This was one of my favorite games of 2020. One of the best stories ever in a game, the battles are fun but most of them are very easy. Nat-Chan for best girl!
@JustMonika Thanks for the recommendation, I added it to my Steam wishlist (getting a Deck at some point) and I'll look it up next time I'm on the eShop.
AI: The Somnium Files (amazing story, up there with 13 Sentinels and NieR Replicant for best stories in a game in recent memory.) Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, thinking about starting Final Fantasy 1 (Final Fantasy Origins version on Vita) while we continue to wait for the pixel remasters on Switch.
We could get Breath of the Wild 2, Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, 2022 could be the sequel to 2017. We just need Super Mario Odyssey 2 and Arms 2: ReArmed. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will still be the best-selling game of the year though.
Day one for me. I put most of my time in S2 into Salmon Run, so I really hope we get a new and improved version of that. I haven't played Ranked in years because I'm scared, so I'm looking forward to the chaos of everybody starting with a fresh rank.
@Ralizah Thanks, I think I'll go with Vita. I played D1 and 2 on PS5, but when I heard the trilogy was coming to Switch I held off on playing V3 until I could play it there. Just feels like a series that's better suited for handheld.
SMTV. 23 hours in, just slowly moving the main story forward, more interested in catching and fusing demons. My compendium is at 34% right now. Gotta fuse 'em all!
That top image has me wishing Trails in the Sky would get ported to modern consoles. As well as Ys: Oath in Felghana, Ys 1+2 Chronicles, Ys Seven, Ys 6: The Ark of Napishtim, (the good PC version, not the PS2 version with the nails on chalkboard voice acting) etc. etc. etc. Or I can be patient and wait for my Steam Deck. But I'll gladly buy all those games again. Maybe again and again.
Just don't nerf the "Yell" ability. I don't know how I'd win a certain fight without it. Finally beat the PS1 original in 2020, I'd give a remaster a spin as well.
This is probably going to be a common theme with all the comment sections regarding Sugiyama's death: I strongly disagree with a lot of his... opinions, but his compositions have been stuck in my head ever since the original Dragon Warrior on NES. May he rest in peace and condolences to his loved ones.
Got my physical pre-order coming, I'm guessing this is one of those NISA games that doesn't get a 2nd print run. Also, the biggest issue seems to be that it looks bad on a TV, I was only planning on playing in handheld anyway so that's not a big deal for me.
Mother 3. I'm on chapter 7 now, for the life of me I can't understand why Nintendo won't release this masterpiece outside of Japan. Do what I did, pick up a repro GBA cart with a fan translation. When I finish that I'll start on Axiom Verge 2.
@BloodNinja Yeah, whenever the Mario World vs. Mario 3 debate comes up, my first argument is Mario 3 has too many auto-scrollers. Still a great game of course. Then we've got the mine carts in DKC, jump jump, slide slide levels from Mega Man 8... if these levels are always everybody's least favorite parts of the game, stop putting them in the game.
I liked Blazing Chrome, but my biggest complaint was I felt there were too many auto-scrollers. The day they announce this game, they show off... another auto-scroller. Does anybody actually like these levels? Other than masochists who beat Battletoads. I do like a good side-scrolling ninja game though, I'll keep my eye on it.
Let's see, just got my GBA repaired a few weeks ago (busted R button) so I think a replay of Fusion and Zero Mission are in order. Replayed Samus Returns just a couple months ago, and Super Metroid is already an annual tradition for me. I still think the original Metroid is a lot of fun too, it's the first game I ever bought with my own money, so nostalgia is at play here for sure, but it's still enjoyable for me despite its flaws. Having it on the NES app is pretty convenient, especially being able to rewind when falling into an inescapable lava pit, sure beats farming for health drops.
These types of games are great in handheld and on TV, so hopefully this time around it will be optimized for Switch (or Switch Pro.) If not then I'll just buy it on Playstation again.
The HD2D remake looks amazing! In the meantime I'll play through Dragon Warrior III on GBC. I like it better than the mobile version that got ported to Switch.
XI and V are the only ones I've ever beaten, so I'd rank them in that order. I still have DQ III, IV, VI, VII and VIII in some form, I'll get to those eventually. Dragon Warrior was the first RPG I ever played, tried going back recently and found it to be too slow and repetitive.

Crazy Taxi 64... can you imagine how much fog would be in that game? "Take me to Pizza Hut!"
"Ma'am, I can't see anything. Just get out."

Re: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim On Switch Will Feature Brand New Bonus Content
Getting more and more tempted to double dip, especially to try some new weapons (I'll probably just spam turrets and drones again.)

Re: Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls Isn't Coming To Switch, But It Could
I'd like it to come to Switch (unlikely), but I do have a Vita and PS5. Which version should I get?
Re: Atlus Brings 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim To Nintendo Switch On 12th April 2022
One of my top 2020 games, and imo the best story in a game ever. Do I double dip to play on SWOLED? Perhaps...

Master, I know this is unexpected, but ActRaiser is being remade for Switch and it's the highlight of the Direct for some! (Me.)
Re: Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! Physical Switch Release Gets Delayed (Again)
I was going to wait to play it on the SWOLED anyway. No harm, no foul here.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 11th)
Tales of Arise and Warioware.
Re: Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 2 Brings Back Two More RPGs To Switch
@BeefSanta That's a great villain name. I'd put Neo ExDeath, Dark Fact and McBurn on the list too.
Re: Co-Founder Of Game Grading Service WATA Accused Of Selling Company's Games On eBay
I grade this a 90. Wait, I can sell this on Ebay.... 95!
Re: Square Enix To Show More Of Project Triangle Strategy At TGS Next Month
I'd call it Final Fantasy Tactics: The Triad War. Or FFT4, just make it part of the FFT series is what I'm getting at.

@NicolausCamp That's what she said.
Re: Best Mario Music Ever: Our Top 10 Mario Songs - Super Mario Playlist

Re: Rumour: Metroid Prime Trilogy For Switch Ready To Go, According To Industry Insider
This is definitely happening. My uncle works at Nintendo and he told me so.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 17th)
Replaying Ys 8 on PS4, Disgaea 6 on Switch, replaying Metroid Zero Mission on GBA, Muramasa Rebirth on Vita. Bit of a variety pack.
Re: Atlus Has Seven "Project" Reveals Planned For Persona's 25th Anniversary
I'm used to Atlus announcing future announcements, but announcing seven future announcements!? Bonafide Monafied!
Re: 'All Aksys' Showcase Event Will Feature At Least 7 Switch Games
I don't have a lot of their games, but I do have Muramasa Rebirth and Tokyo Xanadu on Vita, I'd double dip on Switch (triple dip in the case of TX.)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 3rd)
Disgaea 6, Fire Emblem Echos, Zelda Minish Cap.
Re: 'The Entire History Of JRPGs' Is Available Now From Bitmap Books
I'm interested in this. But it looks like it's already sold out. 2nd print run is in October, maybe I'll get lucky then.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on PS5 and Dragon Warrior 3 GBC on my GBA SP AGS-101. Get all that?

Re: Feature: Best Game Boy Color (GBC) Games
A lot of those Pokemon and Zelda games in the top 10 are also on 3DS VC, probably cheaper to go that route than find the carts on Ebay.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 29th)
Danganronpa 2 and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Neither of them are on Switch, both of them should be.
Re: Video: Dragon Quest III's New Remake vs. Switch's 2019 Port
The HD2D remake looks amazing! In the meantime I'll play through Dragon Warrior III on GBC. I like it better than the mobile version that got ported to Switch.
Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Game Boy Color... Colour?
I got the Atomic Purple GBC with Tetris DX, Link's Awakening DX and Pokemon Blue for Christmas in 1998. Santa knows what's up.
