At BitSummit 2021 today, PlatinumGames announced a release date for its new shoot 'em up Sol Cresta. It'll be released on all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, on 9th December this year for $39.99 / €39.99 or your regional equivalent.
It's also been revealed how the game will be receiving "Sol Cresta Dramatic Downloadable Content" - which adds a voiced story mode that's been written by the one and only Hideki Kamiya. More details about the DLC will be announced in the future.
Will you be checking out this follow-up to Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta when it arrives on Switch? Tell us down below.

Sol Aresta
40 boners seems like a lot, but I'm intrigued...
$39.99 is a higher price than I expected this game to have, but I'm not in a rush to buy it so hopefully it'll be discounted by the time I'm ready to buy it.
Sold! This looks awesome
That does look really cool
@NicolausCamp That's what she said.
At £40.00 I'd want a physical, but if so I'm in.
I don’t want to moan too much because we don’t know yet but I hope the Story mode DLC is free! Paying for a story mode seems a little tight to me. Looking forward to the game whatever though
Don’t want a story mode in it, saves me a few quid.
If it gets a physical (with the DLC on cart) later, then yeah, I'll grab it on Switch.
Otherwise, PC only for now.
$40 and it's only digital? no physical = no purchase from me
Ahh man, I love the originals, I love that this exists, but that mix of rendered and pixel art makes it look like a mobile game, the side panels are just bland, and £40 for a digital game like this is crazy. I have no doubts there will at least be a Japanese physical for around the same money. And a story mode is the last thing any good shoot-em-up needs.
Day one, i hope there will be a physical version.
It's not releasing on every single platform. Just Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam.
I'm defnitely gonna buy Sol Cresta at launch at the eShop!
