How is Minecraft #10 on the best selling games of the decade list? According to various articles, I've seen it at 176-180 million sales, only behind Tetris for best selling game of all time. Also, Squids eat CoD for breakfast. Booyah!
I'd love a sequel, I'd love a port of the first one with some quality of life features. Like a speed up button similar to Final Fantasy 9, 12 and Trails of Cold Steel. I played the Dreamcast version of SoA a couple years ago and your movement speed is painfully slow, especially climbing ladders in your home base. Every RPG needs a turbo mode. There's just too many to play and not enough time!
A Link to the Past. Finished Misery Mire last night and just have Turtle Rock, Ganon's Tower and the final boss left. I'm missing 8 heart pieces so I might go for those too. Got the piece from the chest mini-game first try (thanks to the rewind function. I don't think it's cheating )
I hope Tom Happ doesn't get burned out doing all the work himself. Maybe after AV2 he could get hired by someone like Yacht Club or Team Cherry or even Nintendo.
If Camelot can have Cory's axe, does that mean the next Golden Sun will have Kratos' Leviathan Axe? Could be cool in a turn based game, use your turn to throw it, and have a dedicated button to call it back at anytime to impede enemy attacks.
@Heavyarms55 If Salmon Run was its own game, it would be my most played game on Switch by quite a bit. I like the idea of 8 player Salmon Run with bigger maps, maybe 4v4 SR to see who can collect the most eggs. I did kind of like being forced to play whatever weapon you get dealt in each round. Makes me step out of my comfort zone and try weapons I'd never pick in a competitive match. I would like to be able to wear our own gear with abilities in SR, imagine how many eggs you could grab with all 12 slots with swim speed up.
@Heavyarms55 I'm hoping for S3 news some time next year too. Even if it's just new battle stages, weapons, specials, Salmon Run maps, Salmonid bosses, make it easier to play with friends... well I guess I'm describing an expansion as much as a sequel, but I'd be happy with whatever they call it.
Ys 9 and Trails of Cold Steel 4 are obvious candidates, of course they'll get released for PS4 first then announced for Switch a month or two later and suckers like me will try to convince ourselves not to double-dip before inevitably caving in. I also noticed there are 6 Prinnies in the pic, perhaps something to do with Disgaea 6?
Shovel Knight King of Cards and Splatoon 2 on Switch. On PS4 I'm working on Tales of Berseria and Dragon's Crown after wrapping up Ys IX in Japanese (hoping they announce western and Switch release soon!)
@Agramonte Took me about 170 hours to finish ToCS 1 and 2 and I almost feel like I rushed through them (my low chapter grades would agree with that.) Get on it ASAP everyone!
@Nomad Comparing Ys to Trails is like comparing Zelda to Persona. Totally different game concepts. Trails is a slow paced turn based RPG with heavy emphasis on character development and world building and a complex battle system with tons of customization. Trails of Cold Steel uses the same engine as Ys 8 and 9 so the graphics are similar.
I just finished Trails of Cold Steel 3 the other day and absolutely loved it. I've only played ToCS 1,2 and 3 and I hope 4 comes over soon so I can finish that arc before jumping into Trails in the Sky trilogy and (hopefully) the Crossbell arc. I'm curious to see how people new to the series will fare with ToCS 3 as their entry point.
@Alucard83 I'm playing Ys 9 right now and I'm nearing the end (I don't speak Japanese, so I can't comment on the story at all.) While there is wall running and a few other new abilities, it's still an Ys game, obviously more like 8 than any of the older ones. There are still big open areas with lots of monsters to kill and treasure chests to find, fun dungeons, great boss fights and a rocking soundtrack. The big main city can be a bit of a slog at times, but it's not like you're stuck there the whole game.
They should take all the time they need... to get my boy Grant Da Nasty in there! If there is one thing season 3 needs, it's a ceiling crawling, knife throwing pirate. He can help because he is very fast.
Got my physical Switch version pre-ordered. I'll probably play King of Cards on PS4 if Amazon doesn't deliver on time (again.) Glad Yacht Club are wrapping this up so they can get to work on Super Shovel Knight, Shovel Knight 64 or something else.
A real juggling act for me. On Switch I've got Luigi's Mansion 3, Disgaea 4 Complete+ and River City Girls. On PS4 Trails of Cold Steel 3, Ys 9 and Death Stranding. So maybe I'll fit in an hour of each.
It looks awesome, I have no problem waiting to see the quality of the Switch port. I'll take a graphics downgrade for the options to play handheld and/or with gyro aiming. If the port happens to be terrible then I'll just pick it up for PS4 and the price will probably be reduced by then anyway. It's a win-win!
Falcom goodness on PS4- got the Japanese version of Ys IX, I don't know Japanese so I have no idea but anyone is saying, but the game play and music are excellent as always. Also knocking out the Trails of Cold Steel 3 demo before the full game releases on Tuesday. On Switch I'm going with Killer Queen Black and Ninja Saviors, hopefully my LRG River City Girls arrives too. Have a good weekend everybody!
Haha I got the game with the misprinted manual. Hey I'm just happy to have a game with a manual in 2019. Also, didn't a PS4 Tell Tale game get released with XBox button prompts for QTEs? That must have been quite confusing.
I wish they'd just port the NES versions Dragon Warrior 1-4 and let you save anywhere. Similar in structure to the NES Online games, I would happily pay for that.
North America for me. That grey Konami box is so iconic for me. I like Grant's design better on the NA box (where is he in the Netflix series?) and Trevor looks scared in the Japanese version. He's a vampire hunter, not a vampire hunted.
I wish more games had a ranking system like this and Splatoon 2. Especially Smash, I haven't played with randos in months because I'm too scared of the inevitable beat-down I'll receive. Let me play with others who are just as bad as me!

Re: Square Enix Indie Division Teases Imminent Nintendo Switch Announcement
@Dman10 Tomb Raider is kind of Indie Jones related so I'd say there's a chance.
Re: Review: 198X - A Fabulous, If Fleeting, Celebration Of Arcade Gaming's Golden Era
Looking forward to playing it and I'm glad I backed this project. Have any Kickstarter backers received their codes yet? I'm still waiting for mine.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 18th)
I'm 4 hours into Tokyo Mirage Sessions and loving it so far. Atlus RPGs are so dang good, I want more of them on Switch!

Re: The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel III Brings More JRPG Action To The Switch Next Spring
@Nomad The music in Trails is still great, but it's not the in your face guitar shredding music from Ys (with the exception of a few boss fights.)
