The reality about downloaded games is that ALL gaming services go offline eventually. Every company takes down their servers at some point.

Playstation shut down the PS Vita. Nintendo shut down the 3DS and WiiU. They all do it.

the actual reality is that ALL digital purchases can still be redownloaded now. even original Wii digital purchases can still be redownloaded to this day . . .

@Mikey_205 it isn't what i'm saying, it's what @Zuljaras and Nintendo's website are saying: that after fully downloading the game, the first time you launch the game an internet check is required.

(my original reply to Zuljaras misunderstood their original comment to mean internet is required every time you launch the game).

You forgot to mention that it requires internet connection the first time you START the game as well. It is not only for download.

so it looks like CD Projekt Red (Cyberpunk 2077) and Marvelous are the only ones supporting game-on-cart releases in the west . . . hopefully other publishers will decide to take this route🤞

but FYI it is called "Expansion Pack" membership.

@Gohanjin i just feel that Currys offering that big a discount on launch games for a brand new platform isn't realistic. Amazons cheaper prices for Samsung microSD Express 256GB card, Piranha Plant Camera, Bravely Default & Street Fighter, have been due to them all being EU stock 🧐 (not UK stock)

i don't understand why people are presuming Currys will do 20% off Switch 2 games 🤔 . . . Switch 2 is a brand new console release. IMO there is no reason at all to think they will do that 🤷

these are Euro version releases. they are sold by Amazon EU. they did have their correct product images when they were initially listed, the images showed French language at the bottom of the case. so the back will be French language also. the game will be Euro-wide version of course, so support all European languages.

so do the same to the US / EU Switch OLED MSRP and you get ~390 USD / EUR

and do the same for UK Switch OLED RRP and you get ~345 GBP

I'm unsure why £280 is being touted when the article has a much more accurate conversion to use:

If $450 CAD = £310, then $500 CAD would be £344. If that holding price proves accurate, I would expect the UK launch price to be £349.99, which is not unrealistic.
