Re: Yep, It Looks Like You Can Still Dodge Blue Shells In Mario Kart World

beartown

@wanderwonder it happens to me very, very rarely that I even have a mushroom. Don't wanna brag, but after all these hours playing I'm usually first even on 200cc and I don't play online (that would change everything, I know). Do you know more or less how much time frame is there to avoid the shell with the mushroom? I only tried to do that maybe 5 times.

Re: The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller - All New Features Revealed

@Sylamp the D-Pad in the Pro Controller made me realize that reviewers are super lazy these days. I see that trend in reviews of everything - movies, devices, games, music. They just repeat after one another and I'm doubtful whether they even use the things they're reviewing for enough time to have an honest opinion. I haven't seen a single review of the Pro Controller which would mention the awful D-Pad. Yes, awful. It's unusable in some games. I found it out during my first hour of playing with it. So not sure how the "reviewers" tested it to not be able to notice such an obvious flaw. And that's too bad, because I'd never buy the Pro Controller if I knew about how bad the D-Pad was. We live in the times of content farming, media are all about quantity, they don't care about quality anymore.

Re: Review: Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos (Switch) - A Solid, If Unspectacular Retro Adventure

@Smithicus the hype comes from the nostalgia for sure, but in my opinion Croc holds up very well. I've played it through multiple times since my childhood and it's always been fun. The first Croc is more simplistic than Mario or Spyro for sure, but it's still enjoyable. I consider it more like an arcade platformer, closer to Super Mario 3D World style than Super Mario 64 if you know what I'm saying. More sandbox-y. I don't get it why some people claim that Croc 2 doesn't hold well though - it's much more versatile than the first. Not as "rich" as Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie, sure, but still delicious, charming and fun.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library Next Week With Wario Land 4

@JackieCMarlow I still like Wario Land 4, but I do agree with you. The fourth one is different, it's much less original when it comes to the concept. Wario Land 4 is pretty standard platformer, very well done game in my opinion, but it lacks the spark of Wario Land 2 & 3, which were much deeper game ideas. I completed Wario Land 4 two or three times and I still enjoy watching the walkthroughs of it, because it relaxes me, but I kind of find this game a bit boring if that makes sense. I love the smoothness of it, but I also dislike that smoothness when playing it, as it feels too smooth. I think the biggest downgrade was the heart system, compared to being immortal in 2 & 3. I probably don't make sense anymore, but these are my feelings towards Wario Land 4.

Re: Fans Reckon The 'Switch 2' Joy-Con May Be Usable As A Mouse

While I love many thing Nintendo does, we all should criticize things like joy-con drift etc. more often. It's for our own good. What Nintendo did when they released Switch OLED after 4 YEARS with the same, faulty joy-cons should be unacceptable! Customers are too forgiving. Same goes with many other companies, they tend to be jerks for customers sometimes, because we allow them to. Also, Switch Pro controller's D-Pad is unacceptable too and they know it!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2024 - Our Most Played Games

@RetroBox I thought it looks nice, it would suit well on GameBoy Advance. But it's one of these cases when I'm shocked about the universal "wow" for a game. All reviews praise that joker gimmick, but I found it really dull after about 10 jokers. Maybe hardcore poker fans find some appeal in that, I don't know. Not for me.
