Re: Switch 2 Black Friday Deals Are A Bit 'Meh', But Here Are The Best We've Seen

@darylb24

Argos is now doing the Mario Kart bundle for £30 off at £399.99. They usually now copy Amazon, so the price is probably also there.

sorry (not sorry) to potentially burst your proverbial bubble. but that is actually completely backwards 🙅 all Amazon ever does is price-match other retailers. that is literally their business model. they call it Amazon "dynamic pricing". basically means they only offer better prices if other retailers do.

support the retailers who originate offers. Amazon is a retailer killer. literally

an example right here on this page is the "Switch 2 console £385 Amazon" offer. the only reason Amazon have offered that price is because EE offered it - https://ee.co.uk/products/nintendo-switch-2-console

yet another example right on this page is the "Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle £404.95 Amazon" offer. the only reason Amazon had that price is because TheGameCollection offered it - https://www.thegamecollection.net/products/nintendo-switch-2-mario-kart-world-bundle-switch-2 - but what you wouldn't get at Amazon that you would at TGC is £10 back in Reward Points to spend freely on anything else they sell 🤷 - Amazon is constantly price-matching TheGameCollection, it's easy to spot as all TGC prices end in 95p

Amazon has since price-matched Argos with the £399.99 offer

@Cakefish i got the same ! 👍

actually it has been beaten today by ShopTo on eBay = £349 using the discount code shown on the page https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/177268976475

also TopCashBack has had 15% eBay cashback today only which allows use of the aforementioned eBay discount code. so that would make it an absolutely incredible effective price as long as it comes through (cashback is never guaranteed)

Re: Switch 2 Black Friday Deals Are A Bit 'Meh', But Here Are The Best We've Seen

@NintendoLife @JimNorman if you want to display the percentage saving for this offer as a saving of 12%

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle + 12-month Nintendo Switch Online Membership + Yoshi Ornament - £429.99 (-12%), My Nintendo Store

then you need to adjust the percentage savings for the other Mario Kart World Bundle offers (to also account for the MKW Bundle saving over the cost of buying the solus console + separate game)

else that My Nintendo Store offer needs to be shown as a 5.7% saving:

£429.99 + £17.99 + £7.99 = £455.97

£429.99 ÷ £455.97 = 0.943

= 5.7% saving

@Broch83 can pre-order it for less than full price !!! 🥳 + free metal keychain from ShopTo.net / TheGameCollection.net / Hit.co.uk 🤩👍

possible 5% discount via a ShopTo referral link (mine: https://www.shopto.net/?stref=48411)

i believe Currys have the lowest pre-order price (10% discount at checkout) but no keychain sadly

Currys also have a good price on the PowerA themed S2 case £13.99 (£17.99 elsewhere)

@IronMan30 @Lucius6 but there are ! Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle + Donkey Kong Bananza (physical) for £439.99 at Very is a saving of £56.99 over RRP 💪

Switch 2 console (solus) + Donkey Kong Bananza (physical) for £409 is a saving of £53.98 over RRP

Costco (membership required) has a crazy in-store offer on the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle at £359.98 😮 saving £70 over RRP 🫢

Re: Nintendo's Black Friday Offers Include Deals On Switch 1 Games, amiibo, And More

jco83

@NintendoLife @JimNorman many of your UK console prices are wrong; Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle has been £409 / £409.99 from multiple retailers, for a number of weeks now.

£409: EE, John Lewis, AO, Currys, Amazon, Very.
£409.99: Smyths, Argos.

ℹ️ also: EE has had Switch 2 standalone at £385 / Switch 2 Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle at £415, for some time now.

Argos offer a "£5 off £40 spend" code if you sign up to their email marketing. you can find the offer on their homepage, just scroll down the page some way.

the original Switch version of the game is priced £41.99, so using a £5 off code makes it £36.99 💪

the "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" version of the game is priced £51.99, so £46.99 using £5 off 💪

(Argos also offer a "£5 off your next app order of £50 or more", also displayed on their homepage)

free Click & Collect of course (delivery costs extra)

Re: Where To Pre-Order Metroid Prime 4: Beyond For Nintendo Switch 1 + 2, Plus New Metroid amiibo

jco83

@CaptChaos this is actually the 1st NS2E first-party game where the base game is standard price-tier (£49.99 RRP), which doesn't have additional "+DLC" content included with the Upgrade Pack (as seen with Mario Party Jamboree & Kirby Forgotten Land, which bumped their NS2E price up further).

both Zelda games are higher price-tier base games (£59.99 RRP).

yes it seems Mario Galaxy + Mario Galaxy 2 is a higher price-tier game (£58.99 RRP), but it is available from various retailers for ~£49.99 👍

Re: Where To Pre-Order Metroid Prime 4: Beyond For Nintendo Switch 1 + 2, Plus New Metroid amiibo

jco83

@JimmyFleck yes it's no secret this is an original Switch game which also has a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" release (original game + Upgrade Pack). and yes the Upgrade Pack is available to purchase separately.

but remember that NS2E cartridge games do also work in original Switch consoles. so you can buy the NS2E physical game and play it on S2 consoles & original Switch consoles [without S2 upgrades]

Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Sells 1 Million Copies

jco83

the physical cartridge version has been a great price from Amazon US for a long time time now $24.88.

and it still works out pretty decent including international delivery, the total price delivered to the UK is currently £28.40 (that's including shipping & VAT) 👍

[only a "Code In A Box" version available in Europe]

Re: 79 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In The eShop 'Blockbuster Sale' (Europe)

jco83

physical version of Cyberpunk 2077 has been £44.95 for the past one week from TheGameCollection https://www.thegamecollection.net/products/cyberpunk-2077-ultimate-edition-switch-2 free RM24 delivery (+£1 back in Reward Points for registered accounts). and Amazon price-matched them.

also available for £44.85 from Hit https://hit.co.uk/products/cyberpunk-2077-ultimate-edition-nintendo-switch-2

Re: PSA: Switch Online Offering "Two Bonus Months" With 12-Month Memberships (Europe)

jco83

@Bass_X0 it's actually £26.85 👍 (the slightly lower price is only if you're a "gold member"). but ShopTo is a great place to buy NSO membership. especially the higher priced memberships! 💪

NSO+EP Family membership is £59.99 Nintendo price, but it's around ~£45 from ShopTo 😮 that's a ~£15 saving! 🥳

actually, both the NSO+EP Individual membership & standard NSO Family membership are also ~25% less than Nintendo price 🤑

Re: New Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Physical Switch Release Spotted

jco83

@Itsashame

Is it actually confirmed somewhere that it is indeed a full collection that doesn't require a Download?

no

Here (in the Netherlands) there are several webshops that have always had a box art picture listed without download required info, but it was still the same version as everywhere else.

exactly . . . everyone who shops online for Nintendo Switch games should know this . . .

Re: New Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Physical Switch Release Spotted

jco83

anyone believing this to be true is absolutely crazy, i'm sorry to say (and no offence intended 🙏).

do you really believe Take2 would do this . . . ?

it obviously is a new 'Code In A Box' release, just as @premko1 said, and @ferryb001 mentioned.

please don't delude yourselves otherwise, people 🙏

@Razzy thank you for your reply 🙏 https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=legissum:mi0016

can you explain how making a back-up copy is necessary for its use ?

in order to fit this law

@Jumping_Dead hate this argument. They absolutely lose sales. I should know because I've been using this exact site for 7+ years and have pirated hundreds of games. If I couldn't pirate them I would have had to buy them.

😮 ohmygoodness. are you for real ? 🤦

@jco83 I think it's covered under Directive 2009/24/EC of the European Parliament: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/eudr/2009/24/body

"The making of a back-up copy by a person having a right to use the computer program may not be prevented by contract in so far as it is necessary for that use."

thankyou for your reply 👍

how is making a back-up of a game necessary for its use ?
