Re: Opinion: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's Best Gameplay Feature Is Straight Out Of Mario's Playbook

I don’t think any rpg has emphasized it as much as Clair obscur tho (except maybe legend of dragoon).

The attack qtes (which you can turn off) aren’t too tough. But the dodge/parry/jump is tough. I am not good at it, but it can’t be turned off. Lowering the game difficulty makes the windows more manageable, but it also nerfs a bunch of other stuff that I don’t want nerfed.

Great game tho, and I think it would have been great without qtes too.

Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

@Dan420 and in addition to the “doesn’t work” or “being investigated” games, even the ones that work have mostly only undergone “does it boot and run?” testing and nothing more.

The minimum I really wanted from this system was backward compatibility with faster load times and some rudimentary up scaling… not this weird software backward compatibility and paid switch 2 versions

Re: Upgrade Pack Price For Zelda: BOTW And TOTK Has Been Confirmed

@Iconoclysm You can be as happy about it as you want. I'm not trying to yuck your yum. PS4 stuff worked out of the box, with some enhancements; Switch 1 stuff is not guaranteed to work, really, just to start. They've done super minimal testing, and lots of stuff still has issues. And there don't appear to be any enhancements out of the box without a patch, right? That's what I'm saying, and then you're saying it's the same as everything else when I'm highlighting where it's not the same.

Re: Upgrade Pack Price For Zelda: BOTW And TOTK Has Been Confirmed

@Iconoclysm I've never paid for any kind of upgrade, but all my PS4 stuff does run natively on PS5 with some enhancements out of the box (like faster loading and upscaling). I was expecting that with Switch 2, but it seems like a patch (free or otherwise) is required; and Switch 1 games aren't run natively, which adds all kinds of complications (thus their huge list about games that are still in the "testing" phase).

Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'

jesse_dylan

@Iconoclysm It's not "exactly" the same at all, though. The Switch 2 does not run Switch 1 games natively. It uses a mix of emulation. If games are patched to run natively on Switch 2, like Zelda, that's different. PS5 Xbox S/X run previous generation games natively, with some automatic enhancements. Switch 2 is not doing that.

Re: Digital Foundry Says Switch 2 Running Switch Games At 4K Is "Quite The Thing" In Performance Breakdown

@480frames-please for me, I never really expected it to be a powerful system; it’ll be outclassed quickly by new consoles or handhelds. I just expected it to natively run switch 1 games with some enhancements, and I expected some compelling new games. Got neither, plus it’s expensive. I’m having to wonder if it’s gonna be a flop, due more to price than anything.

@Andy_Witmyer I realize that, but I'm not impressed It sounds like it might require the NSO Expansion pack, or at least you get the Zelda upgrades with that. I do hope that other games either get free updates, or just have some automatic improvements (load times, upscaling). They're trying to nickel and dime everything with the Switch 2. They gotta do what they gotta do, but it doesn't mean I'm gonna be enthused about it.
