The buzzword seems to be 4K but if Nintendo called me and asked me into a focus group for the Switch pro I would suggest a SSD for faster load times and instead of focusing on 4K go for higher refresh rates for smoother games. I would quickly follow up and tell them that yes I would pay $100 more for an upgraded switch.

I truly believe the reason Nintendo is quite is not because they are out of ideas but because they are based in Japan (unlike Playstation in Europe not Japan anymore and Xbox in the U.S.) and had more challenges by COVID with trying to work remote. I expect 2021 to go BOOM for Nintendo in a good way!

Looks worth a second look and a purchase as a platformer; hopefully with upcoming eshop downtown time games like this will get more front-row showcase so the daily 50 Lbs of shovelware ends up in the upper balcony.

As a Nintendo fanboy, hats off to Phil! Glad to see someone indirectly speak out to the fact that the gaming industry in ninja fashion follows Nintendo's lead on hardware changes. Agree with most in that since I own a 4K gaming laptop, I do not see a economical reason to part ways with more money this Fall for a new Xbox.

If I put myself in Nintendo's shoes I too would port over WiiU games that, based on spreadsheets, did not see much time in the sun so that my new install base can see what all else is out there besides ACNH. As a gamer, if you do that then make the port count with the version, but give me the option to still buy budget and not remove it from the WiiU shop. Low blow to make me pay $60.00 when I may of wanted to pay $20.00.

I never owned a WiiU, and saw the Wii as a too much a gemic and not a console for games. That said I am glad to have WiiU ports as I missed out on so much; I totally heart XB series even though it is 3rd party. Even better some ports have extra things as a remastered version.
BUT,
I can see the argument if I owned and played my WiiU that I would be ready for a New Chapter from Nintendo, not the high school lunch room S.O.S.

Like two points made:
1) steps in graphics not leaps and bounds, as at this point the needle is going to be hard pressed to move much further; instead give me my frame rates please (looking at Nintendo for their Urban Legend Pro Model).
2) Games, games, games; that's why we buy a system after all (PS5 has 2 I like; New Xbox zero)

I wish there would be more quality review some how on the eshop cause there are some great gems to be found, but there is also a ton of shovelware that is posted daily. Would be awesome if they would add way gamers could add reviews with stipulation of only way to review is to have purchased game (limit review bots), and we could click on reviews to read them.

Now that they have made a larger install base I hope they aim for the fence next. Let Xbox and Sony go first on stage, and then Nintendo 1st quarter of next year reveal a more expensive, but advanced Switch for the rumored Switch Pro.

I raise this glass to hoping the Switch does not become 65% of ports that were either successful or failure on the WiiU in a low-blow technique to get an install base this time around. Nintendo, don't look back, that is how you run into things....

Never played it. Never owned a Wii U; which has benefited me while owning a Switch with the ports that have come. However, this game does not look like anything I would be willing to pay $60 for.

Agree with most, I don't know how you could look at that and not immediately think "that."

I have always felt that if they somehow patched and eliminated Time Traveling that Twitch streamers would have 50% drop off of ACNH streamers. I do like the dream feature as personally for me, sitting and watching someone stream ACNH as they build their island is rather boring...not like fast paced action happening here.

I came over from PS to Nintendo after the last Nintendo console I played was the SNES. I love my Switch, the portability is awesome! That said, I am glad I missed out on the Wii era as all the games are fresh. Otherwise, I can see how people feel they are getting more and more reskins with labeled Remastered or HD.

Seems it has helped Nintendo as taken as a whole Nintendo would be at E3 showing us nothing we do not know already. Love me my Nintendo, but I feel they are taking a vacation currently while Animal Crossing and Ports are running the financial ship right now. I can see not trying to compete with the PS and Xbox graphics kool-aide, but at least get off the bench to offer us an alternative flavor.

While we want everyone to be safe; it is very odd that a tech based company is having such a hard time with remote work when placed in frame of Microsoft and Sony with their game tech schedules within confines of COVID. My one question would be so....why don't you guys reach out to the other two to seek direction/insight in how to better keep the ball rolling like they are doing? Makes me feel that they actually had no real plans except for more reskins of wii era games to allow them to catch their breath after frantic 2 years of releases.

PS ups its game cost to $70, flash forward over 6 months and now it is less than $40 due to their countless sales; meanwhile back at the Ranch of Nintendo...the price never changes for AAA titles less you buy it used, even big-box store sales flood you with Xbox and PS sales but nothing Nintendo original.

I work in Health Care in direct patient care, and can appreciate the humor in this art. Sometimes during abnormal times it is nice to have a break from the seriousness, and this could make a great marketing for face mask benefits. At least now we are starting to get a rapid COVID test that give results within 24 hours...finally can id carriers and infected quicker to give peace of mind to the unknown and direct resources quicker to those that need it.

These suits need to get out more, or reorganize the marketing department of late.

I still plan to buy this game as looks fun. What grinds my gears, and this is just the way it is, is that Nintendo never allows discounts on their games as a whole. I can literally walk across the isle at some stores and get same game flash-sale 35% off for some random sale event bash. I am sure this game will be cheaper within 3 months on other platforms.

I can't help but laugh that they plugged the omnipresent and cliche cleavage shot; low hanging fruit I guess to market with (no pun intended).

Not for me, but does bring me pleasure knowing many others find it to be their 'jam.'

I never played any F-zero, but know listening to various podcast that there exist a community that has wanted this so bad that it has become a reference joke to if something has no chance of coming to Switch.

Since I actual have my own hand draw Xenomorph as a tattoo I really need to try Alien Isolation.

As an added bonus I wish it would have Amiibo support seeing we have handful of Metroid Amiibo.

Looks well polished, I plan to follow closely.

I plan to preorder, now I just wish Nintendo would follow up and let me use my Amiibo for more than just a few games. So much potential yet to be put to use.

I enjoy the pace of updates versus getting all at once. I agree that this is a game you don't beat per se, but instead you live it. Disclaimer that I have never time traveled. What surprises me is how many Twitch streamers stream their own AC play sessions...little boring to watch but fun to play like some sports out there.

Although a role-out of a AAA title; my wallet is safe and sound on this one.

Agree with poster, The Thing made into a game. Hope it is good for Horror game fans, not my jam, but like having something for all taste.

Looks entertaining on a "popcorn movie" level, but I really don't expect epic, deep plot enrichment from a Capcom adaptation. I like Milla since "Dazed and Confused" so help it does well for her career so she can not be dubbed Resident Evil chick as Mathew gets dubbed, no matter what, Ferris Bueller.

This sounds nice if its true. I hope Nintendo is taking the Holiday seriously and tries to not give us more Remastered games; please be relevant and progressive. Also, please show love and not have us rely on ports of cool new games that will come to your Switch in 2-3 years.

I know how you feel, my backlog is chin deep considering it includes rpg/jrpg's.

Well...can't win 'em all, and Nintendo has to have games that call to all audiences. However, this was a lot of hype; maybe I missed the moment where they thought EVERYONE WILL LOVE IT so let go the hype train.

Enjoying the game, glad to see a large swipe of updates to adjust QOL in gameplay. Not sure what they call it, but using WoW terms, I am eternally grateful for the Quest Helper lines/icons. I hope this IP gets expanded on more for future games.

Switch 2 bound is my hopes as well with most peeps on here; my only concern, and I'm not a tech person to a point, is a 4K will make the portable battery life 1/3 of what it currently is. Would dig 1440p portable and 4K upscale to give the dock a purpose other than go-between device.

Plan to snag if price is right; played this as a chap a lot along with Bionic Commando and Rygar.

Utter garbage; if you need that outlet in Life, save your money and join Reddit for free.

Having the game social in the regard of inviting other players, even strangers for business purposes, they should introduce a system like WoW where you can report a player via ticket from phone app to include code of no-fly list, or make it so you can only leave an off island via the airport of that given island (ie. no ninja log by pressing minus at your leisure).
