Hello one and all, and welcome to yet another weekend. This week has seen more info on the future of the Super Smash Bros. series, Animal Crossing in-game purchase shenanigans, and the surprise launch of a new Switch FPS game, but now it's finally time for us to take a breath and relax.
Members of Team Nintendo Life have shared our plans down below, and we'd love for you to get involved via our poll and comment sections. Enjoy!

With March just around the corner, I already have my pre-orders in for both Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It's about to be an absolute cuteness overload on the Switch front, so I'm actually spending these next couple of weeks getting prepared by playing something that's the complete opposite.
I've been revisiting The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 over the last few days - sacrilege on this site, I know - in preparation for the sequel coming out in a few months' time. I'm hoping that after all the blood, zombies, swearing, and shooty-shooty bang-bangs, I'll be even more appreciative of the colour and charm from the two titles mentioned above. Is it weird that I love all three of these entirely different series?

I've not yet seen the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie, but just witnessing the sheer hype around it has got me booting up the wonderful Sonic Mania again. I still find it staggering just how darn good this game is! I've also picked up the Sega Ages release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, so hopefully I'll get around to giving that a go, too.
I'm also still spending some time with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but after the recent Nintendo Direct, it feels oddly lacking... Why can't I alter the terrain?!

Homestretch on DAEMON X MACHINA. I wonder if the world will end… Also SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays completion rate is at a staggering 67% high! Still need to research several mobile suits. Hopefully I can also sneak in a bite at Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold but I need to wrap up some musical work before the weekend ends.
My game of the week is - to the surprise of no one - Double Dragon & Kunio-kun: Retro Brawler Bundle. We have met many times before but this marks the first time we have official translations for several of Kunio’s finest Famicom outings. “Barf” indeed!

Having started Hyper Light Drifter last weekend, any stolen hours I can manage this Saturday and Sunday will be spent playing that. The game didn’t grab me immediately, but after 30 minutes or so I got into its groove and I’m looking forward to ticking it off. Once that is done my latest acquisition awaits: The Witcher 3. I hear it’s pretty good? After seeing the improvements that the latest update brought to the table, I decided to nab it in the eShop sale and I’m very much looking forward to spending several uninterrupted hours in its company.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave a vote in the poll above and a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

This year has been light on new releases so I've been playing older games. Rayman Origins on Wii and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete on PS1. Probably will squeeze in some Salmon Run too.
The Sonic Movie really got me wanting to play Sonic Mania
I’ll be playing NFS Heat on my PS4 and maybe some FE: Tree Houses.
Still chipping away at Steins Gate and for my channel Ori and the Blind Forest.
Final Fantasy X - HD Remaster. Great game.
Daemon X Machina and Super Metroid on SNES Online.
Finally bought Dark Souls. I’m right at the beginning and finding it crazy hard to get my attack timing right. Hopefully it’ll click soon.
Will prob dive back into The Witcher soon seeing as the update has improved the blurriness that was putting me off.
Trying to finish / 100% a few games before get lost on an island in a month so playing Heist, Asphalt, Hyrule Warriors
Final Fantasy X on Steam. Love love the remaster
Playing that good ol Fortnite.
Octopath Traveler. Bought it on release but put it aside as I wasn't in the right frame of mind to play such a slower paced game at the time.
Have now picked it up again and I'm enjoying a lot more. That'll probably be it as I'm working all weekend.
Just finished the story in Snack World but will probably just keep playing that for the rest of the weekend. Might try to find time to start Atelier Escha & Logy.
Playing: Popn TwinBee
Making: Pambazos
Eating: Pambazos
Menh i have alot to play... Katanakami, DMC3 SPECIAL EDITION SWITCH, witcher 3, Darksiders Genesis.
I'll be playing some Witcher 3 and Rocket League but I'm not sure I'll be playing either for very long. Feeling really rough today after some brutal dental work yesterday, took a lot out of me.
My focus this weekend is on the Fury v Wilder fight, cannot wait. I'm going out to watch it on a giant screen at a sports bar. The fight should start around 11am for me. The last fight must have had at least 500 folk packed into the bar, the atmosphere was incredible.
Finally started my back cantalogue: Call of Juarez
I think i will play Ratchet & Clank PS4 tonight.
And i will check the new update for Portal Knights PS4 also.
Brushing off my Bongos for some Donkey Konga fun. Little tip. If your Bongos haven't been used for a while (I am married) and are a little off colour, little bit of Cif and a damp cloth will bring them up lovely. No one likes a dirty bongo.
Almost at the end of Final fantasy adventure on secret of mana collection. I remember being surprised when i heard that in japan this was a prequel of sorts to Secret of Mana, maybe because of the different branding in the west. But replaying it all these years later I can see a lot of similarities, from the monsters and bosses to the charging weapons. Enjoyed playing it.
Then I might start a civ 6 campaign or maybe just some enter the gungeon.
Plus a bit more ring fit.
Hopefully I’ll finish Darksiders Genesis and then move onto Katana Kami.
After watching the Sonic Movie (it's really good, by the way!) I went back and finished off the main story of Sonic Forces (it's not bad overall!)
After that, of course, it was the Animal Crossing Direct which has encouraged me to pick up Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City, which I never really got into before but I'm really enjoying it now.
I'm also trying to put a bit of time into Sonic Mania, but I'm not great at 2D Sonic -it's an amazing game, though!
Dragon Quest XI - Collected the orbs so I'm now on my way to Yggdrasil.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe - Defeated the final boss yesterday. Collecting key chains I've missed and playing the side modes. Collected all sun stones before the final boss so I've played all the extra levels.
Phoenix Wright: Spirit of Justice - I've yet to finish this for whatever reason. Played an hour today. Took a bit to remember what's going on. Seems like I was really close to the ending. I think I have 30-60 minutes left now.
Pokémon Shuffle - Really close to completion. 3 UX stages to go. Then it's time to S rank ~25 stages I haven't S ranked yet.
I finished Luigi’s Mansion 3 last weekend so this weekend I want to finish Ni No Kuni. I’m on the final stretch so I think that’s doable.
Also getting into Mario Odyssey. I only got a Switch in December so I am in catch up mode. Loving that game too.
Dabbling in some Rocket League and also continuing on my New Game+ on The Witcher 3 on Death March difficulty - it ain't a stroll in Toussaint.
I've been hopping in & out of Ultrawings Flat, Spintyres and Stardew. Downloading Warface to see if it's any good and explore the paywall. I will recommend Goblins Sword? Extremely polished and charming retro platformer. I love my Switch, hands down the most fun console I've had in my gaming collection.
@Matthew010
I have to wait until 26 February 2020 to watch Sonic movie in Indonesia.
Btw, how long was the movie ?
FFIX. This is THE game.
@San_D Heck yeah, I salute you for your excellent taste!
As for me I'll be playing co-op RE5. And a little bit of Smash.
Rune Factory 4 Special just became the last (or latest?) in a bonanza streak of my JRPG acquisitions over the last two months (and the 333rd title in my Switch library overall, to acknowledge a fancy number), but it will spend another quiet week on my card for obvious reasons. Which can't be said for the previous part of the aforesaid JRPG streak - my consideration to grab Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC pass in advance this sale unexpectedly evolved to the point where I've already spent the last three days with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 itself (crowned with the DLC pass last night - if you want my wallet's opinion, get any kids out of the hearing range first). And, perhaps unsurprisingly for my experience with this franchise, already racked up a good ten hours by the time I barely hit Torigoth. Despite that, I'm still maintaining steady progress in Shadow Dragon and intending to dig deeper into the second chapter of TMS. Might take a bite of Langrisser (been a while since I last used demos, but seeing as there are save file transfers and bonuses and all...), too.
Yeah, I dare you to imagine all this in a realm where portable gaming hardware was never invented.
EDIT: "333th"? Seriously, me? /)_-)
After a year of back to back jrpgs I'm taking a break from Ni No Kuni to avoid burnout (such a great game deserves it being a pleasure not a chore).
For a change of pace I'm trying my first visual novel (hybrid) - Dangdanronpa on my Vita. I'm utterly addicted. After 3 days I'm about half way through I think. It's so compelling.
I'll be wanting to try the Zero Escape and Ace Attorney series now too.
On the Switch front, the Blue Lions path for Fire Emblem Three Houses meanwhile a lot of the usual XB1 stuff like MCC.
Thief Simulator
Sonic 2 mostly to keep improving on my ring chain! Currently on 6900
Finally started Okami HD last night, first time ever playing it and I love that Wolf already! My son is still in love with Pokémon Sword. I’ll get some Ring Fit Adventure in too, so impressed with it.
@OorWullie hope you’re feeling better and able to fully enjoy what sounds like an awesome evening!
This week I will be mostly playing
Yooka-Laylee (nearly finished)
Pokémon Pearl
Just a few hours into Xenoblade 2, so more of that and inbetween it'll be some sessions with the excellent Sonic 2
playing a lot this weekend:
fortnite (new season!), the witcher 3 (update!), mk 8(local multiplayer)...
and i think i will get the fire emblem 3h dlc
happy gaming everyone!!!
Assassin's Creed 3 is top of my list. Really enjoying it. It runs and looks great. Highly recommend.
Yesterday I played Under Night In Birth the whole night with a friend, tonight we want to complete Resident Evil 6 Coop and on Sunday it's time for some Warface.
The update rekindled my interest in Switcher 3; otherwise Assassin's Creed Odyssey on my Not-Switch has all my attention at the moment
Well having a deep session on Football Manager 2020 as I am trying out new tactics. Boring for most I know but I swear I have made the perfect one... well maybe.
PS4: Yakuza 4 remastered
Switch: Dragon Quest 11
PC: FFXIV and Halo Reach
@JoeDiddley the Danganronpa trilogy is fantastic. Definitely check out Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 (in that order) as well if you're after some great visual novels.
I'm alternating through FE3H (my second time, Black Eagles after I did Golden Deer), FFXII, and Witcher 3, all on Switch.
Playing terraria for like the 11th time
Or just blasting people’s heads off in Battlefield V
Spyro, and it's ok. 😃
Wave Race 64 (N64) - Finally going to beat Championship mode for the first time.
Turtle's Quest (Windows Store) - You can tell this is a game made by children.
Briquid Mini (Windows Phone) - So close to the end...
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (ages)
Sonic (mega drive mini)
Sonic 2 (ages)
Super Mario World (snes online)
I started playing Shining Resonance this week. I'm really enjoying it so far. Graphically it's not the best but I am enjoying this far more than Xenoblade series due to its faster pace and it's combat system.
I'd recommend you give it try whilst it's on sale on eshop.
On Switch, continuing Tokyo Mirage Sessions and more Pokemon Shield. I've got all of the gen 7 and 8 starters now after a day of searching for good trades on Pokemon Home.
More Fire Emblem Birthright on 3DS. Currently finishing up Chapter 9. I can't decide whether I want to play Echoes or Awakening next, or go for something completely different and pick up Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
I tried A Hat in Time earlier this week but I couldn't really get into it so I switched to Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana and so far it's great! It's my first Ys so I didn't know what to expect but the reviews were on point.
I’ll continue trying to complete my Pokédex in Sword and I’ll probably play some Fortnite. My son wants me to play the new update with him.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC.
40 hours into Dragon Quest XI, one of the best games I've played in years. Absolute top tier RPG.
Also continuing my Ring Fit Adventure. I try to play almost every day. I'm Level 91, working on World 11 now, and am truly impressed with the results. My body looks great and my stamina, flexibility and strength have all increased. Amazing workout game.
I am playing Darksiders Genesis! It’s just wonderful! I thought the level structure would end up as a turn off,
But the hub world for them ends up being a nice compromise.
I also got Fe on the eShop for 5$ and I haaaaaaaate it! I do not understand the mechanics of this game at all!
Donkey Kong 64 via the Wii U. Great game to dive back into.....
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on the switch and some Samurai Shodown on ps4.
Mario vs donkey kong tipping stars.
The life
Did a run through of Sonic 2 last night and, though its been over a decade, the muscle memory was still there. It's a shame we couldn't have the widescreen Taxman upgrade but as a retro blast this was brilliant
P.S. Ollie - you've linked to the master system sonic 2 in the article - and I would like a Sega Ages upgrade of those games at some points this definitively is not that.
Just tried Warface... Rogue team mates in Co-Op and bullet proof undying players in Free for All mode. NO THANKS! Uninstalled after 1 hour. A reminder why I hated playing against human players in COD.
I have to work today... But this morning and tomorrow are dedicated to a game I has in the backlog: L.A. Noire. It sometimes becomes boring and ripetitive but the story os becoming interesting. Between murders I'm playing Iconoclasts that I bought on sale. Really GREAT game and I'm really having lots of fun, I recommend it to all those who like puzzle platformers. I'm also playing a little bit Unrawel Two with my partner, in co-op it's better. But playing with a non-player is possible only in short bursts...
1. Blasphemous on Switch.
2. Metro Redux on Switch.
It's that time of the month again, for a new Pokemon Go community day event (Rhyhorn), so I'll be dedicating some time to that later on today. Outside of Pokemon, I was also planning on checking out both Pop’n TwinBee, and of course Shadow of the Ninja at some point during the weekend. Also, some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, for the '90s-themed tournament, not sure how well it'll go, but we'll see I guess.
Sonic 2 (Sega Ages)
Mario vs Rabbids (second playthrough)
I bought Cat Quest on sale this week, and I'm super addicted to it. While its gameplay loop is kind of repetitive, it's very relaxing and charming to play. Its writing and use of cat puns really draws me into its world, and its mission structure leads to nice bite sized play sessions.
Also bought Sega Ages Sonic 2, since Sonic 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. It may not have the improvements of the Whitehead version, but at its core, the game is still amazing, so I don't really care. The use of rumble in the game makes it a more satisfying experience than it's ever been, and it plays silky smooth. Theres not even the slightest hint of input lag like I've seen in some other versions.
Finishing up Luigi's Mansion 3 then will get back to the Witcher 3 after a month or so break. Probably forgotten where I am at this point though 😆
Snack World. I intended to dig into it at launch, but got carried away with EO Nexus on my 3DS.
@mauhlin12 Lunar 2 is delightful. I really need to revisit that game soon.
Witcher. Just started it last night. The graphics, at times, are that good, but it’s still some pretty low-Rez stuff in others. Good story. Surprised by the camera, I must say, as no ones ever mentioned it before, and it’s not the greatest. After 80+ hours of DQ11, this is taking some getting used to.
I'll be playing Dauntless on the Switch. With the Saint's Bond event going on, I need to grind and kill a bunch of behemoths to get my weapon skins.
Speaking of events, the last CTR Grand Prix is going on, and I'll be participating in that as well.
Finally, I'm making my way through Children of Morta. What a fantastic game! A sleeper surprise for sure!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I've been playing Dragon Quest XI since before Christmas. It's an amazing game, but I'm getting to the stage where I'd like to play something else now... This weekend I will be playing more Dragon Quest XI. I hope to finish it in time for Animal Crossing.
I’m currently playing through Majora’s Mask 3D again. Going to go for 100%
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate still for me. Finally broke Hunter Rank. Solo played most of it but enjoying some online coop now while helping others to progress through their ranks as well.
@Anti-Matter It was 100 minutes long (1hr 40mins) - sorry you can't see it before the 26th, it'll be worth the wait!
@VenomousAlbino thanks, they're all on the list.
Steins Gate original or Elite?
@JoeDiddley I haven't played the Elite release so don't quote me on this, but I think the differences between Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate Elite are minimal. It's just a re-release, to my knowledge.
Witcher and Hollow Knight. Very very tempted to grab something in the sales before they end
The Witcher 🤯amazing I’ve been missing out
After spending a whole night deciding what game in the eshop sale to treat myself with I settled for Ys VIII, really excited to make a start on it as loved Memories of Celceta on the Vita.
However while it was downloading decided to play a bit of Shakedown Hawaii (a game of not touched in 6 months as I didn't really enjoy it) and realised just how fun it is and may just crack on and try complete it over the weekend
Sick in bed with nothing better to do than play games and suck cough drops. Gonna be playing Devil May Cry 3 on Switch but I've actually also got my 3DS back out to play Persona Q2. It's a shame they didn't bother to dub it because I really like the English voice acting in Persona. But the Japanese cast are obviously just as professional with bringing the characters to life and I'm still able to enjoy the fact that everyone's here together. Fantastic soundtrack too. It's hard for me to really explain why but I think it's a huge step up from PQ1 in all aspects. And the perfect companion for someone currently bedridden!
Sonic and Pokemon
Already finished Sonic 2 with all the Chaos Emeralds on the Switch. I’ve spent the morning playing Pop ‘n’ TwinBee and Axelay on the Super Famicom.
@Steelhead Same. Octopath is my main focus.
Shorter games I play regularly:
-Ring Fit
-Picross S3
-Wheel of Fortune
-Super Mario Maker 2
Gaming night with a couple of mates tonight, so it will be a rotation of towerfall, killer queen black, tricky towers, roof rage and duck game. Or anything else if anyone has suggestions for great local multiplayer? Good weekend everyone 😁
It's been a mix of Black Flag (got The Rebel Collection for birthday), and Screencheat with the wife. Grabbing another game or two today, but not sure what yet. Have to see what game store has in stock.
@SquareOneMJ Cheers pal. Have a great weekend.
@Tandy255 I've been playing a lot of Rayman Legends recently, and Link a Pix Deluxe. Both good games if you haven't much time to spare.
Just twiddling my thumbs waiting for Animal Crossing.
@Nye1779 For competitive games, Nidhogg 2 (its 2 player, but matches are quick and fun to rotate with, tournament-style), Super Bomberman R (for a sale price. I got mine for $8) and Lethal League Blaze are also great choices. Towerfall and Duck Game are some of my favorites, btw.
For local co-op gaming, I would suggest Overcooked 1& 2, Death Road to Canada, Castle Crashers Remastered, Full Metal Furies, Heave Ho and Snipperclips Plus.
@Ricube Iconoclast is one of my favorite games I played last year. Shame it doesn’t seem to get a lot of love on here.
After watching the first episode of HUNTERS on Amazon Prime last night, I really want to go buy WOLFENSTEIN 2 right now....
@Zuljaras I didn’t think Metro was released yet?! I’ve got it on preorder so I’m excited to try it out. How is it so far?
I'm back into Final Fantasy XIV with the new patch update, so I'll be playing that with friends. I'm also taking a bit of a break from Dragon Quest VIII for some All Kamen Rider: Rider Revolution on 3DS.
I picked up Kunai on the eshop and it's really good, Highly recommend it.. I also picked up sega ages Sonic the hedgehog, Also been playing some Mario Maker 2..
I’ll be continuing Control on Xbox... I have to play it in short bursts cause it creeps me out.
I said I was going to start a new game on Switch last week but I started playing Piczle Lines DX again 😅I have the dinosaur puzzle pack left ( all of them are 120x120 so they’re much more challenging). So I haven’t really decided yet What game I’m going to play.. I have a backlog that doesn’t seem to have an end in sight. Maybe I’ll finally get to that Pokémon Dungeon demo.
i want to start fire emblem three hoses dlc
but can i buy the dlc for my usa account? because my game card is for europe
nintendo support told me it is region free so it's fine
anybody tried this?
The big one is Devil May Cry 3. But, I'm also playing Shakedown Hawaii, and I just finished Sega Ages Sonic 1 last night.
For Wii u it'll be Dracula X, SMA:SMB3, and Metroid Other M if I have time.
I'll be Playing Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and GoldenEye Source
Until something new comes out I think I'll be entertaining myself with some of the best non-repeatative games on my Switch: Enter the Gungeon, Death Road to Canada, Broforce, Bloodstained Curse of the Moon, and Blazing Chrome.
I find myself right now playing mostly GBA, mainly Gunstar Super Heroes. I've also messed around a bit with Advance Guardian Heroes, getting a hang of the controls to play it soon. And I might squeeze in a sesson with arcade Armored Warriors. And I still have to play the last campaign of Shovel Knight. I have that on PC and had to wipe my PC and start over, so that's why I'm behind on it.
I will spend many many hours with Battle Chasers: Night War. I picked it up cheap from Amazon and I am on the penultimate dungeon, with one more hunt and one more arena challenge to complete as well. The game's battle system is deeply engaging and I am looking forward to seeing the end and starting over with New Game Plus. I also picked up Galaxy Champions TV ($2 is the US eShop for now) and it is such a great homage to Smash TV that I spent two hours with it without realizing it. It has such an addictive loop of killing robots, dying, upgrading and starting over. That "just one more run" feeling. Whatever time is left will be spent between the Langrisser Demo, Slay the Spire and NBA2K Playgrounds.
Ni no Kuni. Horizon chase turbo, and crash nitrious oxcide. Here and there. Mostly ni no kuni
My main game of choice this weekend is still Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS. I now have all playable characters and, plotwise, have just picked up the ability to fly. Now it's time to do some exploring and track down that murderous dog! I've spent a lot of time with the game this past week and am now about 55 hours in.
My Switch has taken a backseat in the meantime, but I do plan to get through more of Ori and the Blind Forest this weekend. I doubt I'll get to anything else on the system.
Finally, today is Rhyhorn Community Day in Pokemon Go; I'll be participating for about an hour. I'm not hurting for a decent Rhydon or Rhyperior, but I'm also not missing a chance to catch a few shiny Pokemon. It helps that it's beautiful out today.
Have a great weekend! Happy gaming!
As well as Sonic Mania and Sonic 2, i'll be delving into Assassin's Creed III.
I'll be playing Stardew Valley on the Switch..just can't get enough of this game!About 130 hours now.
My Time In Portia on Ps4 is another one I am having trouble leaving alone.I really love these kind of games now.Looking forward to playing my first Rune Factory and Animal Crossing soon!
Atelia Ryza will also grab some of my attention this weekend.
@mauhlin12 Excellent taste!I'm so jealous you get to enjoy that great game.
@Mamabear I bought it last week from a local game store. It was on the shelf and I grabbed it!
I guess they did not care that they got it early and displayed it on the shelves!
Oh and it is excellent port! Both game son the cart and for those who care gyro aiming is available for both of them!
I'm making my way through TMS #FE Encore. I'm also breeding in Pokemon Sword again thanks to some returning Pokemon and I'm also going to finish the Byleth spirit board in Smash Ultimate.
Zelda OOT 3D on my 2DS.
I'm also thinking about hooking my wii U back up again.
Playing through all Fire Emblem games and skipping ones im not enjoying or feel aged too poorly to have fun in.
So far my favorite in the series is Shadows of Valentia, great game!.
Already did some daily goals in Asphalt 9, and will do it again tomorrow. This weekend is going to be a bit busy for me, so I plan to squeeze in some Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics for a few mini-games.
@Yosher FFIX excels in both gameplay and story/lore, the aspects I care the most about. And the music, probably the best video game soundtrack ever, in my opinion.
@Beermonkey Thanks for the tip for cleaning the DK Bongos, found mine the other day and was thinking of getting my GameCube out again.
@San_D @Yosher FFIX is my favorite Final Fantasy and would go as far to say its the best in the series for me.
My favorite character is Vivi and Freya (wish she didnt get backseated after her story bits though...). I like Steiner too, he gives me a giggle.
A lot of Super Mario Maker 2 for me..
Was playing Yoshi Topsy Turvy but it's awful so I'm playing Yoshi's Island on Switch instead, much better.
Also playing Astroboy Omega Factor on GBA which is great fun and very different to other games.
I'll be finishing off Luigi's Mansion 3 this weekend. Beyond that I'll be playing Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
@wazlon don't go mad with the Cif. About a pea sized amount per drum. Got 2 sets and both looked a bit manky. Have come up really well. Me and my son played donkey Konga today. So much fun. Tried the Cif technique on official house of the dead overkill gun as well, went the same colour as Bongos (non smoking house so just time hasn't been good to them) and again worked a treat. Next up is official white GameCube controllers with extra long leads they made for Wii. It's just the lead that's started to change colour.

@Tyranexx I really hope that SE ports DQ VIII 3DS version to Switch with upgraded visuals, the orchestral sound track from the PS2 version, all of the DLC bonus equipment and possibly a few new plot elements/side stories. It is my all time favorite JRPG.
Rayman Legends! Such a fun and absorbing game. And a total bargain in the recent sale. I also picked up Runbow for like £3 so I'll be trying that with a couple of pals
Fire emblem 3 houses, NBA Playgrounds 2, and Trials Rising gold. I'm enjoying all 3 of these games.
@Ardisan Indeed, best FF for me, and definitely in my top 10 of all time. Also agreed about Freya's story (and also Amarant's). The trance mechanism too is kind of useless. But other than that, it's pretty flawless. Obviously some people will say that the story moves slow, but that makes it more cinematic and classy in my opinion.
Ghostbusters on the ZX Spectrum!
@GregamanX Thanks for your reply friend!! Love heave ho - we have played that to death now, along with death squared which I would recommend fully. I actually have death road to Canada- forgotten about that completely, thanks for the reminder. Will look into the others thanks for the tips, have a great weekend!
I don’t have much time for gaming this weekend but I’ll fit in a little Dragon Quest XI. I just played a little more of the Switch bonus content (Erik’s Part) and it was great. I didn’t even realise this stuff wasn’t in the original game as it feels quite fleshed out (well, Jade’s felt like an anime filler episode)
I've been on a DS and 3ds kick. I also got a PS1 for basically nothing yesterday. I have $70 in credit at a local gamestore as well so the possibilities are endless.
Super Mario Maker 2, & Arcade Archives Donkey Kong.
More Switcher, OW & FE3H
Monster Hunter, as well as random Switch games just to see them on my new TV, lol. Also been playing Mario Odyssey lately. (finally)
Darksiders Warmastered Edition on Switch has got its teeth into me, so I'll be busy making a gory mess of demons and angels with my comically oversized sword.
Fire Emblem Three Houses, Capcom Beat em Collection, and Smash Bros
Also playing Last of Us. Finally beat it last week for the first time (sat on my shelf unplayed on ps3 and ps4 before I finally decided to make a real effort at attacking my backlog) and now working through Left Behind on Survivor difficulty. Playing without listen mode (I did the main game on normal) is like a whole different game. Still great though. Fantastic story. Also playing a bit of Smash.
Still playing TMS and having a blast (I am about to start chapter 6). It is a shame nearly anyone here is playing it
I started playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 again 2 days ago after learning the Fantastic Four DLC is coming next month. I’ve also been in the mood for platformers and playing Mega Man 11, Eagle Island and Goblin Sword.
On Switch: Atelier Lydie & Suelle (been trying to find a physical copy of Ryza but it's nowhere to be seen) and Pokémon Shield (trying to catch Gigantamax Toxtricity)
On PC: Pokémon TCGO (I'm addicted to it)
@Ralizah Discipline feels good! Ha! Yeah I still replay the Lunars and Grandias every few years. Leo is still one of the best characters in RPG history.
@Wazeddie22 Nice profile pic! I have the big box versions of both Lunars and they're always great to replay. It's a shame those games aren't available on any modern consoles, still stuck on PS1 and Sega CD.
Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
giving Days Gone a try on PS4. Really good game, but I feel like a caveman, tied to my TV like this. Given the opportunity to take a 50% graphical downgrade so I could undock this game... I'd be all over that.
I kinda took a month off from playing Death Stranding, but this past week I got incredibly hooked on it. I think I'll mostly continue playing that.
I just finished FE1 yesterday so atm I really dunno what to go for. March is going to be so packed that I might just wait.
Assassin's Creed Rogue
Testing out random games with GeForce NOW on my way to Boston. See how viable this stuff actually is.
I need a "Plan B" for the Switch at this point.
I'm currently in my sixth playthrough of Fire Emblem Three Houses. I wanted to use the Ashen Wolves in a full campaign. Also playing Super Mario Maker 2, but that's my current evergreen title that I play a little bit of every day. It's part of my routine.
AvP II - Downloaded and yup it’s just as great as I remember. Would make for a great Switch port.
Fortnite - I’m gonna reeeally try for level 100 this season.
Pokemon - Gotta complete Ultra S&M and buy Let’s Go to complete my Pokedex.
@JSDude1 I'd be all for a Switch port! It's an excellent game; many more people need to experience it!
Why would it be assumed Im playing any of those games in this list?
Im playing other again.
Working on 100% completing Breath of the Wild, and squeezing in some Borderlands 3 with my bro.
I finally bought pokemon sword, can't wait to get into it!
Trying to finish up Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, almost done with hard mode! If I finish it quickly enough I will probably start Katamari Damacy Reroll on Switch.
Dead Cells. The DLC dragged me back in. Been playing every night.
Some day I will beat Very Hard (2 boss cells). Played through Sonic 2 last night. I still don't get the love for those games. Controls are wonky, enemy placement is obnoxious (but at least so consistent it’s laughably predictable), color palette is ugly (just like Nights, so not a Mega Drive thing), aesthetic and design are cheesy and were out of date for 1992.
Actually, I'm not playing anything this weekend. Which is rare.
@Tyranexx YES it is! And that music is just inspired! More people should experience it, and I am hopeful SE will bring it over (along with the DS/3DS ports of IV - IX) since XI was received so well, and they have also recently (Nov) ported over I - III as well.
PS4: CTR
Switch: Red Faction
@JSDude1 I'd love for SE to port more Dragon Quest games! I'm newer to the series and would definitely welcome an easy way to play more entries lol. VIII is my third DQ; I've also played IV and V (both on DS) and enjoyed them immensely.
Langrisser 1 and 2 demos, not much time for gaming but should be able to fit these in ready for release in March
Just got my witcher 3 game, now, I can tell im a switcher
A little bit of Pokémon Shield, some Splatoon 2 and even hopped into Animal Crossing New Leaf to catch the last winter fish I never caught before.
Adventure capitalist! X
It is a Dauntless kind of weekend for me!
Mario Golf for game boy color, Mario Kart 7, maybe captain toad treasure tracker and la noire.
