The biggest change is the dungeons for me. Yeah, you still need to find the five things, but everything else is better. Theming, bosses, music, and the puzzles are all major improvements over BOTW. And I did find that turning on pro hud, and not opening my map, helped with the whole “ go find the five things.” It felt like I was actually going through a dungeon instead of going from point A to point B.
The first season was way better than I expected. It’s not the greatest show ever created, but for what it is, the show was pretty good. Definitely need to watch this when it releases.
@lechugajr The great sky island was much better than the great plateau. I actually wanted to explore it, whereas the plateau I just wanted to get the paraglider and leave.
@Cesco With that logic Nintendo should never release a new console. Game stores are always gonna have switch stock left over when the new console is revealed. Just like they had extra PS4’s when the PS5 was revealed.
This was never worth doing in BOTW. I’d much rather take the extra few seconds to charge my stamina instead of awkwardly holding the controller to whistle run.
@Bigmanfan I think we can all admit that EA makes much better games than Nintendo. Take Madden for example. You have a wide open receiver, then a defender phases through him to intercept your pass. How can you not love it!/s
@Johnion I know that, I think I might have misunderstood @BTB20 comment. I meant that the math did add up to TOTK being $20 with the two games traded in. But that’s clearly not worth it or what he said in his comment.
@Hajilee I agree that the amount of Zelda content today is a bit much, but considering the game comes out on Friday, there will be a lot of articles on the game for the next week.
I wouldn’t say it’s the best of all time, but it is very good. It’s weird, but I feel like it is now kinda underrated compared to how overrated it was at launch. A lot of Zelda fans act like it’s a 6/10 game just because it doesn’t have traditional dungeons even though it blows the Zelda series out of the water in most everything else. ( except for story, but most Zelda games don’t have amazing stories either.)
@Discostew I feel like people think they are entitled to play any game they want, regardless of if they buy it or not. Yeah it may suck if a game isn’t for sale any more, but that still doesn’t give you the right to steal it.
Emulation is fine for retro consoles, but you lose me when you mention current gen emulation. The game preservation argument doesn’t work with a console readily available in stores.
@LastFootnote I’m not sure on where the rumors came from, just that I saw it in some Spawn Wave videos. But it does make sense that Nintendo would reveal their next console sometime this year with the switch being at the end of its life.
By big games I mean system sellers. Most people aren’t buying a switch for Pikmin or Kirby. But you put out a Zelda or Mario game and people are buying a switch to play those.
@Sir_Axeman We’ve had rumors for awhile that TOTK was the last major switch game. I could definitely see Nintendo revealing the switch successor at Gamescom this year, with a Fall 2024 release.
@Crono1973 It won’t bankrupt them, but that doesn’t make piracy right. You would feel pretty angry if someone stole something you owned, why is it ok to steal from major companies?

Re: Eiji Aonuma Has Completed Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom "About 20 Times"
I have one temple done and about 60 shrines. This game is going to take me until at least the middle of June, probably beginning of July, to complete.
Re: Zelda: Cadence Of Hyrule Dev 'Brace Yourself Games' Confirms Layoffs
It was inevitable, but these people don’t deserve this. Not that anyone ever does, but you know what I mean.
Re: Feature: 26 Tweaks That Make Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Better Than BOTW
@BongoBongo
Same here, now I’m wondering how much shrines I missed exploring over in Hebra without the sensor.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
For some reason we have some nobody named Link as the protagonist instead of the true legendary hero Tingle.
0/10
Re: Soapbox: A Love Letter To My Favourite New Character In Zelda: TOTK
@MythTgr
Eh, I think the postman is the new kass. Also how can you hate someone who plays the sweetest tunes to exist.
Re: Japanese Charts: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Dominates, Surprising No One
The way things are going, TOTK will easily be one of, if not my favorite, games of all time.
Re: Soapbox: A Love Letter To My Favourite New Character In Zelda: TOTK
@Ralizah
Dang, guess we know how Link really feels about Zelda now. Addison puts him to shame with his support of Hudson.
Re: Soapbox: A Love Letter To My Favourite New Character In Zelda: TOTK
@Ralizah
How does Link need a whole other outfit to survive in hebra, when this guy can go in short sleeves. It’s unfair.
Re: Soapbox: A Love Letter To My Favourite New Character In Zelda: TOTK
That’s a weird way to say Tulin is the best character in TOTK.
Re: Sonic Prime Will Return To Netflix This July
The first season was way better than I expected. It’s not the greatest show ever created, but for what it is, the show was pretty good. Definitely need to watch this when it releases.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Director Wanted Ganondorf To Be A "Very Awesome Demon King"
@Nanami_Ataraxia
You take that back about Sidon, YOU TAKE IT BACK!!!
Re: Expect More Open-World Zelda Games Going Forwards, Suggests Eiji Aonuma
I am okay with this, assuming they continue with making 2D games to keep the old style alive.
Re: Yes, Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Also Uses "An Advanced Version Of Miis"
Hmmm, I knew I saw Matt riding around Hyrule field.
Re: Feature: 7 Things From Zelda: TOTK's First Hours That Had Us Grinning Like Mad
That opening cutscene was one of the best things I’ve seen in gaming. What a way to open a masterpiece of a game.
Re: Eiji Aonuma "Interested" In Zelda Movie After Mario's $1 Billion Box Office Success
@aaronsullivan
I know he has a voice, I just don’t want to here it.
Re: Eiji Aonuma "Interested" In Zelda Movie After Mario's $1 Billion Box Office Success
They shouldn’t, simply because Link would get a voice. It just wouldn’t be natural.
Re: The New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom amiibo Is Now Available, Did You Get It?
I haven’t gotten it, but it’s one of the few amibos I’ve been tempted to get.
Re: Soapbox: If Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Isn’t Switch’s Swan Song, It Really Should Be
Wait, was this an article about TOTK or just a way to talk about a next gen system?
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: Walkthrough, All Shrines, Collectibles, Tips, And Tricks
@lechugajr
The great sky island was much better than the great plateau. I actually wanted to explore it, whereas the plateau I just wanted to get the paraglider and leave.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Is Now The "Highest Rated Game Of All Time" On OpenCritic
The way things are going, TOTK will easily be one of my top three games in the series and all time.
Re: Poll: What's Your Game Plan For Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I’m gonna try to do most everything in the game.
Re: Hogwarts Legacy On Switch Has Been Delayed To November 2023
@PBandSmelly
Which would in turn screw over all the people who actually worked on the game, while not affecting Rowling at all.
Re: Time Between Switch's Announcement And Launch Was A "Special Case", Says Nintendo
@Cesco
With that logic Nintendo should never release a new console. Game stores are always gonna have switch stock left over when the new console is revealed. Just like they had extra PS4’s when the PS5 was revealed.
Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's 'Whistle Sprint' Glitch Has Been Fixed In TOTK
This was never worth doing in BOTW. I’d much rather take the extra few seconds to charge my stamina instead of awkwardly holding the controller to whistle run.
Re: Switch Online's 'Missions & Rewards' Adds Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Icons
Kinda want to get a membership just for these.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Version 1.1.0 Out Now, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Anti-Matter
It got nearly perfect reviews, I think the game is just fine.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@Slowdive
It’s just how things work with sequels and remakes. Ocarina of Time 3D scored lower than the original even though it is better in every way.
Re: Save Big On Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom With This GameStop Trade-In Offer (US)
@Johnion
I know, I literally made a comment saying that I misunderstood your original comment.
Re: Save Big On Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom With This GameStop Trade-In Offer (US)
@Johnion
I know that, I think I might have misunderstood @BTB20 comment. I meant that the math did add up to TOTK being $20 with the two games traded in. But that’s clearly not worth it or what he said in his comment.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Story Recap - What Happened Before Tears Of The Kingdom?
@Spider-Kev
Most games aren’t anywhere as big as TOTK is.
Re: Save Big On Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom With This GameStop Trade-In Offer (US)
@Johnion
Makes sense, subtracting the two games from TOTK price would have $20 remaining.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Story Recap - What Happened Before Tears Of The Kingdom?
@Hajilee
I agree that the amount of Zelda content today is a bit much, but considering the game comes out on Friday, there will be a lot of articles on the game for the next week.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Digital is more convenient . Plus I can play Thursday night.
Re: As Switch Momentum Slows, Nintendo Expects Further Sales Decline Next Year
The console is going to be what, 7 years old. The fact they are forecasting 15 million units is pretty amazing.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's "Key Theme" Is Hands, Says Developers
Can’t wait to throw hands with Ganondorf.
Re: Switch Android Emulator Skyline Halts Development Due To "Potential Legal Risks"

Do what you want, still doesn’t make current gen emulation right.

Re: Review: Molly Medusa: Queen Of Spit - A Frustrating, Wind Waker-Inspired Throwback
@canaryfarmer
Don’t ask, you don’t want to know.
Re: Switch Android Emulator Skyline Halts Development "Due To Potential Legal Risks"
Emulation is fine for retro consoles, but you lose me when you mention current gen emulation. The game preservation argument doesn’t work with a console readily available in stores.
Re: Where To Pre-Order The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom On Switch
Already have it pre ordered and am ready to spend an hour before launch, trying to access the game early.
Re: Review: Molly Medusa: Queen Of Spit - A Frustrating, Wind Waker-Inspired Throwback
Do you guys need to compare every game released to a Nintendo IP?

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Midnight Launch Goodies Revealed (US)
@Poodlestargenerica
Well yeah, everybody knows a Mug is worth $40, while a game with 100+ hours of content isn’t worth $70.
It’s just common sense after all.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 6th)
Im gonna try to beat as much of Monster Hunter world as possible, then it is going on the back burner when TOTK releases.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Nintendo Treehouse Livestream Announced
Eh, really no point in watching since I have the game pre ordered. Why watch it and spoil myself when I can play the game 2 hours later.
