@RygelXVIII What? It's in the article. They (Nintendo) are DMCA'ing properly licensed sheet music. I suppose you can question the quality of the source but barring conflicting information that is what Nintendo are doing. Obviously this is a developing situation. If it turns out that's not what they are doing then good for them but at the moment according to the information we all have that appears to be what is happening. This is how news works.

@RygelXVIII My dude, we DO know what Nintendo is doing. And that is they are being absolutely asinine about this. Pulling music that was already properly licensed. C'mon. Not to mention how much damage can they possibly suffer from fans arranging their music. I get that they have to protect their IP but they also have to consider how their actions affect their public perception and this is..... not a good look.

@PinderSchloss They can give it a 9/10 and they did. Not everyone cares as much about performance. I think mentioning it is obviously important and people should go watch some gameplay footage so they can judge for themselves but PLENTY of people will find the performance good enough in order to be able to play handheld.

@rushiosan I agree with you completely. It's despicable how Nintendo (or any other large corporation) goes after individuals like this. I do have empathy for this poor schmuck. Clearly didn't make great choices but his punishment is a travesty of justice. It's entirely disproportionate to the "crime".

@larryisaman I agree with everything you said! I do feel bad for devs who worked so hard on a game but I think usually piracy is neutral to the sales of a game. I have definitely pirated games I had pre ordered so that I could play early and I’m certainly not the only one.

@RobynAlecksys who hurt you? Leakers literally hurt no one. I would never purchase most the things I pirate but it lets me experience titles I wouldn’t otherwise which in turn ironically leads me to purchase more stuff than I otherwise would have. I feel not one ounce of shame or regret “stealing” from a mega corp like Nintendo. If I’m going to buy a game I do. Having a pirated copy serves as a demo and leads Nintendo to getting a bigger share of my wallet if I think it’s worth it. So continue being sanctimonious and feeling superior but in the real world “piracy” is a victimless crime especially if it’s happening to a large publisher like big N. Trust me. They will be just fine.

@Cipher36 The state of gaming does not suck. We have an (over) abundance of choice. If you don't like a particular release there are literally millions of others to choose from. I understand your frustration with this game but to say the state of gaming sucks is nonsense. We live in a golden age of gaming where we have access to almost unlimited versions of this art form.

@shining_nexus Yeah the glow in the dark and all the various transparent models were limited but the original Black/White pockets were on sale for quite some time. Same with the Duo, MegaSG and SuperNT. I do sympathize with people who missed out on the special editions but it's not always like that with every product.

@shining_nexus this.... just isn't true. For the limited edition pockets it was but it was quite easy to grab a white/black one. And all the other products were available for purchase days or weeks after they were initially available. And some products had multiple runs in case you didn't get them the first time.

@shining_nexus reasonable time frame is obviously subjective but I have purchased most of their products at msrp without too much trouble.

Everyone talks about how hard it is to get analogue gear, but I managed to snag a black, white, glow in the dark, and purple version of the analog pocket without any trouble and I don’t typically have good luck with preorders.

Is the box art really “stunning. Seems like everything is “stunning” these days.

@Not_Soos I feel like you're talking about individual injustices for lack of a better term. Whereas tackling the pay gap or racism is dealing with institutionalized/systemic injustice. I think it's very hard for the majority group to see the injustice because they don't have to live with it every day. You sound like you mean well but you're way off base about this.

@OFFICIALMichi This obsession with spoilers is silly IMHO. This is the most anticipated Nintendo game of the year. Nintendo has specifically shown us this trailer. If you're a Nintendo/Zelda fan you surely knew about this. If you want to stay "unspoiled" stay away from places that are likely to have them. Also, Ganon being in the game is hardly a spoiler to a Zelda fan.

Honestly all Nintendo have to do is make the same form factor with more power and it will be a smash hit. Hopefully they don’t take a left turn and try do something too crazy. I just want a normal console to play Nintendo games.

I guess this is an unpopular opinion. But the writing for the first octopath was garbage. It was so overwrought and cliche. I played for a few hours and I couldn’t get over how bad the writing was. It seems a shame since the actual story had potential.

Looks like that extra $10 is going to a 32GB cart. At least if you’re buying physical. Not sure what the justification is for digital purchases.

Just ordered the switch physical version. Bummer that I have to wait almost a year for it but I have plenty to chew on until then anyway.

This is why we can’t have nice things. If people keep supporting sub-par games the makers have no incentive to polish them as they should.

@Mauzuri looks like you’re the one who has a problem. These new games are an embarrassment. It’s fine if people like them but they could and should have had much better performance. I’m all for gameplay over graphics but this is just lazy.

@Rosona the performance is frankly an embarrassment. There is no reason this game should have such poor performance especially since it doesn’t look that great. It’s a terrible showing for game freak.

@Pillowpants There are parts of the game I like, and parts that I don't (like farming stardust). Auto catchers let you skip the grind and focus on the enjoyable bits. Plus during events if I'm driving somewhere I can let the game keep playing (and thus increase the amount of shinies I collect)

@cowntsikin they will release a new console once they can source the components. I don’t think that will be until 2024.
