I don’t think the meaning of the gesture was the issue, so much as winning with zero grace. Don’t rub it in your opponent’s face when you win. That’s way more childish than a gesture itself.

@Andee I'm so scared to ever play FF7 remake or rebirth... Luckily the combat completely turns me off, so I'm unlikely to ever play them and ever have to deal with the other stuff I probably wouldn't like either (including the marathon of minigames you mention)

@Anti-Matter It doesn't suck, but the low-poly 3D is hideous compared to the pixel art. Matter of taste, but we've definitely moved on from early 3D tech, and pixel art has aged much better.

@KingMike Definitely fanfic business, and yep, definitely part of the issue was the "feature phone" format. Retconning and sequels are always a tricky business... That dovetails into your comment below about the DS version slamming details in your face with extra cutscenes and stuff, too. It's hard for devs to win with us, but... there's gotta be a way to do things tastefully and not so heavy-handedly.. (I say, but I have fantasies about doing an FFIV remake, and it's entirely possible I'd just do the same thing. Not that I'll ever actually be in a position to do one obviously.)

I guess they delayed it so not to conflict with Natsu-mon in August. Looks like I’ll be playing a summer vacation game and a winter vacation game this year! Assuming coal town is a winter deal…

They should do a barebones western release of powerful pro baseball. No MLB stats or crap, just the goofy Japanese game with translated text. And then be happy with whatever it sells! I had to walk uphill both ways!

@Andee the extra content from previous releases is junk anyway. It’s like getting mad when you buy a house because the previous owner had a garage sale and sold all their garbage. “Hey, I wanted the garbage with the house for that price!”

The prices are patently ludicrous. I do like the actual games tho. And certainly don’t miss the gba junk added content. I’m surprised people don’t get hurt about ffiv “the after years” not being included (it was bad too)

Nintendo should put stuff like this on switch online. Just do a overlay and frame style translation rather than hacking the rom to translate it (since we know they won’t work with fan translators)

@N64-ROX it wasn’t universally panned… lots of people really liked it. I enjoyed it a lot and thought Octopath 2 could have learned a thing or two from it.

I liked it, but I quit about halfway through in the middle of a mission. I don’t really want to start over and don’t really want to go back! So I guess I won’t play the DLC. Game had great ideas and great music. I’d play a sequel.

That’s way too expensive. Make something small that normal people can buy.

Yearly fee to play Roms I already bought on Wii and Wii U and 3ds kinda sucks, especially when they’re not all there. Not even all the first party ones are there.

I’m still trying to decide which cannon to play. If I’m gonna play both, it seems like I should do creation first. But I don’t know if I will. So it makes more sense to just do vengeance. But then I definitely won’t go back to play creation!
