Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

@PharoneTheGnome

The reality about downloaded games is that ALL gaming services go offline eventually. Every company takes down their servers at some point.

Playstation shut down the PS Vita. Nintendo shut down the 3DS and WiiU. They all do it.

the actual reality is that ALL digital purchases can still be redownloaded now. even original Wii digital purchases can still be redownloaded to this day . . .

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

@Mikey_205 it isn't what i'm saying, it's what @Zuljaras and Nintendo's website are saying: that after fully downloading the game, the first time you launch the game an internet check is required.

(my original reply to Zuljaras misunderstood their original comment to mean internet is required every time you launch the game).

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

jco83

@Zuljaras

You forgot to mention that it requires internet connection the first time you START the game as well. It is not only for download.

isn't that false info ? Nintendo said Game-Key Cards behave the same as full cartridge games

Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Is Confirmed As A Launch Title For Switch 2

jco83

so the only third-party proper physical games so far are Cyberpunk 2077 and two or three "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" games like Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma & Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/every-physical-third-party-switch-2-game-seen-in-japan-so-far-is-a-game-key-card-requiring-a-download (as reported yesterday from Japan).

*edit: also Daemon X Machina western release https://x.com/marveloususa/status/1915448652371550415

Re: Nintendo Confirms Upgrade Pack Price For Two More 'Switch 2 Edition' Titles

@timp29

I assume once your expansion pass ends, you lose the access?

correct. that is how subscription benefits work.

but FYI it is called "Expansion Pack" membership.

not to be confused with "Expansion Pass" which is the name of the DLC for Zelda Breath of the Wild (also several other games including Pokémon Sword & Shield, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity)

Re: Street Fighter 6 For Switch 2 Is Going For Cheap On Amazon Right Now (UK)

jco83

@Stwert nice 👍 i've just seen the Lexar 512 GB & 1TB cards available. i was fortunate to order the Samsung 256GB for £36.60 when Amazon had it that price.

256GB at £90 is a joke. many retailers have the Nintendo branded SanDisk & Samsung card preorders for £50 - MyNintendoStore, Smyths, TheGameCollection, HMV, ShopTo, maybe others.

Re: Physical 'Switch 2 Editions' Confirmed To Have Everything On The Game Card, Says Nintendo

jco83

https://x.com/Nintendeal/status/1911885106568126750 i don't know where this image came from (whether it's official) but if accurate, shows Switch 2 cartridges can fit in Switch . . . so this could mean Switch 2 Edition games may be playable on Switch (without the upgraded content) . . . and it also opens up the potential for Nintendo to create brand new games which can run on both Switch 2 and Switch 😁👍

Re: 'Switch 2 Editions' Are Supposedly A Switch Game Card And Download Code For The Upgrade Pack

@dartmonkey seeing as there was this initial report but it didn't show the question the person had asked ⚠️ and then 2 subsequent reports both stating these S2E physical games do come all on the cart . . . it seems only right to add a proper update to this article reflecting that . . .

the original report itself was only from a customer service rep anyway. but the fact the question asked was not visible, makes it unreliable . . .

the two subsequent reports are clearly talking about S2E physical games.

no reason not to update this article 🙂

you can always post a new article when you receive confirmation yourselves 💪

Re: Rumour: Placeholder Retail Listing Suggests Switch 2 Price Might Be Cheaper Than Expected

jco83

@Overzeal it isn't so much the conversions of 500 CAD that matter, more the differences in MSRP of current console

For reference, the Switch OLED model currently retails for $449.99 CAD / $348.99 USD / £309.99 GBP respectively.

can see the difference between Switch OLED at 450 CAD and this possible Switch2 price 500 CAD, is +⅑

so do the same to the US / EU Switch OLED MSRP and you get ~390 USD / EUR

(Nintendo's EUR & USD numbers match, FYI 🕵️‍♂️)

and do the same for UK Switch OLED RRP and you get ~345 GBP

Re: Rumour: Placeholder Retail Listing Suggests Switch 2 Price Might Be Cheaper Than Expected

jco83

@Medic_alert this article is about the Canadian price possibly being 500 CAD

and the article states

499 Canadian dollars converts to around 350 USD / 280 GBP at the time of writing

and

the Switch OLED model currently retails for $449.99 CAD / $348.99 USD / £309.99 GBP respectively.

Nintendo Switch2 hybrid console will not be comparable to PS5 home console & Xbox Series X home console

there is absolutely no reason to think Switch2 could be priced £500 🙂

it'll likely be around £350

I'm unsure why £280 is being touted when the article has a much more accurate conversion to use:

"For reference, the Switch OLED model currently retails for $449.99 CAD / $348.99 USD / £309.99 GBP respectively."

If $450 CAD = £310, then $500 CAD would be £344. If that holding price proves accurate, I would expect the UK launch price to be £349.99, which is not unrealistic.
