To anyone defending piracy - NEWSFLASH: "Dumping" or "Ripping" games is COPYING. And that is the very purpose of copyright - to protect original works.

When you legitimately obtain a copy of a game it DOES NOT entitle you to duplicate it. You have a single copy of said game in the medium which you obtained it in.

Think of all the time and effort that goes into creating an original work. Be it film, music, videogame, anything. Created for the very purpose of selling copies of it. To earn money back, and hopefully make a profit on it. As well of course creating a piece of art which adds to the tapestry of life.

Copyright is the protection against illegitimate duplication. Only the creator / lisence holder of it has the prerogative to make copies of it available.

If you are interested in something then support it. Legitimate consumption is the only metric that counts. Even for older content. How do you think sequels or new versions / revivals of old content will come about ? - Only through measurable consumption of the existing content via legitimate platforms.

Lastly - You are not entitled to demand something be made available to you, that is the prerogative of the owner. They may do with it what they please. Something being unavailable to obtain legitimate access to DOES NOT grant you the right to obtain it by illegitimate means.

@dartmonkey There are no issues if you are the Admin of a Family Group which has no Child accounts (that is my circumstance)

As long as you don't have any eShop credit then there is no issue (must have NSO Auto-Renewal turned off, and NNID unlinked) 👍

You do realise the terms "dumping" and "ripping" are used to avoid using the word "copy" ? Because that is exactly what happens. It's not possible to remove a rom image from a cartridge, only copy it. And I assume as a human of the world you are familiar with copyright laws ?

@SwitchForce These "base game + DLC" physical versions cost much more than the base games.

This is a similar situation to the recent Japan-only 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + Booster Course Pass' physical version which released before the final Wave of DLC, so will also require an update.

@PJ301178 so could the SNES play Game Boy games with an official cartridge adapter, but that isn't backwards compatibility with the previous generation of home console. SNES would've needed to be BC with NES games, and GameCube would've needed to be BC with N64 games
