Update (Fri 11th Sep, 2020 11:15 BST): Koei Tecmo's website has now updated, giving us our first look at the contents of the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity deluxe edition release in Japan.
You can check it out for yourself below. Pre-orders are now live on Koei Tecmo's site for those living in Japan, but you can also find it on Amazon Japan which ships to a number of different countries worldwide.

Original Article (Wed 9th Sep, 2020 10:30 BST): Nintendo hasn't been shy about launching fancy deluxe editions of its games recently, especially when it comes to the Zelda series, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the latest to be treated to a special day-one release.
Yes, following in the footsteps of Breath of the Wild's Limited Edition and the one that launched with Link's Awakening last year is the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity 'Treasure Box'. At the time of writing, it's only been confirmed for Japan, with pre-orders set to go live this Friday.

It'll be priced at 16,720 yen, as opposed to the standard physical edition's price of 7,920 yen, and will include a copy of the game, an acrylic art display, a paraglider blanket, and a metal charm. Those pre-orders can be found at Koei Tecmo's GameCity website, although no imagery has been provided just yet.
We're sure plenty of you would love to see something similar launch over here in the west, so we'll keep an eye out and update you if Nintendo reveals any similar products.

I don’t see the box?!
Oh right... that sounds cool!
I've preordered the standard game but I'd go for this version in a heartbeat if I can 😁
Those extras sound cool but not more-than-double-the-price cool. For that you'd normally get a soundtrack, a metal case and a statuette that always looks better in the promotional shots than in person.
I am so over these collectors edition games. It's always a bunch of junk to drive up the price that I never get any real use out of and winds up being thrown in a box somewhere.
Yeah, no thanks. A load of unusable tat for a premium price.
@JayJ I came to comment with the exact same sentiments. Gaming is already an expensive enough hobby, much more so if you are addicted to collecting this junk on top of the actual game.
The paraglider blanket is a nice thought, but it’s probably only two feet in length. 😂
@Ratking it’s basically Hyrule Warriors 2, set in the BoTW universe. Coming this November
The previous Hyrule Warriors had a Japan exclusive edition as well, but here in Europe we got another limited edition, way less awesome though.
A bit more, yes, but not that much more.
“an acrylic art display, a paraglider blanket, and a metal charm“
None of those items seems entincing at all to me. I hope the west recieves the good old artbook, and a physical soundtrack (the one in the hyrule warriors OST is one of my favorite renditions of the zelda theme, and don’t get me started on the wonderful “Silent Guardians” theme)
No English support for the Japanese release unfortunately.
@Ratking
You should come out of the sewer more often. 😉
@Magician : That's standard with Koei's releases, unfortunately.
I just want to see the gameplay, not interested in the box.
I jumped on the Master Edition for BotW. Only Zelda can make me spend more money in that way.
Wait a sec. if this takes place BEFOREbotw, then, the champions should die, link should go to sleep, zelda should be trapped in hyrule castle and hyrule will become a wasteland
Koei Tecmo's had 'Treasure Box' editions for the original Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, which came with, among other things, a scarf (Zelda) and CDs and postcards (Fire Emblem) so it's possible a western LE will be a similarly cut down subset of the Treasure Box stuff. Maybe they'll keep the blanket, since the WiiU LE had a scarf.
@Guybrush20X6 The Master Sword statuette that came with the BotW Master Edition is actually super classy in person, just sayin'
But anyway, a "paraglider blanket" sounds super bulky, impractical to store or display, and not likely comfortable or durable enough to regularly use. Not a very compelling choice for collector's edition merch, IMHO.
@DJ_Cheemstar that’s how it will likely end, correct.
@ShadJV but im still giving nintendo my money
@Fath I don't doubt it.
They tend to be a lot better when they don't have faces to mess up in production.
@Guybrush20X6 Fair point!
@bluesun Also Koei Tecmo did the Fairy Tail Collectors Guild Box as well. I bought it. Pretty cool extras.
Meanwhile I am still waiting for the english release of dragon quest heroes 1&2. Where is that Koei Techmo!
On Amazon 29,800 Yen = £219 for a blanket, keyring and what looks like a plaque to put on your wall, dont think so.
@Bunkerneath
Koei Tecmo's site lists a 16,720 Yen price for that Treasure Box edition. The Amazon JP listing seems way overpriced?
That's still around £122 which is a bit much. Presumably the thing comes in a literal treasure box that would be nice for display.
I’m usually not one for collectors editions or ultimate editions that try to entice you with physical goods but I will say that I want that blanket & keychain.
OSTs on a physical disc are usually what drive me to buy special editions. This would be a pass.
I'm holding out for this. Please bring it to the UK 🥺🥺🥺
Not for me, I don't think, but the acrylic art looks like it's be worth quite a bit. As for the Paraglider Blanket... Maybe don't try it out and see if you actually paraglide would be my advice. Could end badly.
Not that impressive. I'll see what they have planned for Europe and depending on what they got, I'll go for standard.
Well for that price I'd like an art book, soundtrack, exclusive amiibo...
But @150 smacker and nothing more like BOTW CE edition prices is justa RAW deal....
Here's what Amazon Japan says:
This product cannot be delivered to the specified location. Please select a different shipping destination.
That price is way to high for what’s being offered
@Reynoblade hahaha that made me laugh! Cheers
@Jacob1092 Your picture looks like you need hand sanitizer realllly bad! LOL
