@Big_Fudge Special Edition consoles including the game are gone now. gives the customer the choice of what format they buy the game in: digital/physical [/collector's edition (if one exists)]. console price can be lower than what it would be if it included the game. makes way more sense

@Big_Fudge i can understand that when the console is based on and named after a specific game, but this console does not do that - in fact there is no mention of the new Zelda game anywhere on the box 🙂 (not even the word Zelda)

for the Switch OLED tLoZ:TotK Special Edition console, here in the UK / Europe it was absolutely ridiculous how tiny and obscure the writing on the box was saying the game wasn't included (so tiny it could make you think it was done intentionally)

go look at the image of the UK/Euro box and see if you can see it. i know the American version made it fairly obvious and prominent

@WiltonRoots not completely different, no. Nintendo do have pricing tiers. Nintendo's US standard price tier is $59.99. UK standard price tier is £49.99.

lower price tier: US $49.99. UK £39.99

higher price tier: US $69.99. UK £59.99

US only started having a higher price tier with Tears Of The Kingdom, everywhere else has had a higher price tier since the Switch launch (March 2017) for Breath Of The Wild, and again for Super Smash Bros Ultimate (US has always had these games at their standard price tier 🧐)

i believe there is another game which is in the higher price tier but it's only available in Japan (it may be a Dragon Quest game ?)

there is an even lower price tier for Metroid Prime Remastered: US $39.99, UK £34.99.
i'm not sure if Nintendo have any other games at this price point

the whole issue over JK Rowling was a hate campaign pure and simple. anyone taking part was simply jumping on a bandwagon out of fear of receiving the same hate as her. such a sad situation. i honestly thought this was widely known now, meaning the hate campaign movement is quashed FAIAP

i really hope @NintendoLife look into the situation further so they may see this for themselves. and hopefully reconsider what is now considered by many to be a very questionable position to maintain

That is exactly the point I am making ! America is THE ONLY REGION which didn't start off with the higher price point EVERY OTHER REGION DID ! but seems no one talks about it. Absolutely no point talking about exchange rates and all else you mention, every region obviously has its own price points. The point is: every region other than America has had a higher price point for BotW & SSBU since release. The end

@Ryu_Niiyama because it should be being reported on as introducing PRICE PARITY with the rest of the world. When EVERY other country IN THE WORLD has had a higher price point for BotW & SSBU, America was fortunate to have been singled out and not given the higher price point (until TotK).

So American customers should actually be thankful for their LOWER price point for said prior games compared to everyone else, and only now seeing the higher price point for TotK.

Nintendo didn’t up its prices, it’s pretty irritating seeing this still being peddled. Nintendo merely brought America in-line with the rest of the ENTIRE world . . . ALL other countries had a higher price point for Breath of The Wild and Smash Ultimate, but for some reason America did not have a higher price point for these games. So all Nintendo did was deciding to not continue this with Tears of the Kindom. So now America has a higher price point just like EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD ! EXCEPT they still have Breath of the Wild and Smash Ultimate at the standard price point ! So consider yourselves fortunate !! 🤓

If you are the Admin of a Family Group with any Child/Supervised accounts in the group you shouldn't change your account country to US or Quebec as they would need re-authenticating)
