Just beat FF7 Remake, so I'll probably mostly be playing Animal Crossing while I wait for Trials of Mana next week. RPG Gauntlet 2020 is in full swing!
If you want ToCS 1 and 2 on Switch, get @XSEED on Twitter. Be respectful though, of course. This is such a great RPG series and I hope more people can get into it.
Glad we have a release date, I plan on getting the game but it's going to have to get in line behind Xenoblade Chronicles so it might be a while before I get around to it.
@XiaoShao I was popping in to say the same thing. At least half my Saturn cases at least had broken hinges. I do still kinda have nostalgia for the long cases from the Saturn and early PS1 era, but do I want them to come back? Not really.
@Krull Nice! Have you played Trails in the Sky First Chapter already? It directly sets up the events of Second Chapter so make sure you do. I'm playing it on Steam since I don't have a PSP or Vita. Pretty huge treasure troves of games on those handhelds. Rondo I'm playing on Wii VC (RIP.)
Just beat Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky so I'm jumping right into Second Chapter. Just beat Rondo of Blood with Richter so now I'm trying a play through with Maria. A little Doom 2 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 on the side.
SotN is my favorite, but it's not eligible, so my top 3 from this list are 1. Super Castlevania 4 2. Castlevania 3 3. Castlevania Also Simon's Quest is a very good game. Especially now, if you get stuck just ask the internet for help.
Oof, strong disagree. FF6 and Celes are my picks. Didn't play FFX until the Switch version, didn't like it. Replayed FF7 last month and yep, Cloud is still a dull MC.
Picked up the old Doom games on sale. I've played through episode 1 of Doom 1 many times having owned the shareware version back in the 90s. Also Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Loved Trails of Cold Steel 1-3 and with ToCS 4 in English release date still TBA I figured I'd jump around the LoH timeline a little bit. Love it so far, Falcom sure love their lost kitty sidequests.
Whatever happened to a game called Sega Super GT/ Scud Racer? It's a 90s racing game where you're driving a Dodge Viper on an airport runway. Never got ported to Dreamcast or Gamecube or anything.
@Wazeddie22 Nice profile pic! I have the big box versions of both Lunars and they're always great to replay. It's a shame those games aren't available on any modern consoles, still stuck on PS1 and Sega CD.
@Ralizah Discipline feels good! Ha! Yeah I still replay the Lunars and Grandias every few years. Leo is still one of the best characters in RPG history.
This year has been light on new releases so I've been playing older games. Rayman Origins on Wii and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete on PS1. Probably will squeeze in some Salmon Run too.
Final Fantasy 7 on Switch. That turbo mode is a godsend. Finished disc 2 in about 19 hours. When I finish FF7 I'm going to replay The Last of Us in preparation for the sequel.
@MrMetroid P5 was my first Persona and I loved it. I picked up P3 and P4 on PS2, but I don't think my poor eyes could handle staring at a CRT for 200 hours like that. I'm surprised the older Personas haven't even been ported to PS4 yet.
@MrBlacky Yeah it is kind of different. Nintendo owns half the Bayo IP, but as far as I know Sony has no ownership over Persona. There must be some sort of exclusivity contract or maybe just a handshake agreement in place since mainline Persona games have only been on Playstation for 24 years. Maybe a Persona 5 trade for SMT 5 would have been a more logical deal, but that wouldn't be at all relevant to this article.
Let's make a deal- Sega, Nintendo and Sony. Bayonetta can come to Playstation as well as Nintendo, in return Persona can come to Nintendo as well as Playstation. Fair deal?
@Zeldafan79 Iwata is in the credits for Tokyo Mirage Sessions as a producer, not sure if that came out before or after Star Fox Zero. TMS was released in Japan in December 2015, about 5 months after Iwata's passing.
This seems kind of similar to Trails of Cold Steel 3 coming to Switch but not 1 and 2. Sure, you can play P5S without playing the base P5 game, but if you choose to go back and play the original you'll inevitably have some story content, character arcs and reveals and plot twists spoiled for you since you already played the sequel.
How is the port though? I still don't think we've see any Switch game play footage. Even digital only, I'd rather have it on Switch for handheld mode and gyro aiming. Unless the port is bad in which case I'll buy it on PS4 for $30.
Splatoon 2 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions. I recently learned that you couldn't skip Sessions animations on the Wii U. So for those who played it on Wii U- how long did it take for you to get "Give Me" out of your head?

Falcom's entire catalogue. Also Panzer Dragoon Saga Remake, not made by whoever did the Panzer Dragoon 1 Remake. Maybe Platinum?

Um, I'm just here to ask if the devs have said anything about motion aiming in the Switch version. Tried Google and couldn't find anything.

@Hardy That could punch a hole in my theory, since they gave Wind Waker a 40/40. Maybe their review staff back then had different opinions of water.

Two reviewers gave it a 9 because "Too much water."
