need to escape with a game like this one.

This still would’ve been the biggest release of the series regardless.

I hope we get n64 online, but then I think they have to have Mario 64 on there surely, and if they do it just seems a bit strange release wise to have a Mario 64 remastered released as well. The wait continues! If the collection is Mario 64, sunshine and galaxy as rumoured, Mario 64 is the one for me. I think it will benefit the most from modern tech,
Galaxy for me is still a 10 out of 10 but am perfectly happy with the Wii version, even with the motion controls. Played sunshine and loved it 18 years ago, and repurchased a copy a few years ago but haven’t gone back. So yeah Mario 64 for me x

I hope Mario 64 gets a proper remaster with widescreen and 60fps and the works. That is the one I am most looking forward to as well!
