It was a good Direct. It wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't bad either. More Pokemon news was nice, but was underwhelming. I downloaded that Etrian Odyssey V demo and played lots of it yesterday (haven't got far in it yet since I spent way too long customising the characters).

As for Switch, it was fantastic to see some big 3rd party games heading to it. I'd still prefer to play Wolfenstein 2 and Doom on PS4 since they're bound to have better graphics there, but the Switch option is good for those that like portability.

The Super Mario Odyssey trailer has got me more excited for that game than ever before. It's now a must have for me once I get a Switch.

This game is going to keep me occupied for a long time.

Etrian Odyssey V demo. I'll likely buy the full game once it's released.

@rjejr Oh yes, that lol. A Pikmin 4 trailer would have been sweet. I wonder when we'll hear more about it.

I liked the Direct. Sure there weren't that many new games, but it was great to get lots of juicy details on the upcoming games.

I liked the new info, but Ultra S&M still feels underwhelming. A brand new Pokemon per game is good and all, but I'd much prefer a variety of new Alolan forms.

This game is looking much better than ever. I've been underestimating it until now. The bundle could be tempting to me depending on price (though I'll likely still wait until at least next year before getting a Switch).

It's looking great. I have the first Xenoblade somewhere, so I'd like to play that before considering getting this.

A few new games for the Switch would be fantastic. And by that, I mean actual new games. Ports of games that I've already played aren't going to excite me.

And more Pokemon Ultra S&M info please. And it's a long shot, but Monster Hunter XX localisation would be brilliant.

@JaxonH Pokemon and MH fan here. I tried the demo of MH Stories, and I can't say that I loved it. Some of the characters were annoying, and the combat system never clicked with me.

Each to their own I guess. I'll just stick to Generations and World (and maybe XX if that ever gets localised).

The Switch has the advantage of being a newly released console, but it's still great to see it doing well.

It's looking fine judging by the clips I've seen of it. I'll keep it on my radar.

Yay. The 11pm time slot is good for me, since I'll be at home and not stuck at work then. Hopefully there'll be more Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon news, along with some Switch news that'll get me more excited for it.

The Switch is doing a lot better than expected, so supply issues are hardly surprising. However, Nintendo really needs to get on top of this problem and resolve these issues.

Achievements would be great, though I doubt Nintendo will do this. I'm guessing that developer was second guessing Nintendo, which is never wise given how unpredictable Nintendo are.

I don't know why some people get so mad at the possibility of achievements. As long as they can be hidden, it makes no sense for people to object to having the option available.

@Anti-Matter Unless you're trained at diagnosing these sorts of things, it's rather insensitive, inappropriate and insulting to suggest that someone is autistic.

I wouldn't say Monster Hunter Stories is a good primer to the series. After playing the demo, it felt like something very different to any traditional Monster Hunter game. I'd treat Stories as something that very different to the other games.

The Switch was clearly a smart move by Nintendo, as the sales show. It's good to see that it's doing well.

However, it's still not that appealing to me personally. I rarely play games outside of the house, so portability doesn't do anything to me. Plus, quite a lot of the biggest hits on the system are similar to games that I've already played lots of on my Wii U. Then there's the cost of it, as it's more expensive than other consoles, the 32GB internal memory will quickly run out and Micro SD cards are expensive, it'll cost more to play using a more traditional pro controller, and third party games are generally more expensive and less pretty than on other systems.

So the console itself isn't something I'm keen on, but it's the games that matter. Once the Switch has Super Mario Odyssey and a Pokemon RPG, then I'll likely be a lot more positive.

@SanderEvers I'd rarely ever use it outside of the home, so no I wouldn't want to pay a Switch tax for portability.

Nintendo are the ones who went with game cards for a home console, so I'm blaming them for this situation. I'll usually prefer the cheaper and better graphics option instead of the more expensive portable option.

I'll happily take the better visuals over portability and extra $10 cost.

This Switch tax is a problem, but I can't see any real way for Nintendo to fix it now.

Convenient timing for me. I've recently finished my Sun playthrough, so I may as well deposit legendaries and useful pokemon in Bank, then restart the game to grab all the hats.

Nothing for me this week. I tried the Monster Hunter Stories demo, but didn't enjoy the gameplay or the characters that much.

I'm not keen on this approach. They may think they know what I want better than myself, but I suspect they'll be wrong.

@R4z0rGr1nd3r You could at least @ me if you're going to say my arguments are dumb. Anyway, the Wii does show that Nintendo can do fine without the AAA games, but that doesn't mean that the Switch is better off without having them.

@Anti-Matter Okay. I wasn't suggesting that everyone should like AAA 3rd parties or that they're all good games. However, a lot of people do like them, so it can only be a bad thing that the Switch only has minimal 3rd party AAA support.

Fair enough. I was skeptical at first, and I'm still skeptical to some extent.

I already played a lot of the Wii U game, so a Switch port wouldn't excite me. Releasing this on the Switch would be a smart move.

Pokemon has so much potential, but I'm not expecting the Switch games to be a vast improvement. Pokemon games seem to evolve very slowly and gradually.

The Switch has a decent amount of great games so far, but I'm in no rush to grab one just yet. I still own a Wii U, so the ports of Wii U games aren't going to encourage me to get a Switch. Most of the brand new Switch games like 1-2 Switch and ARMS don't particularly appeal to me either.

I imagine that I'll want a Switch eventually, but for now I'll wait until it has more games that really excite me.

@Folkloner It's not the same. As far as I'm aware, there's no games that wouldn't fit on the base 500GB PS4 model.

Nintendo are great at some things, but terrible at other things. This is just yet another problem with the Switch that people are going to have to pay to work around.

32GB internal memory was always a joke in this day and age.

Seems pointless to pay extra for these ones. Once the card is in the console, you're not going to see the card.

@JaxonH I've not bought a Switch yet, and I edited my earlier post since it was confusing people. If XX releases in English, then I'll probably bite and grab a Switch.

@BensonUii Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant that I'd be very tempted to buy a Switch console if XX got a Western release.

As for when I'll get one, Pokemon Switch has a release date of 2018 or beyond, though I might not wait that long.

Bring XX to the west, and I'll become very tempted to increase the number of Switch consoles sold by one.

Yes. Misty and Brock made the original show for me. I've never cared for Ash.

Screenshots were very handy with it.

Wow, the Switch is doing very well despite my doubts about it. Great to see that it's currently successful.

This game is looking way better than I initially expected. It's still not for me though, since strategic games like this have never appealed to me.

Until they announce otherwise, I'm guessing that this is nothing of significance. As it says in the article, code like this is often left over from experimentation.

The last time I played Dynasty Warriors was back in the PS2 days, so maybe I should give this series another go.

I'm not preordering just yet. So far, they've been very light on details about how these games will be different to regular Sun and Moon.

Sigh. As much as I like Kanto, I wish they'd give the other regions some love too. In X and Y, the player is given Kanto starters with Mega evolutions, and Santalune Forest was a callback to Viridian Forest. Then in Sun and Moon they only gave Alolan forms to Kanto Pokemon.

Just as long as Ultra Sun and Moon have Alolan forms for a variety of past generations, then I'll be happy.
