Even though I preordered from the eshop before release and have yet to call Nintendo to conversate why I didn't get a redeem code for Piranha; i might as well wait until they patch out all the bugs first after reading this. Not a big deal to me.
I'm not concerned. Must be a nightmare for Nintendo though. Seems like they'll never get off the treadmill when it comes to hackers. No wonder why Nintendo makes subliminal comments here and there about moving on from hardware.
"Stability Not Included"... That's cool it's being released for Switch. But I'm not willing to buy a downgraded version of a fighting game that's 59.99 across the board. I enjoy mobility, but not for fighting games.
I have no desire to play anything on a cellphone. As for the "Nintendo is moving away from consoles" quote, they been saying things as such since GameCube. The thing that Nintendo seems to be the most stable in is the nostalgic perspective with their main franchises. But their devices are always changing. We'll see what happens, I guess..
Temp workers are always treated as high risk normally especially in this regard. UPS is a decent paying job, he could have just bought a controller instead paying for paying for that and the fine he's about to get in due time. Dummy...
@Tasuki Yeah. Some things are better left non stated. When articles are published in what's supposed to be an honest fanfare site it's best to be more mindful of what you're putting out there, for good influence sakes. Otherwise, the publisher looks and sounds quite hypocritical.
Robotic Reggie lol... Nah seriously though, Nintendo's reps know how to choose their words carefully as they represent their brand. Obviously... This would be a terrible time talk about a new revision.
@andywitmyer I haven't found much fun in using Jiggly, in fact the only time I did use her was in Melee. She has good mobility especially in the air. Her size makes it easy to mix up attacks and grabs, so that's good to keep people guessing. Her zoning is mediocre especially without the use of items. I don't think Jiggly is terrible, just not a fun character for me.
My thoughts about Little Mac, he's also fun to use. He has great mobility, wake up game, a good counter and charge attack, great power on the ground altogether. His weaknesses hold him back from being well rounded, his platforming and air attacks are terrible. But that's expected because the onest is to utilize the characters based on how they play in their games they're known for.
(PLUS) A savage on the ground
(MINUS) The worst in air strikes
I agree with the first player's tier list, but Samus (in my view) should be on the same tier as Dark Samus. Been to other social boards concerning Smash that seems to hate Samus in this version. I personally think this the best version, her zoning techniques is one of the best in the game. And all her normal moves still offer a knock back to keep opponents away. Of course Dark Samus offers the same but slightly stronger. Anyways... yeah those two characters a very fun to use competitively.
It was definitely an entertaining reveal. I like Nintendo's approach with 3rd parties on surprise reveals. As for MK I haven't been a tournament player since MK Deadly Alliance and Deception, but I might get back into on Switch.
Other than the game being announced, I didn't spoil myself about the content. So I'm ready to enjoy Smash again. I haven't been a tournament player since Smash64 & Melee but it shouldn't be a problem for me to jump back in. Cool review NL!
No I don't think it would be a wise decision by Sony to directly compete against Nintendo patents, simply because they have a track record of failing in that perspective. I like the PlayStation console platforms, but as a business set of actions Sony is a known troll especially against Nintendo, they troll Microsoft as well. As I stated in another article, one of the main Sony reps in the PlayStation division was all up in that Switch reveal snapping numerous photos of the device, so it's always that possibility that Sony could directly compete against Nintendo, it just wouldn't be wise in my opinion.
I was nine years old and the second one to have this game in my neighborhood besides my cousin when it released. Most of the childhood friends wanted to come to our houses just to play that. This was my favorite 2d platformer.
The concept is definitely cool considering GameCube controllers are my favorite. However, playing fighting games especially Smash its always highly preferred to play hardwired to keep input lag to a minimum. Still might get one to check it out, hopefully it's good.
Valid points, but Nintendo knows what they're doing which why at the end of the day their target customers are casuals because they know for the most part casuals won't complain but will continue to buy into it. I never used roms and hacking but I certainly understand as to why people jailbreak their consoles to include games and features because of Nintendo's stubborn business practices. Most of us who know Nintendo since the 80's and are familiar with their history are the ones who go viral the most about their B.S. Haha we'll see what happens, but Nintendo will not stop being who they always been.
That's always been their narrative considering their history. They're just branching off and expanding their entertainment business practices and finding new ways to remain relevant as a household brand name. Cool news to me..
@Yasume
Yeah I agree. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo goes that route with a "Switch Pro" per say. Nintendo is getting better at catering to 3rd party requests. And some devs are willing to make or port games on a stronger Switch model. Nintendo will make the appeal likeable more than a bad taste somehow, if this turns out to be what is expected.
As expected. But anyway, I'll be waiting for it and willing to buy it at launch. Still keeping the one I own already. Would be cool if the Tegra X2 used to be a stronger upgrade on top of a better screen. We'll see what happens, hopefully...
PR swerve possibly. But what better device can Sony come up with than current mobile devices including Switch that isn't copied by them? I say swerve possibly because wasn't Yoshida or some high Sony rep at the Switch reveal taking a whole lot of photos of the device up close?
Yeah Nintendo's excuses are laughable. You don't short change legit gamers and potential buyers on features and such because of their fear of hackers/cheaters, you ban "them" that cheat. They need to sort the functionality out that way.
Lol!! Yeah I knew the comment section was going be hot on this article. Sony, the PlayStation division not the gamers (I also play PlayStation), as a gaming corporation they are straight up trolls and they know it. They trolled the mess out of Microsoft especially at 2013 E3, and still troll Nintendo. Nintendo is still the game industry's trend setters, so, when they try something new and it works then the competition follows one way or another.
Wow! Good work NL. Yeah I was concerned about the cloud save functionality for Rev1&2. But I found out myself that both utilize the cloud functionality. Thanks for the thorough breakdown.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About The Metroid Prime 4 Delay?
GOOD!!! It's better to produce a quality game that turns out good and fun to play, rather than rushing a game for the sake of selling its name.

Re: Tekken 7 For Switch Depends On Fan Demand According To Katsuhiro Harada
No thanks... In my view, from Tekken 3 to 7, 7 is the worst one. Tag 2 was very good on Wii U, I'd rather them port that again to Switch.
