@Ryne-Gaia When they see the revenue stream from "Founder's packs", especially the ones that are massively overpriced, slow down. This is fake early access.
20 hours in. Won't be able to score this for a long time, but really enjoying it, despite some really awful performance, especially when using ultrahand. Because of how grave that is, it'll never be a 10, even if the game design is top notch.
@johnvboy People are free to have an opionion that does not align with yours. Please don't be the type who calls any criticism towards something you like trolling or hate. That in itself, is what you you accuse others of.
@rjejr Gameloft is the company making the game and doing the business. They are doing the exact same thing with Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it gave them record profits in 2022.
@Keyblade-Dan Same. I love Mario kart and Crash Team Racing. There's room and an audience for a great full price racer.
With the FTP microtransaction model, it's impossible to play for a household without paying the price of several games to get real content out of it. That's the design though. Gameloft knows how to exploit whales.
@Kyloctopus It will be worse, it’s Gameloft. Look at all their previous games, including what they’re doing with Dreamlight valley’s Premium shop, despite «early access». What they mean by early access is early money.
A write up on the survey without the part where they what else people would pay for in their terrible «Premium shop» with overpriced items in a game they say is «early access»?
@arabiansanchez
This argument doesn't work because a remake is not a remaster.
Every re-release of an older touched up movie where they've improved image quality, remastered sound etc contain the original credits and the remaster credits.
It's also a union thing, which the video games industry desperately needs.
Nintendo corporate defense group is so weird to me. Those left out made the game that the remaster is, except the added adjustments with tech and the new paint.
@Zyph That's a much lesser problem. Would you rather have, for example, everyone who worked their butts of on Metroid Prime have proper credit in the remaster, or worry about that one guy who called in sick for Fifa Legacy edition 90921?
@SalvorHardin Should web browsers be illegal because of all the illegal stuff people do on the internet? Please stop. Start lobbying Nintendo to release updated versions of their older games. You'd give them money, I'd give them money, and plenty of others would give them money. It would print money.
@dew12333 99% of "stats" are made up on the spot. Even if it was remotely true, Nintendo has the solution to it in their hands. Seems to have worked out okay with Prime remastered. There's enough demand for classic versions of Gamecube games.
Gameloft already ruined DDLV with their monetization, while the game is still buy to play. They will have predatory microtransactions in this as well, in addition to the fake early access thing they also did for Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Do not spend money on this unless you want it to be the norm.
Hardware gimmicks are the biggest way for Nintendo to fall on this one. Nintendo should do everything they can to lure in the 3rd party publishers with their AAA and AA content.
I've no doubt Nintendo games will continue to be awesome, but the indie games are the reason why Switch has a prolonged life span, in my opinion.
I'd like an entirely new take on Eternal Darkness, not a remake, more like a sequel/spiritual sequel. I'm not sure who owns the IP, but having an awesome exclusive horror game on Nintendo platforms would be great.
@ATaco Sonly lead the charge because their «too big to fail» exclusive lineup, despite selling millions, did not make up for selling their console at a loss to begin with. Basic math.
Most likely it’s also a longer play, because everyone except Nintendo devalue their games within a year by going 50% + off way too early. Teaching their consumers that the games aren’t really worth full price.
Over the years, game prices have been somewhat different depending on country of residence. The Euro and dollar weren’t always the way they are now, comparably.
BOTW was a great value deal at 60. Will Tears be at 70? Quite possibly if 3d Zelda history is anything to go by. What I'm not keen about is the "we'll see" approach. PR speak is PR speak. I'd rather them just say that they haven't raised prices in 30 years, and that players will get their money's worth straight up. That would be simple to hold accountable afterwards.
Bayonetta Origins has me intrigued for this price point discussion. That's priced at 60. I'm loving the demo, but I wonder how it will stand up as a full release.
Hard to rank a self-insert character in any other way than visual design. From that point toon Link stands out the most, as the others are more plays on each other.
Enjoyed some of the observations other characters had of Link in BOTW, detailed in their diaries, (all the champions had "hidden diaries lol".

@RobTheIII
My mistake, you were talking about Speedstorm.
That game is still broken with gacha mechanics.
Re: Disney Dreamlight Valley Reveals "Updated 2023 Content Roadmap"
@RobTheIII Have you not seen the premium store or the star paths?
Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Squeeze Another Zelda Game Out Of TOTK's Open World?
Not anywhere near completing Tears, but unless it ends on a cliffhanger, I want something entirely different next time. See you all closer to 2030.
Back to the game.
Re: The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum Dev Apologises For "Underwhelming" Launch State
It’s too bad. A 10 hour adventure game would’ve been a better take with Gollum, I think.
The countless delays makes it obvious they had no good way to turn this ship around.
Should’ve figured this out during pre production.

@Sonicka Gta 5 performed fine on 360 and Ps3. Just saying.
Expecting the bare minimum is not expecting too much.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom "Hands On" Performance & Resolution Detailed
@Mattock1987 Yes, invest full price in a game without considering what's in previews.... That's why crap such as Scarlet Violet sells 20 million.
Spend money first, cope afterwards.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom "Hands On" Performance & Resolution Detailed
@CharlieGirl This still runs 100x better than Scarlet and violet, to be fair. Doesn't change that this is bad.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom "Hands On" Performance & Resolution Detailed
Expected, but disappointing still. Sucks that playing the game on its native console will be th worst way to play the game.

@Mando44646 what’s even worse thy have a premium store based entirely om FOMO timed roations with prices that equal other F2P nightmares.
Re: Disney Speedstorm Revs Up For Release With Founder's Pack Trailer
Gameloft's other "early access" game on Switch, Dreamlight Valley, is a crashfest.
This will also be a game with predatory microtransactions and FOMO tactics.

Sort of a given marketing tactic that involves very little actual work. Easy money, simple FOMO tactics.
