Beyond all that, it's basic manners. If you can't understand that, well...
Of course they should be credited for their work. The game wouldn't exist or be remastered if it weren't for them. The team who worked on the remaster got paid thanks to the original team.
In the music business, this wouldn't stand a chance in a trial, what's more, the original creators would actually get royalties.
Cassettes have never really stopped being around. Indie bands or artists use them as a collector item to enhance their sales. For the last few years bigger, major artists have caught on and done the same and it’s almost unthinkable not to release that format now sales wise.
Tape players (portable or not) are back in stores too, even though manufacturers are less in a hurry to bring them back on their production lines as tapes are still a niche-oriented format and not always intented to actually be listened to.
Really wanted to get Dredge after reading the review but the demo was quite a put-off for me so I don’t know now. It plays like a never ending loop. I’ll probably wait for a sale.
Instantly subscribed, yes and thank you. I come here daily, sometimes more than once. I really love the atmosphere here and the original takes on the gaming world. I don't know how to get that little infinite icon next to my name but that's fine.
As "Atelier" means "workshop" in French, I've always thought this saga was about people working in some arts and crafts shop. As if the Mable Sisters from Animal Crossing had a 14-game spinoff series.
Preordered mine just to be sure, will collect it later today. I'll go and check for in-store availability at the same time. It comes with an A2-sized poster here at Fnac.
Well it's spandex. What did you expect.
Newsflash : men have external genitalia.

1) Scalpers exist because buyers exist too.
2) Buying from scalpers shows people are ready to hand off $90+ for a game and gives an excuse to raise retail prices.
3) Nearly 1.5M copies were sold in the USA 20 years ago. There's no way Nintendo did not anticipate this. Or the American branch is just really clueless.
4) Let's hope for a remaster of 2 and 3, if they're not already underway. I'm really happy the Metroid franchise gets a second (or third) wind these days!
The most terrifying thing is Nintendo's logic when you consider they thought that should be part of the starting roster of games for the GB NSO catalogue to make people want to subscribe.
I'm so happy this game was released. I would have bought it even though it was just a port with nothing extra (and I will buy the physical edition as well). They really knocked it out of the park and put all the other ports or self-proclaimed remasters to shame.
I'va almost finished my 'first' play through and am still amazed by the level design. How it looks labyrinthine but is really a one-way deal. It's also the first time I'll fight the final boss with 100% of the items.
I'm so thankful that I wouldn't mind if MP2 and 3 never see the light of the day again, in a way or another. Re-releasing the 'trilogy' wouldn't make sense either, since MP is now a tetralogy.
This series of book reminds me of the 33 1/3 collection about music (which incidentally includes the Mario Bros soundtrack — https://333sound.com/33-13-series). I might check them out.
I used to come up with some fantasy-based character names (like (Thörk or Osvan or whatever) that I carried over different games. But now I usually type in my own name or nickname (those were too long for the SNES era when you were usually limited to 5 or 6 characters or digits for your screen name).
Then after a few hours of gameplay I start another file with a usually rude and/or silly name but I never finish it.
Nintendo (2022) : Let's not release this, there's a conflict in Ukraine.
Nintendo (2023) : It's the one-year anniversary of that conflict in Ukraine, let's release this.
Started playing last night and was instantly thrown back. The controls are OK after a few minutes. The graphics look crisp without that trademark N64 anti-aliasing and fog that muddied all up at the time.
I don't get why people compare it to shooters released today. This game is 25 years old. It's as if people complained about having to press Y to change objects in A Link To The Past the day BOTW was released.
Compare their legacies. Wait for another 20 years and see if they had the same impact today as GoldenEye 20 years did ago. Hell, even The Guardian wrote a piece about this re-release.
The gong appears in almost every track of the game in various pitched iterations. It would have been very weird not to hear it. I've always described it as "banging on a pipe".
As the article says, the composers did a very good and thorough job using that sound which is quintessentially Eric Serra's trademark in his film scores — Try listening to the scores from 'The Big Blue' or 'The Fifth Element'.
I could open a Museum Of The Rusty Sword if such an option was available in BOTW with all the ones I came upon during my play through.
Just give us an Unbreak-able magic amulet to equip or unequip when we want once we beat the game so that we can play the endgame without having to revisit Hyrule Castle for some A-Tier weapon every time.
Even though it makes most sense playing BOTW before TOTK is released, I won't be playing it. The games look too similar in terms of atmosphere and design, and knowing myself I'll get bored halfway through TOTK.
Unless Nintendo really turned it into something very different. Which I'm quite confident for actually!
I know the temple is half-demolished in the game, but when you try to port that to a Lego build, it looks half-finished. The photos that show the intact parts of the temple (from its right) look better in my opinion. And out of all the Zelda franchise I don't think this is the most iconic or scenic building to recreate.
This throws me back to when I used to buy monthly gaming magazines on my way back from school before taking the bus home, and when the previews about the 'Ultra 64' were all the rage in the schoolyard. <3
I like Kalimari Desert, that Sydney track and Waluigi Pinball.
I'm a bit disappointed with Sky-High Sundae. First off all I'm not fond of food-based OR sky-themed levels in video games so it wasn't off a good start in my book. Then I think the verticality of the track could have been so much more spectacular. Take for instance Shy Guy Falls, Mount Wario or Big Blue. In Sky-High Sundae you just jump off ramps for most of the track and never get to have an open view of the course, which feels so little when it could have been epic. The only thing that would make be go back to it (willingly) is the all-antigravity track.
