Re: Wave Break's 'Weezy Mode' Is A Rather Quirky Crossover

@UndoControl mit sure about your age, but since one of their videos was on the Win95 CD ROM, they have quite he audience. I'm a big fan myself. Probably most famous song is called "Buddy Holly". Check it out! Especially their first few albums are rock solid!

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For June And July 2021

mazzel

@JSDude1 Sure, everyone wants good games! On the other hand it's a good thing, that the Switch have a lot of devs the possibility to release their games on a Nintendo platform. I mean, you don't have to buy the trash.
I think Nintendo knows best, that giving the customers too many good games at a time it will influence sales for the software.
I mean, the platform sales are still very high, so they will probably not change their momentum of releases for their exclusive games.
My personal bottom line: ignore the trash but keep demanding good games!

@JSDude1 Honest question: do you have the time (ok, greenday Song Starts in my head...) to play all the good games on Switch? I mean the number of good releases is not as big as for PS or Xbox if you just count the amount, I guess no need to argue about that.
But I still have a lot of Games in my Backlog and by no means have the time to finish all the really good one I want to finish. Sure, everyone has different priorities for their time and also for their favorite games, so my situation does probably only fit me

Re: Here's A Look At Link's Expansion Pass Bonus Gear In Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity

mazzel

I really enjoy the base game, especially because of the Story parts! If there is no additional story content, I definitely won't buy the expansion pass! The BotW expansion pass was already too less for the money and it even included some story elements...

Performance-wise I actually wonder why people are complaining so much. I exclusively played PS5 games since the PS5 release and AoC is my first Switch Game since then. And I'm really enjoying it despite the frame rate drops. It's far away from unplayable and I didn't notice any bugs that could brand the game as "unfinished".

Re: Controversial Rising Sun Design Removed From Street Fighter II's Re-Release

mazzel

@johnvboy well like you said, it's all a question of context, especially for the Hakenkreuz. No German will be offended by this Symbol walking through Asian temples and seeing it on Buddha's chest. Putting a Nazi Uniform in a Barbie Game just for the purpose of fun, this could offend some people as this would have absolutely no purpose for the game.

Just like here, the Symbol has no purpose for telling a story. Honda is one of the good guys according to the movie and is fighting the regime of Bison. So really , it has no purpose here. On top of that's Capcom can do with their games whatever they want

Re: It's "Plausible" The CD Projekt Server Hack Was An Inside Job, Claims Digital Privacy Expert

mazzel

@Zuljaras Sure, that's true. But it will not influence the sales of these games. On top.of that, if another company steals code and it is obvious, e.g. CDPR can proof it, it's also not the best publicity for the stealing party.
But yeah, I get that this is not nice for CDPR, but somehow I have the feeling the tiger has not so many teeth as it think it has.

I mean, who wants Cyberpunk's Source code in the current state? 😂

Re: It's "Plausible" The CD Projekt Server Hack Was An Inside Job, Claims Digital Privacy Expert

mazzel

I don't really see how this could influence their sales. For PC, I'm sure there are already cracked Versions of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk.
For the unreleased Witcher 3, which might be the PS5 Version, the code could be unfinished so the game is unpolished. On top of that, I can't recall the PS5 already is already hacked and can run copies. So, yeah...
If it was an inside job, they might be able to find the guy anyway...

Re: New LEGO Mario 'Master Your Adventure Maker Set' Is Available Now

mazzel

@Zequio yeah the patent for the standard bricks is invalid for many years now, that's true. Anyway, at least in europe, they could successfully fight of competitors in court until 2010 maybe? But there was a game changing decision at that time that opened up the market in europe.
For the pricing: if it only would be because of the license fee... Check their current LEGO city series, where they introduce a new and very bad street system, which is only partly compatible with the old system and can hardly fit the cars/trucks that come with the system:
https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/city

And the pricing is very similar to the Nintendo set
Sure, LEGO was never cheap, but you always got a bang for your buck. My parents are not rich by any means, typical middle class income. Still, they could afford LEGO for birthdays and Christmas for 3 kids (my sister was more the Barbie- type, though). And I'm not talking about a small box with just one figure and a generic car. We got electric trains, space stations and all that stuff, so.we.could build our own town and world. This would cost several 100$ by today's pricing

Re: New LEGO Mario 'Master Your Adventure Maker Set' Is Available Now

mazzel

I really love LEGO, but this is a complete rip off... It's a hefty price tag for this small amount of blocks... Unfortunately, this is LEGO strategy since some years. That's how they push customers in the arms of competitors, especially since many of their blocks are not protected anymore and other brands are legally allowed to produce LEGO compatible products...

Re: Random: Cheap Clones Of NES LEGO Set Feature Duck Hunt, Contra, And Super Mario Bros

mazzel

I'm impressed how many people can tell the actual Quality just from pictures. Additionally, it's legal since 2010 to produce LEGO bricks (without the logo of course) for other companies. They don't have patent protection anymore. Just ripping of the licensed stuff is not legal.
Anyway, I think it can only benefit everyone and especially LEGO to have some competition. Their newest stunt with LEGO City is a complete rip off and they deserve a hard punishment for that!

Re: Monster Hunter Movie's Chinese Premiere Reportedly Cancelled Due To Racist Joke

mazzel

@Stocksy lol dude, then finally tell me the meaning. Kids don't come up with stuff like this by accident. They get their mindset because of the people/adults around them. If it was not to mock Chinese or Japanese, why put the Wort "dirty" in there? Also, another user did the research for you to point out how this "joke" sometimes was "performed". And that's definitely racist.
Btw. It's weekend, so I'm enjoying a day off on the sofa reading some funny, some intelligent and sadly also some stupid comments on NL.

Re: Monster Hunter Movie's Chinese Premiere Reportedly Cancelled Due To Racist Joke

mazzel

@Stocksy ah, sorry, I forgot the fact, that out of xenophobia it's ok to insult other people/ races. This kind of thinking is one of the reasons for xenophobia not disappearing. I personally think that xenophobia is a strong driver of racism. Therefore declaring xenophobia as harmless, you just support racism in the long run.
So for the context of the "harmless, xenophobic rhyme", it's still no excuse.
Also, your comparison with your made up joke is hilarious. The original rhyme uses "dirty knees", obviously something negative. If it's harmless, why wasn't "pretty knees" used? It's obvious, that the rhyme intends to make Japanese and Chinese look bad.
