@aznable exactly. The average person in the US is also not a criminal. My point is, if getting caught in the act does not hurt, then punishment is useless. He will spend the rest of his life paying of this dept, because of the choices he made. And this has nothing to do with Nintendo. It's the law.
@aznable all your rant is understandable. What I cannot agree with is the part "the guy didn't make 2 mio selling that stuff". That's BS because luckily, there are standards and laws when it comes to crime. If people only would be fined the damage they caused with their crime, imagine in what kind of world we would live. Crime needs to be punished properly, otherwise the punishment is worth nothing.
@Matl if someone is steeling from you for fun and then make profit of your goods, you would try to kick their ass in court as hard as you can and you would also argue with "irreparable harm", probably even to your mental health, to get as much out of the lawsuit as you could. And it's absolutely your right to do so!
@Medic_alert do you genuinely believe, that only 1% of the MiG Switch buyers are buying it for piracy and the other 99% to carry around 200 games at once at their convenience?
Also, what does one cartridge weight? Like 5g?
I see very very little use cases for people outside of piracy for these devices. Not saying there are none, but I really doubt the majority of buyers wants to use it "for convenience".
It has puzzled me in ARMS already, why Nintendo does not include some well known characters or at least costumes as unlockables. Missed opportunity to not have Yoshi in ARMS or Bowser in Drag...
@GravyThief I think the fear is not needed. If the Zelda Series shows one thing, then that they always try new things. Probably next 2D Zelda will be co op, you can either choose link or Zelda now that they have established the character for batlle.
For 3D Zelda I have no clue where we go from here, I doubt they go the same approach a 3rd time.
@Anachronism funny, same for me! Literally started yesterday with Wow! Slo start, but once you get some Echoes it's lots of fun!
@maulinks I was feeling the same in the beginning regarding the hack and slash, but I start enjoying the approach. Now it feels like 2D Zelda going nuts on magic and spells.
I really enjoy the feel of success /accomplishment defeating enemies with the resources I have, collecting the echoes and then summon them again. It feels like immediate progress, especially for tricky enemies.
@Ryu_Niiyama luckily not every company treats failure or mistakes as something bad that needs strict punishment. On the bright site: some extra advertising for the game and also for the subway station
@Lone_Beagle I would challenge if that ever existed... How many hours did I spend using the antenna port of my TV to connect the snes... Or fiddling with the SCART connector when we finally upgraded the TV but that beast tube TV was not easy to move and the back was difficult to access. Great times though 😎
Probably a little early to ask, but what's the comparison to the PS5 version? I have a PS5 pro as well as switch 2, now I'm wondering what's the right system for this game! I'm leaning more towards S2...
I received mine this morning. Currently, prices in China are quite fair. The blank switch2 cost the same like in Germany ~470 € and the bundle was just 500 Euro here in China, so I went with the bundle. MkW physical can be bought for 50-55€ here. I guess this time China benefits from the many locations they can import all the Nintendo stuff from.
@Varkster Not sure what your point is for AC, but it cost 69€ digital. Accordign to the US page it is $69 as well. So by that logic, we should have the same price, but we dont. Also ncie that you consider Europe as a smaller market.
To make it a little more clear to you: MK8 is 59.99€ here (US should be $59.99 as well). Now they are asking 30€ more for the physical.
Regarding your thoughts on the priduction cost: The Switch 1 Tech is in production since 2017 or earlier. Chips and storage did evolve in that time. Production cost of this fully automated production is rather going down instead of up. Therefor I would suggest that the priduction cost is either stable or lower then before. Also, the import taxt bewteen Japan and EU is 0 for almost all products, Japan to US is 24%. Sinice all the cartridges are made in China, I wonder if the 24% is even applicable for the cartridges or if US will charge the China-Tax.
No matter how i turn it, this price increase is not reasonable.
@Varkster German here! Physical Mario Kart World according to the German Nintendo Website is 90 Euro, that translates to 100 USD. Would be nice if people would stop defending this price tag at whenever someone mentiones "90" start to argue the price is wrong and they are spreading fake news. It's a fact, that this game costs 90. 90 whatever, but in some regions it's 90. Period.
@kevmauldin I also read it like you said, however, without active subscription, no invitation mail. Cut off date for the system check was 31st March according to their website , so activating it right now will not put me in batch one anymore
@Dm9982 there is a footnote on the Nintendo Store page that mentions requirements might be downgraded after a certain time. Let's see... I have tons of switch games, for most I redeemed the gold points, plenty of digital purchases and years of subscription. Just not the last 2 years including today. So that feels not quite nice to be "left out" to be honest.
I got my PS5 launch day from local retailer in Germany. Pre orders were a drama, though... I signed up for pre order invitations on Amazon for switch 2, lets see if this works
@Dm9982 it's not consumer friendly if they don't include the gainers with hours of playtime on theitmr clock without NSO subscription. This is clearly pushing the subscription on more people. Some might fear to miss these kind of opportunities if they don't subscribe to NSO. Same thinking with the paid updates from S1 to S2 games... I'm not really intrigued by this practice. However, that's the consequences of having scalpers...
@andyg1412 still a ***** move from Nintendo. For casual players who don't care about NSO this is really an unfair treatment.
However, I will wait to see the price policy before shouting too loud. The consequence might be, that the Switch 2 games get a price markup compared to switch 1 games. Or switch 1 games a price drop. Otherwise it will be strange. If they keep the priced of a Switch 1 TotK same like the Switch 2 version, no need to lock the update behind a pay wall... Also, I am afraid Nintendo will make this a general Policy, so even 3rd Party Devs need to follow this. Not a single game/update announced today included a free update...
@Tetsuro Honestly, I can understand you. It took me 2 attempts to get into Chrono Chross. It definetly needs more time to get hooked, but the later part is just incredible for storytelling and gameplay.
@Tetsuro I hope you only talk about the Chrono Cross remaster, not the original. The original might not be the most beautiful PS1 Game out there, but the game itself is one of the best and a very worth successor of the original. At least in my humble opinion!
To add to the rest comments: since the game was never officially released in Germany on SNES, I only heard about and played many years later on an emulator... As a huge Mana Fan, the art style was so much up my alley. Easily Top10 all time SNES game!
@Duncanballs I say it again, if it bothers you so much, then just push the ignore button.
It most of his posts I cannot see the attitude that he is advocating PS5. Just because he mentions he will get Game XYZ on PS5?
Also, judging people based on internet comments... You edited your post, but your first version was full of ignorance judging people based on comments and a guessed aged. We are all here to spend our free time with our hobby. We have no clue what package everyone else has to carry in their daily life. Maybe he is a big potatoe in some company having serious stuff going on every day and this is his small escape from time to time, being childish and just enjoying, not giving a damn about what others think.
He is never ever making any insulting comments to people, he is just stating his view and highlighting his special taste in some game genre. What he gets are super insulting and often personal attacking comments.
If it bother you SO much, for God's sake, ignore him!
@Duncanballs He is posting a comment about gaming hardware on a gaming website. PS5 was even specifically mentioned in the article. What's your problem? If you don't like his freedom to post what ever he likes as along as he is not insulting everyone, then just block him! I am actually very glad that the community at Nintendo Life is much more open minded compared to Pushsquare.com, where they stone you to death if you use the bad N word in the comments (I mean Nintendo, just to be clear!)
Maybe, just maybe, if M&L:BS is not selling well, it's just not a good game and it's not so much lost if its developer is sold to Sony? Haven't played the game, though...
Probably not many will agree with my opinion, but AI is just one more step in evolution, just like the steam machine, electricity or automobile. The concerns at that time probably were the same, however overall, humanity advanced greatly. So from my point of view, we don't have to careful and just be clear minded. "Careful" will not invent, will not advance. Without advanced technology, the lady stated in the article would not have this job to begin with. For sure, personal rights and copyrights need to be in place, no question. But making devil out of AI and companies that use AI is so wrong. Humanity will advance, people will find new jobs. AI will probably create new jobs as well. Simple example: how many people went to university or even high school 100-200 years ago and now? Why? Since the labor market and living conditions drastically changed from farming to industry and services. So people just need to relax and adapt, just like humanity did for all of their existence.
Since Heist was, so far, my only Steam world experience, I am looking forward to the sequel! Works so well on switch in either docked mode or handheld!
Haven't finished the game, yet, but the first 3 worlds are really not that great. The wonder effects keep annoying me and the elephant feels really out of place. @Qwiff Thanks for mentioning that! As someone who just started Wonders and grew up with World, I'm so far quite disappointed with Wonders. @KayFiOS especially considering the life cycle of the device, OLED prices will drop even more the next year's and LCD could even get more expensive due to the low demand.
I never bought any amiibo, since I only use them for the in-game rewards. That's why I have a N2elite since many years. But, since I'm a huge XB fan, I just checked Taobao (I live in China) and for my surprise the amiibo are reasonably priced. Just ordered MIO and Noah for 208 Rmb, which is around 26€ or 29$. I think that's a great price!
Will it change my personal gaming experience if any of these titles win any awards? No? Really no? Ok gaming world, please stop fighting and enjoy your games, thanks!
@Austrian I have to disagree! I love the movies so much and was super excited for the first game. Sadly, it's gameplay is such a mess, I could not finish it. Reading that the core mechanics hardly improved, this second game is a hard pass for me. Sad, since I love the artstyle, the love for details and the music...
Actually, from my experience it is not possible to have any boss fight in the temple without touching the grounds, since you need the relevant companion to actually finish the temple. I went to the wind temple before visiting the Orni village and the temple will just not "open". You can run around and explore, but it's not activating.
Probably not relevant for finishing the game, but I doubt they battled any temple bosses without touching the ground tbh.
