@Axecon even switch is too big for me. It doesn’t fit into a pocket, and for me at least it’s really unwieldy to play any game that requires much reflex.

OG switch is already too big and unwieldy for me, and I’m not exactly a petite gentleman. I see children play this thing effectively with their tiny bodies and am surprised.

OG switch is too big to be portable or fit into a pocket. 3DS had some benefits I miss.

Id probably go for a cheaper, dock-only version of switch 2 if given the option.

I loved the side scrolling snes version as a kid, especially the music. Also the music is amazing. And by the way, the music…!

@JohnnyMind oh weird. I didn’t know you could even get gold points from boxed games. I’m not sure I’ve ever bought any within a year of their release date until now.

I was figuring it’s better to keep them wrapped until I play them, in case I end up not actually playing them. Which would be sad, but at least then I can sell them for more than if they were opened.

Yikes. I have some switch games I bought last year and haven’t opened because I haven’t been ready to play them yet. I’d cry if they’re not even in there considering my return window is long over.

That’s exciting. Hope it can at least keep pace with Fantasian and lost odyssey.

A great game? That’s setting the bar a little high considering Sonic games have struggled to even approach decent for the last 30 years.

Why don’t they market their games? Megaton Musashi is great, and no one knows it exists.

@MrCarlos46 I sure hope so! Comparing the (gone forever) 3DS eshop with the Switch eshop is dramatic. But then comparing the switch eshop with PS4/5/Xb1/Series is like... oof. Don't remember the Wii U eshop being that bad, but it probably was.

Being able to run the eshop without lag and slowdown would sure be a nice start actually.

Wow. Did we order this, or did Nintendo life? Whomever it was, they actually have taste.

My favorite game of 2022. I’ve been looking for an excuse to replay it, and this seems like a good one.

That said, gotta wonder why they didn’t just work on a sequel this far out. DLC for a 3 year-old game…

The switch can’t even run its own eshop without lag. It’s such a massive slog. Switch 2 will be the first Nintendo console that has a lag-free eshop. I hope!!!!

Blocking the crap would be a massive improvement.

Brother ship is good. It’s clever, makes sense for the duo, makes sense for the game, and it’s punny. Even is a play on mothership which again makes sense.

Imo it ticks all the boxes.

I hope it turns out! It sounds great on paper! Hope it’s coming to more than just switch tho.

@Cord well yeah, they’re not gonna reinvent the wheel on a classic. Have you played it? It’s great. And yes, it’s very similar to the original. You wanted them to make it an action game in full 3D? we knew what to expect.

@superdad64 it’s a big deal in the US, unfortunately. There’s a huge list of banned books that are either taken out of school and public libraries, or are kept in restricted sections. Many independent book stores fight against this by having a banned books week.

I’m kinda bummed the new one has real time combat. Maybe this one is turn-based to satisfy the traditional atelier fans?

@UltraBEAR 100% agree. There are journalists being killed and threatened for reporting on genocide. There are books being banned because they talk about being trans. That’s censorship. Doing new art for an old game isn’t censorship. The 1980s art was squished and squat in “superdeformed” style too. No one is complaining about the absence of that part. (Even tho it was cute!)

Nice. After dq 1-3, I’d still love to see 4-6 get the treatment, not to mention 7 and 8 are trapped on 3ds.

And there are so many other Square and Enix games, and other stuff they hold the IP rights to. So many would be great hd-2d remakes. (Or even just a budget remaster would be nice)

Lack of waypoints and objective markers is a plus for me. Man I get sick of games designed around that, totally gimped because they rely on the player automatically following the arrow to know where to go rather than telling the player.

Nintendo needs to stop outsourcing anyway. They used to develop internally. So did square Enix.

They need to do ff6 and give it as much love as dq3 got.

And then they need to do barebones, or at just remaster and release, the late super famicom square games that never saw western release, like bahamut lagoon, treasure of the rudras, treasure hunter g… That front mission side scroller too.

I didn’t know 8 was less about management and more about story. Sounds kinda fun tho. They should do a nobunaga’s ambition remake too. Fake japanese history is a little more familiar at this point than warring states China.
