Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity might look similar to any other Musou game, but Koei Tecmo says it's much more than this.

At the online-only Tokyo Game Show last weekend, three members of the team discussed how they've worked "very closely" with Nintendo's Zelda team, who supervised all the work and were "100 times" more involved with this game than the original Hyrule Warriors.

It's been such a good experience, Koei Tecmo producer and head of Team Ninja, Yosuke Hayashi, said he hoped the team would be able to make "more interesting games" like this in the future. Here's the full translation, courtesy of Oni_Dino:

"We started development on Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity after Eiji Aonuma of Nintendo approached us. We thought we were done with Hyrule Warriors games, at least for the time being. The first game was like a celebration of Zelda and was full of characters from throughout the series. But then he approached us with this great idea, and here we are working on this amazing game. I’m sure it’s in-line with everyone’s expectations, and I’m excited for players to experience it. I hope we can make more interesting games like this in the future."

Obviously, that last line is open to interpretation, but it's now got us wondering what other IP or games Koei Tecmo could potentially work on in the future. Surely we're not the only ones who want a Musou-style Animal Crossing game?!

What other Nintendo IP would you like to see Koei Tecmo work with in the future? Do you want to see more Musou-style games or something else? Share your thoughts down below.
