@jamesthemagi I think you’re missing the point. If people are willing to let their 13 year old kids play hard M games, nobody will give a crap about a Peach game being E10+ instead of E.
@jamesthemagi Seeing as how parents willingly buy GTA and the yearly Call of Duty for their kids, I doubt this will stop them from buying a Princess Peach game for their kids.
@Eggolor I’m sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense. If the old style is truly superior, then TTYD will sell well. No need to tell others they can’t try the new games because you don’t like the new style. And correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t you make a comment a few months back about how bad Origami King was, while also saying you never actually played the game?
I’m sure anyone who cares about playing these games online will just use custom servers. It’s been 12 years, what did people think was going to happen?
@NintendoKnower And even those hardcore fans are restricted to places like r/truezelda. Everywhere else the newer games are loved, and most people still enjoyed TOTK on the true zelda.
Honestly I’m fine with this. The open world style isn’t the problem, and the issues are easily fixable. Better story and longer more complicated dungeons are needed although J did like most dungeons in TOTK.
So is everyone just gonna forget we already played as Zelda in Spirit Tracks? I'm fine with her just having a bigger part in the story. Heck, most of the story in TOTK and BOTW is about her, so I don't see what the big deal is here.
Yeah, TOTK was great but they clearly were stretched thin with ideas. The depths were lacking, sky islands were generic, story was okay at best, and they re used cutscenes at the end of dungeons.
@LikelySatan Yeah, I get it, was doing the same thing. Never understood why those games and more get a pass, but TOTK is committing a war crime with reusing the world.
Honestly outside the Batmobile it doesn’t look terrible. Heavily downgraded from other versions, but still fine enough if the switch is all you have. Hopefully a patch is released to stabilize the frame rate for both Knight and Asylum.
@Znake So does that mean that the games shouldn’t be patched to run at a constant frame rate? Your right that this state of release is not okay, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be fixed.
Arkham Asylum looks good, although the frame drops during combat are concerning. Probably will be patched quickly though. Arkham Knight looks extremely rough. It’s passable when you’re outside of the Batmobile, but it is nearly unplayable once you get in it. Graphics aren’t good, but solid for the switch. Hopefully the frame rate can be improved in a later patch.
Honestly going to wait for a sale on this one. Knight running so poorly makes this not worth $60, but I would pay $40 just for Asylum and City. Hopefully the games are available separate from each other.

Re: Poll: So, What Are Your First Impressions Of LEGO's Zelda 'Great Deku Tree' Set?
I ain’t spending $300 on a Lego set, no matter how cool it is.
Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch) - Still The King Of Mario RPGs
I’m gonna guess they didn’t do much with the backtracking if troubles were untouched.
Re: Nintendo Shares Luigi's Mansion 2 HD 'Rude Awakening' Video
@WhyYouLie
To be fair, the first game got a remaster on the 3DS.
Re: So, Will You Be Getting Princess Peach: Showtime! For Switch?
No, saving that money for TTYD. Showtime looks decent but it isn’t a game for me.
Re: Former Netflix-Exclusive 'Valiant Hearts: Coming Home' Arrives On Switch Today
Former Netflix exclusive just sounds weird.
Re: Random: New Pokémon Ad Positions 3DS As 'Retro', And The Internet Disagrees
The 3ds is retro now though. If someone got their 3ds as a 10 year old, they would now be 23. People act like the system came out 2-3 years ago.
Re: Switch Emulator Yuzu To Pay $2.4 Million To Nintendo & Cease Development
@abes3
They also were encouraging emulating TOTK a month before it released.
Re: Switch Emulator Yuzu To Pay $2.4 Million To Nintendo & Cease Development
Game preservation isn’t a good argument when the Switch is still on sale and has games readily available.
Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?
A decrease in price is the only thing I would consider. But even then I wouldn't want physical to go away.
Re: Another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Beat 'Em Up Is Coming To Switch This April
Game seems decent but not worth buying unless at a discount.
Also, watch the 2012 show, it’s so good.
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?
@Fizza
To be fair, you don’t need to look at the leaks beforehand.
Re: New Wild Card Football DLC Throws Legendary QBs Into The Arcade Gridiron Action
Sam Darnold was absolutely robbed of his rightful spot in the legends DLC.
Re: Random: Skipping Zelda: TOTK's Great Sky Island Tutorial Is Possible, With The Right Glitches
It might be quicker to just do the sky island than learn that glitch.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Stealth Games

I haven’t, I’m planning on picking that one up on PC.

Hey, just wanted to point out that Aragami is a pretty good Stealth game not on the list.
Re: 'Switch 2' Launching This Year With 8-Inch LCD Screen, According To New Analyst Rumour
I think every Internet forum in existence predicted the switch 2 to launch this year. Point being this isn’t some unexpected news.
Re: Nintendo's Jump-Start To January Sale Kicks Off 2024 In Style With Up To 80% Off (US)
I wonder why Origami King doesn't go on sale anymore, used to be a staple for these things.

Same reason people were claiming Multiversus was a competitor to smash for like a week.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown?
Maybe used at GameStop in awhile, but no way am I buying it at full price since Ubisoft sucks.

Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Rated For Switch By ESRB

So they shouldn’t buy a game that they want because you want the old style to return. Especially when OP already has played TTYD?

Re: Feature: 16 Best Nintendo Switch Soundtracks Of 2023
Colgera might have the best theme in all of Zelda. That part with the Rito village theme is just perfect.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2023
@-wc-
Oh definitely that’s the case. I always expected it to be near the top, but thought something like Mario Wonder would get first place.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2023
Honestly surprising to see TOTK at the top given the recent discourse online about the game. It deserves the top spot though.
Re: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch
Dang, thought for sure this one would get an M rating.
Re: Random: Hyrule's Shrines Serve A Secret Peace-Keeping Purpose, Says TOTK Director
That’s really cool, maybe they could have explained that in the actual game.

He’s in an upcoming series based on a game (can’t remember which.) he was just promoting season 2 of the show and then announced an award.
I honestly think the dude was drunk.
Re: Random: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Mod Swaps Out Blue Toad For Rosalina
Wait, I thought it was against the rules to discuss modern console emulation?
Re: Geoff Keighley Agrees Music Was Played "Too Fast" For TGA Winners This Year
To fast for the award Winners, but Anthony Mackie was fine to ramble on for 5 minutes.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Comments On The Possibility Of A Playable Zelda In The Future

Yeah, TOTK was great but they clearly were stretched thin with ideas. The depths were lacking, sky islands were generic, story was okay at best, and they re used cutscenes at the end of dungeons.
Again great game, buts it’s time to move on.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis of Batman: Arkham Trilogy
Knight is excusable, it was always a pipe dream on switch. But Asylum not performing well is unacceptable and shows how lazy this port is..
Re: Super Nintendo World Donkey Kong Country Expansion Opening Spring 2024
Huh, was convinced that Nintendo forgot about DK. We’re only coming up on, what, 10 years since the last game in the series?
Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

Yeah, I get it, was doing the same thing. Never understood why those games and more get a pass, but TOTK is committing a war crime with reusing the world.
Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison
@LikelySatan
Definitely, if you disregard the brand new story, characters, mechanics, etc, Origins is basically just City 1.5.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 2nd)
No idea, but I have a few candidates.
Arkham Asylum since the release of the trilogy has got me interested in the series again.
Gotham Knights, for the same reason. Just in a Batman mood.
Might start a replay of TOTK to get a more objective view on the game.

Yeah, they are based on the 360 versions.
Re: Video: Batman Arkham Trilogy Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison

Origins would probably work great on switch. It’s the same engine as City and has the same map and everything.
