Update: And it's been confirmed! The twin pack will launch in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand later this year and is available to pre-order.
Original Article: Remember that Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered twin pack physical release announced exclusively for Southeast Asia last year? Well, it's now surfaced on two Greek websites.
Nintendo Life and ResetEra user Geobros noted how these listings could possibly lead to a more official European release. Pre-orders are available now and the game will apparently arrive on 6th November 2020 for around €40.00 (about $47 USD).
That famous Twin Pack of Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VIII Remastered released officially in Asia in 2019 with English content (luckily).
Now it looks like Square Enix will bring that pack in Europe too. I found 2 lists by greek retailers with release date 06 November 2020. I would like to remind that this Greek retailer Console Club had leaked an Assassin's Creed game for Switch before.
Of course, until we hear something more official from Square Enix, there are no guarantees this twin pack is getting a proper release in this region. In fact, as some other lovely Nintendo Life users have pointed out, both these retailers may just be importing copies of the Southeast Asia version - the box art on display certainly looks the same (and there's no PEGI rating).
It's also been mentioned how other retailers within Europe have been importing copies for ages now (thanks, Hinade).
At the very least - Switch fans located in Greece will soon be able to grab this game one way or another. What do you make of these latest listings yourself? Have you added this limited physical release to your own Switch collection? Tell us below.

It’s not only in Southeast Asia. I swear there’s one at my library in Indiana🤔
I would buy it for 30$
I'd get it if this is actually a thing. Never played either game.
Not the most interesting Final Fantasy news of the day...
This is rather paltry compared to the other FF news of the day, LOL
This would be interesting to get. Always wanted to give FF VII a try.
When is FF IX remaster get physical release ?
Switch and or PS4 version, doesn't matter for me as long there is a physical release.
Already got the asian/Japanese version with the English cover
Already imported from Japan through Play-Asia.
Was going to import this from Play-Asia, so if it hits Australia, I’ll be buying this.
To those saying This isn’t the interesting FF news of the day. FFXVI is a long way off and will ultimately disappoint. At least we know we’re getting good games here.
I already imported it. Still hoping a physical version of FF IX shows up someday... preferably bundled with VI. Yes I know VI isn't available (yet).
Lots of retailers in the Netherlands imported the Asian one. That's how I got mine at Nedgame.
The picture you posted is the same as my copy, missing the pegi rating. It would also explain the release date that already happened.
I think you just found some listings of the Asian version in European shops that have been there for months and reading way to much into it.

Amazon have had the same product page for months. It's not a europeon release.
Already got the Play-Asia version so I'm good but this is great for those of the other regions. Hopefully Square Enix release physical edition of Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lion for Switch soon. Mobile phone already got FFT: WotL so there's no excuse why Switch and PC hadn't gotten it yet.
@OneArmedGiant Glad you saved me 70 bucks then!! Tell me, how long is the game approximately?
I don't like all this mustard after the meal.
Time to play them for the first time, then. It was strange not to have them physical since the beginning.
One of the worst remaster. It's basically only FF8 original lauchable on switch. It was a biggest dissapointing game on switch
Saw the Asian one on Base.com like a week ago for £45 so maybe its the same.
Guess this is the Asian release that these retailers have imported, as there is no age rating on the cover. Some Swedish webstores are also selling it. For example: http://retrospelbutiken.se/store/produkt.php?produkt=33981
Edit: @XenoShaun @Hinade You beat me to it.
I adore ff8. I need this lol.
1. It's not uncommon for retailers to list games from other regions, Amazon does it all the time.
2. That is not how we read dates.
Very inelegant, would have been a more compelling purchase and a better entry in my collection if Ff9 was included
@Koapa Be happy it's here, remember originally we were not promised Final Fantasy VIII, just FFVII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2, and FFXII.
@Hinade that’s a great point. The copy I bought from a shop that imported them, here in Los Angeles, looks exactly like the pic. No pegi, ESRB or Cero rating anywhere on it.
Yes please. Also.give us IX in physical form, and while you're at it, port XI to the Switch as well.
I’d go for this. Recently beat FFVII on Switch (I’ve been trying to beat that game for 20+ years). Wouldn’t mind a physical edition to give FFVIII a crack.
whats odds dl required lol
I got Asian version but I would buy the PAL version too, to be honest.
Yeah, did nobody look at the dates and just assumed American sites would read it right? lol
This looks exactly like the Asian version, which EU online shops were listing since before it even released in Asia.
The PS4 listing makes it interesting though, as that doesn't exist even in Asia.
I literally just bought a copy I happened to find in Gibraltar last week! 🙄
I was about to get it but if european retailers wanna knockoff a couple of quid I can wait!
@personauser93
We’ll find out together in about 5 years when it gets released. BTW, don’t know why people still think length of game has anything to do with quality.
@Liam_Doolan Some of us have pointed out that this might just be imports if the Asian version. Can you update the article to take that aspect into consideration?
I already have both games digitally. VII was a lot of fun, but I am having trouble getting into VIII.
I never expected to see two Greek retailers in an article of this kind. Both sell online and but also have actual shops in Athens. They are some of the oldest videogame retailers in Greece and have used them a lot of times.
@OneArmedGiant I was being sarcastic since you apparently already know the game is going to be bad.
Thanks @Liam_Doolan!
I would love for it to be true though, making this collection easier to buy.
