I haven't played this yet, despite owning it on PC.
Good thing to see another mature game on Switch. Only wish it had come earlier and closer to the original release - for the sake of marketing.

@sketchturner My thoughts exaxtly. Super Mario Land 2 is the perfect 2d Mario. To add to your points:

• Game lenght is «just right». Perfectly paced and no mechanics get old. A bit smaller than other 2d Marios, but I’d rather have it be shorter and better than longer and bloated.
• Memorable and unique music that hasn’t bern reused.
• Wario

It’s not a bug, but a true Bethesda feature.

What a mess. Didn’t this also launch with a gamebreaking progression bug?

Here a cool idea; release single player games in a finished state, or not at all.
Especially old games.

@Wexter I also want more focused experiences. Problem is Ubisoft overall though, after the revelations last year, I don't really want to give that company money.
Mario Rabbits looks freaking awesome, though. Seems to be a ton of passion in that project, despite the corporate overlords being buttfaces.

Since we're almost going off-topic, I'll add something Nintendo spesific; I really wish they'd compete a bit on console specs. They could sell so much more third party content if they did. My non-qualifications tell me they should sell enough software doing that, to make up for what they don't make on selling a low power system at a profit.

@Wexter I'm one of those lucky ones who didn't play Unity until it was fixed. Enjoyed it more than Syndicate. Finished Origins with dlc and now on Odyssey - so much bloat crap content It's a chore.

@Mando44646 AC1 is so bad compared to 2, but I understand your sentiment. Getting Unity and Syndicate running on Switch would be a nightmare, though. Both Paris and London are filled with stuff, removing details for performance would really impact the "feel" of both.

@MrMichaelJames On third party games that have already been discounted to hell it's really annoying.
That's the thing though, a lot of people have an Xbox or a PS as main console. Those who only have Switch don't really have a choice. Seen the newest Skyrim?

@Divide_and_Wander I'd say it's a great amount of content for 50% off, if you've never dipped into Assassin's Creed before.
Played all of them, up to Odyssey, which I'm grinding away at.

A waste of everyone’s time and money. Lame fomo marketing ploy, that leaves most of those who are interested unsatisfied.

@Dizavid Graphical fidelity and performance are also part of how you experience a game. It’s obvious that Sonic Frontiers on Switch will be an inferior version. That is fine as long as it’s not a bad version, with input lag, bugs or crashes.

@Deemo37 we got «Might Pups Save adventure bay» as a gift. One of the first things that happened was a crash, for pressing the pause button. The game shipped that way, and wasn’t fixed for six months.

I believe we shouldn’t buy crap games for our kids, even if they like it for a moment or two. That only teaches crap companies that we’re willing to spend money on crap.

Super Lucky’s Tail or Mario Odyssey on assist mode are great for this sort of situation.

@RareFan They're not even that "cheap", but they make a ton of box office cash, and probably 2-4x that in overpriced merchandise.

For Twilight Princess "Yeah, you gotta buy this old game and an old outdated console, and if you want the best possible exprience you have to dump the game and play it on an emulator with custom settings and a wide screen fix".
"Yeah, Ocarina was revulutionary for its time, but it only ran at 25 fps and has no free camera, and the best version is not on Switch but on 3ds".

Thankfully, Zelda isn't kingdom hearts in terms of continuity. That's why I think it's best to introduce a new player to the latest entry, BOTW. That might make it EASIER for the person to work their way backwards later, and appreciate where it all came from.

@ModdedInkling Ease of access could be a factor.

I'd advice anyone to try Breath of the Wild first. Only because it is the newest and hasn't really shown its age yet.
After that I'd tell them to try whatever is easiest to get a hold of.
If they're new Switch owners, it would make sense to show them Ocarina and Skyward Sword, then they just pick whatever appeals to them.

While the original multiplayer modes were fun, they’re likely a lot less played than the campaign.

A bit sad, to be sure, but it looks like the game will be great and bigger than the first one.

If you've never played the other games, pick them up on Steam or similar service first. This journey is fanstastic.

Gameplay was fun in the demo. Looked to have some depth.

Got my fingers crossed for all the Sonic fans out there that this is the game they've been waiting for. What I've seen looks fun.

It's obvious that anyone who owns a console that is not Switch should buy that version. A lower quality version is better than the recent cloud releases of certain games, at least.

@YoshiAngemon Nintendo's earn a ton on their consoles because of the cheap outdated hardware.
Sony and Microsoft don't. Some of the previous gens were even sold at a loss, while making it up in software sales.

I recently replayed Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour for PS1. The thought of what something like that could be on modern consoles makes me want to weep.

Early access from a small developer on Steam is one thing, also used to raise capital AND test the game, another is for a company swimming in microtransaction cash exploiting consumers.

Don’t buy special editions. The profit margins on those are insane for low quality cardboard and plastic.

Played Brilliant Diamond, and it frustrated me like no other game has. Really slow menus, horrible collision and graphics.

I give it my personal award "Most money made for least effort while exploiting a popular brand name and its fanbase"

While the original Overwatch was a fine game with great gameplay, it didn't have enough content to warrant a full price game.

I always thought it was a result of really good marketing.

Happy for JRPG fans, but how do they even finish these titles before dying of old age?

Gameplay wise, Origins and Legends were awesome, but because it was a bunch of stages, rather than having a story to follow, it's hard to distinguish them from each other. I'm still doing some of the invasions every now and then.

I'd love a return to 3d, or even a proper remaster so that the orignal games would work proper on current PCs. Something like the great treatment Crash and Spyro got for their trilogies.
