Re: Monster Hunter Movie's Chinese Premiere Reportedly Cancelled Due To Racist Joke

mazzel

@Clyde_Radcliffe I didn't watch the movie, yet. But are there consequences, short or long term for this "bad guy" or does he get away with it?
I agree with you that we don't need only soft washed movies, we need the provocative ones, that slap our faces sometimes. We have enough reality in real life already.
On the other hand, creators should consider their target audience, as you will not make clear political statements in a Disney movie, or adding gore scenes to cinderella (yeah, I know Disney movies have some strange messages between the lines, but not obvious ones that kids understand).

Re: Monster Hunter Movie's Chinese Premiere Reportedly Cancelled Due To Racist Joke

@Entrr_username as I don't know this joke, because I'm not from England or USA, would you mind explaining the meaning of this joke? These kind of jokes usually have a racist background. Japanese were not the most popular race in the US after WWII I guess. And putting the Chinese in one line with Japanese doesn't sound non-racust tbh. Also adding the dirty knees line, which could mean what? They are all poor farmers? They do low work on their knees? It would be very kind of you to explain, how this joke can only be bad, but not racist.

On top of that: I think it's not the creators choice to decide, if a joke is racist or not. By any means, it's the person or group which the joke is pointed at to decide how they feel about it. Don't you think?

Re: Chinese Firm Which Ripped Off The NES With Jackie Chan's Help Has Filed For Bankruptcy

It's a little sad as I always liked their consoles. Have a famiclone myself which I bought 4 years ago in China. It was a very cheap way to enjoy the old systems again without paying absurd high prices for an original system (which Nintendo will also see no Penny of, because they are used). So yeah, it's the same discussion like emulation. My standpoint is: if the original producer/ company doesn't offer an official way to play the games, it's fine because the original company is not making a single penny with used systems/games and therefore also don't loose a single penny of rip offs are sold. This said, this only goes for systems and games not sold and produced anymore!

Re: PSA: Is Your Switch Overheating? Perhaps The Joy-Con Rails Need A Clean

P.s.: I watched the video, didn't understand a thing. But what happened is, he took a video and measured the heat with a closed and running switch, then opened it, replaced the rail and checked the heat with a still open switch...
Come on! At least put the back cover on and run it for several minutes to check the heat again. It's like measuring the temperature in a sauna with the door open...

I think it's a good thing to tell people about this issue. What I personally don't like is the lack of explanation/details behind it. If I do this fix, I want to know the cause and the reason, otherwise I feel not comfortable doing any of this.
So, is there any connections to the heat system? Is there an air intake? Has it something to do with charging the joy cons? More details, please!

Re: Yes, Monster Hunter Rise Really Is Running On Standard Switch Hardware

@Dang69 I don't have a PS4, so I cannot speak from experience. Maybe it's just a handful of people who have this problem and these people speak out loud in forums
These people saying "a net is taking off in my living every time I play my PS4 pro". The comments are hilarious!
I guess it's mainly the first version and they improved it later on? Anyway, I hope your PS4 stays quiet ✌️

Re: Yes, Monster Hunter Rise Really Is Running On Standard Switch Hardware

For anyone who hopes a Switch Pro will bringt 4k and 60fps gaming soon: I just watched the teardown of the PS5 and that thing is huge! All that for 8k and 120hz gaming. The Switch is as big as the PS5 a power Supply. Heck, even the Xbox Series S will not support 4k gaming.
Taking the size of the Switch into consideration, I think many people don't make fair comparisons.
Nintendo wants to bring an enjoyable experience to everyone. They could let the SoC run on higher speed which would result in less battery life, hotter device and or louder fan (just look at PS4 Pro).
Nintendo already did great magic with the Switch, but even they don't have enough Mana to pull these stunts. So I for myself will not get my hopes up for 4k and or 60fps with a Switch Pro. If they can do it, it's the cherry on the cake!

@RPGamer actually, for this kind of game, a cartridge is nice to have, but actually it only makes sense after a release with all the content. Otherwise byoh have to download the extra content anyway. Yeah, some should wait for the final version, which might take another 5-10 years if he keeps pushing out content
