@Mountain_Man Thank you !
I might wait for a sale that's more enticing then (20% off but still $55 on the French eShop) . I've got some back catalog to clear out anyway...
Still haven't finished the Blood and Wine part, the grind is a bit too steep. Found myself dying so many times when I didn't have any problems for the rest of the game.
For someone who doesn't have a PS4 or XBoxOne or a gaming PC and who has never watched gameplay videos of this game, is it really THAT ugly or underperforming ? Asking for a friend who's seen a sale for it on the eShop.
@RustedHero Playing 1-1 repeatedly is also a strategy. You can use the underground shortcut to 1) get coins (thus making level grinding easier) 2) avoid all the enemies your attackers sent you (very useful not to have to deal with 2 bowsers, bloopers and flying fish at the same time!) 3) you waste less time completing a course and 4) your course clear count goes up faster
The game is great but should have been a little better optimised, especially the Crypt section. Otherwise, except for a few effects here and there (THE HAIR!) it's a stunning game.
I'd love to dive into SV, but all those news about updates and enriched content make me worry a bit, am I not going to be a bit swamped at the beginning, in comparison to early players?
So there are 15M+ Switches/Switches Lite out there in Japanese households with still "only" 5,8M Animal Crossing copies sold. I guess it's far from being over.
As for FIFA... 39K vs 37K for ACNH... now that will be over in a week.
THIS is the background depth I've always thought BotW's plot and setting lacked. I know the whole plot relies on faint reminiscences of a glorious past and that the game is set in a post-conflict Hyrule where almost everything is destroyed or everyone dead — but to me it just felt as if they they sprinkled the whole map with the same sets of ruins here and there (and the occasional traveler with a campfire) to make it look less empty. I mean, even the Chozo Ruins in Metroid Prime felt more lively.
I'm really looking forward to this Warriors now! It really does feel like a legitimate game in the Zelda saga and less than a Musou variation with custom skins like the first one somehow felt (however enjoyable it was). It's also a good thing that it focuses on just one game rather than the first one which kinda mixed all Zelda games, from OoT to SS, becoming very confusing story wise.
English being a second language, I remember I wondered why the 's was there and not after "Kong". Then I also remembered my lessons about the genitive, and thought, well, "it's Diddy's quest, and that quest is described as being kong". Which didn't make sense either. A few years later when coming across that title again and reading it out loud for the first time in years I understood the 'kongquest / conquest' play on words. Still think it's a reach though.
I've always seen Halloween as the festival of mismatched ugly colours, and this update doesn't disappoint (please don't look at my avatarthankyou). Love the farming update, hope there's more to it in a few months!
We know Saber will keep working on technical updates like this, that's so cool. I'll still wait for a little while though (just finished another FPS and might play something else in between)
It does look cool but it also looks like you'll only come across braindead Bokoblins and an occasional Moblin (which is already 68% of BotW's enemy roster).
@prizm
*Admits they played 10 minutes of a game which is not even past the tutorial section
*Gives general comment about the whole trilogy
(ok I'm biased, but give MP2 a try!)
I'm happy with that list. SM64 obviously holds a special place for paving the way for its successors, but it has been surpassed by far two or three times already.
Odyssey is, as mentioned in the article, what SM64 would be like if it had been released now. The games are very similar. Galaxy offers great gameplay but it is still very linear and sometimes feels quite constricted. Sunshine also gives another great example of large levels, but the tropical theme is maybe a bit boring after some time.
I actually never finished SMG2 because I lost interest at some point. It felt like playing SMG1 level rejects with nothing extra to me, and the space theme got old. So I'm not particularly bitter it didn't make the cut in the collection, but I'm sorry Nintendo didn't include it anyway as it's a fan favourite. They really are messing with the fans.
@shazbot Exactly. There would be a set of items that all characters could use plus an extra ability/weapon or two that would depend on the character you've selected (juste like in Double Dash, can't remember if they kept it for MK8).
I guess developers apologising for the broken game they've just put out is slowly being set into a new norm. I can't even imagine the pressure put on them to release games as planned regardless of the global situation right now.
I love that Venus shared these body-positive skins while selling razors in real life. 'K ladies, it's okay to celebrate your natural body but please, nobody wants to see your naturally growing body hair'.
The pandemic era comment regarding the absence of crowd made me giggle.
I haven't played a 'serious' golf game in a while and this one seems to do the job. This kind of game usually gets discounts after a few months so I'll wait.
That FF spoiler is the most open secret in video gaming and not knowing it borders on video game ignorance (even if, like me, you didn't play it — I was already team Nintendo at the time — and I learned about it when even my straightest male friends discussed it at school, crying).
That said I don't really care for Pattinson's eyebrows. Give me a non-aging Ben Affleck instead.
@FargusPelagius I was referring to the SNES title, which may be called differently depending on where you live (in Europe it's Mystic Quest Legend). Me mentioning GB titles in that comment was probably confusing.
And Final Fantasy : Mystic Quest [edit: on SNES] keeps being forgotten. Not that it's a great game, but if you resurrect GameBoy games you might as well re-release this one too.

Skin tone-wise it didn't even look like it was HIS meat but that he was about to enjoy someone else's.

Re: Luigi Can Be Unlocked As A Secret Playable Character In Super Mario Bros. 35
The game gets better and more challenging after a few weeks, once a lot of players have unlocked the more advanced levels.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 17th)
Dragon Quest 11. Played for a few hours but already experienced a few nice plot twists. The fights are a bit boring though.

@Giancarlothomaz @SuperCharlie78 Yes I assumed that. Still wondering why we don't have any more specific data on digital sales.

Re: Video: The Monster Hunter Movie's First Official Trailer Is Here
The Anderson/Jovovich team makes good b-list movies. Quite enjoyable with a pizza and coke on a cold winter night.
Re: First Impressions: Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition On Switch
I so want to play this as dennis nedry (but he gets to live)
Re: Random: Someone Made A Manual For Super Mario 3D All-Stars To "Complete The Physical Set"
I would have bought the official release for $10 more if Nintendo had done something like that. Enough with the key chains!
Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.5.1 Patch Notes - Fixes Some Bugs
"Fixed an issue where animal residents would talk about pumpkins when given a bamboo shoot."
That wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've heard them talk about. Even in non-bugged situations.

Finally, some humour.
The Zelda series has always taken itself too seriously.

They should have ditched one of the forest/plains stages for a Nether one. Feels a bit redundant. Looking great anyway!

Pikmin Warriors.
But you would control the hundreds of mobs instead and send them all fight against one enemy at once. Oh, wait...

Re: Video: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Looks Miles Better Than The Originals, And Here's The Proof
Why does Mario 64 look so weird in this video? It looks like Mario 32... I can't remember playing a game that pixellated back then on my N64.

Re: The 'Super' Mario Kart Tour Event Starts Today, Celebrating The Series' SNES Beginnings
I've been saying for a long time now that Nintendo needs to drop the "Mario-only" universe for his kart games and do a Nintendo Kart instead.
Then on a future iteration bring characters from other licenses just like Smash Bros.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Getting A Deluxe 'Treasure Box' Edition In Japan
@Ratking it’s basically Hyrule Warriors 2, set in the BoTW universe. Coming this November
Re: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition Might Be Coming To Nintendo Switch
I play it on PC every now and then. There's always a time when the urge to drop people into a lion's den comes back.

Re: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Is Coming To Switch In 'Summer 2021', Following A PS4 Debut In February
Enough with the useless goodies. Give us paper instruction booklets. Bring them back. Make them the norm again. I'd even pay $-€10 more for them.
