@bitleman oh I definitely have paid full price for most of these games. I thought they were worth it at $60 msrp. I can’t say the same for many Nintendo games. I’ll pay full price for Zelda, Metroid and some Mario, but the rest are games I’ll pick up after they’re a select.
Played it on PS4, but if this port plays well, I see no reason why I wouldn’t buy this. CDPR makes quality games and does good for the consumer. The least I can do for them is buy their games and keep them in business
40 min seems pretty great! The Xbox conference was pretty lengthy but honestly didn’t feel like it had too long of announcements for me. Also, seeing so many “new announcements” was incredible. I hope Nintendo’s offers a similar feeling!
Nintendo should hire them to make the art for a Paper Mario game.
Whatever they do, I’ll love it! I just finished Cuphead on my Switch and I thought it was extremely tough but never impossible. I think Sekiro was harder for me than Cuphead was.
So glad others are wishing for time splitters like me. I know Halo had fun multiplayer during that generation, but Time Splitters was my multiplayer shooter of choice
Switch Online: SNES for Switch Online would be really awesome! Super Metroid, Zelda and Super Mario World first. I was very pleased with Hollow Knight and Fortnite following their E3 Direct last year, so I hope there’s at least one indie game that is super solid and “available now” or “later that day” Port Choice: A Pikmin or Metroid trilogy port New Game: Just more details about Zelda Link’s Awakening remake Surprise DLC: Mario Odyssey 3 or 4 new worlds to explore
This would be helpful for when I’ve used my Switch with my monitor. I had to sit close so I could plug my headphones into my switch in the dock which wasn’t very fun
The game I’d want most is RE4 but I’ve already beaten it back on GC and I’m not interested in paying $30 for a game that regularly dips to $10 on sale. I have a Re5&6 to beat on my PS4 still.
@Jester151 I know you were probably looking up info on this game before making the purchase yourself, but I’d like to think that you remembered my quote on here back in August just so you could remind me that it has gone on discount. haha
We’ll see if this changes my mind about this game. In all likelihood, I’ll rent this game after it’s been out for a few months just to try out a few levels that others create. I’m not worried about getting this one
Okami is a good game, but definitely suffers from some dated features. For the $20, it’s a wonderful price of entry for a top notch title.
I don’t really think Enter the Gungeon feels very Zelda-like (even top-down Zelda-like). It’s a twitchy shooter and a lot of fun, but I’d compare it to a shmup or run n gun over a Zelda adventure title.
If they ever lower the price on Dark Siders to $10, I’ll play it.
wouldn’t surprise me if Retro picked him up. Panic Button clearly knows how to port a shooter to the Switch and get it to run incredibly well. Sounds like Metroid Prime 4, no?
The Wii and Wii U offered legacy content like NES, SNES and N64 titles
not everyone had those systems when they were more accessible
people don’t wanna pay inflated prices for carts or discs of the games or the time to hunt down the game at garage sales, auctions, etc
we want to pay for legal licenses to the devs/publishers who made the game
the Switch is portable and provides the ability to play legacy content on the go
don’t wanna maintain the clutter that comes from owning a NES, SNES, N64, GCN, Wii and Wii U and games associated with them.
Competitors like Xbox are providing ways to play their legacy content like Xbox and 360 games on their platform, so it would make sense that Nintendo would have some competition
The point of the VC isn’t to slow down or replace new games — I’d be devastated if stuff like Cuphead or Wargroove weren’t being made today, but with the VC content already made, it seems like it’d be so easy to port these games to the Switch.
@WhoaManWtF I have played Yellow, Red and Blue and Silver before. Just looking for something new, and I’m not a fan of all the new things they’ve put in Pokémon since the DS days
theyll need to make a longer charger for Switch for me to want to play Zelda in VR. I don’t wanna play near a corner of a room just so I can play for more than 90 min at a time. That being said, I’ve heard the VR is pretty fuzzy and makes you not wanna play VR for more than a few minutes at a time
Wow some people are friggin’ butthurt about needing to have a memory card for their Switch. Don’t let any of them know that there’s an Xbox One that won’t have a disc drive...
It’s likely I’ll buy something from the big sale than from this new game list. Played Hellblade one PS4 and it was great. If I play it again, it’ll be the VR version if it ever gets ported from PC fo PSVR.
Makes me wish I hadn’t traded away my copy of Breath of the Wild. After 110+ hours in there, I thought I was totally done. Looks like I’ll have to borrow a friend’s copy or shell out some cash
I’m surprised Dark Souls Remastered isn’t on this list. I definitely don’t regret the 50+ hrs I spent in it last year. I definitely think this list is pretty great. The top 5 are definitely all correct.
Yoshi looks too pricey for not enough content. Will play when it becomes a Nintendo Select— I feel like this “wait until it’s $20” list is getting kinda long for me on Switch. I’m content to play Wargroove on Switch and Sekiro on my PS4 Pro this weekend.
Looks like a solidly built game. If this was something that looked or played sub-par, then maybe his worry would be warranted. As it is, this looks enjoyable and like something I’d like to get in addition to Cuphead
A Pro model would be welcome if it provided enough content. The New 3DS only has a handful of 3DS games that take advantage of the hardware. Modders have shown that SNES games can run perfectly fine on the 2DS and 3DS, so I would be very angry if Nintendo locked out some content arbitrarily behind a new console. “Only GameCube games can be played on the pro model”
@Rodan2000 PS exclusives in the pipeline: Next month is Days Gone, but listed for Spring release is also Concrete Genie. Dreams by Media Molecule is still anticipated sometime this year. Kojima is still developing Death Stranding for PlayStation, I can’t imagine Guerilla Games notmaking Horizon Zero Dawn 2 or Sony Santa Monica not working on God of War 2 (5). And there’s also Ghost of Tsushima in the works too. Hopefully those are some games to follow now. Plus whichever games that they announce in their PS State of Play announcements.
So much shade for such a great system. PlayStation is awesome! If they see that Nintendo is doing something right and want to copy it, then do it. The competition is what keeps them innovating
@IceEarthGuard I know it was free, but for such a fun game, this was lackluster dlc. Grinding more coins to get new costumes isn’t my idea of a good time. I really wish we could’ve seen new levels in a paid DLC
Mario Odyssey is by far and away the best on that list. It’s just really disappointing that it never had DLC. I keep hopping into it every few weeks and I’m finally getting close to 750
I would love for Nintendo to make a “game as service” Mario party game. Create events with different boards that appear only during certain times of year— like how overwatch has yeti hunt or snowball fight in their winter event.
I have to actually eat my words on this. The video definitely intrigues me to the point that I could see myself buying into it. My biggest worry was that you wouldn’t be able to make your own content in VR but apparently you can.
From Software + Legend of Zelda. The dark souls games and Brath of the Wild are lonely adventures.
Metroid Prime + No Man’s Sky. I’ve never played NMS, but I think it would be fun to explore a Metroid universe and collect bounties across different planets. You could still make it have some Metroid power-ups across each world.
Captain Toad + Jonathan Blow. JB games like the Witness and Braid are difficult puzzlers and maybe finding some way to combine Capt. Toad with it would be cool as well
@jswhitfield8 they get most of the money for Cuphead when it sells really well on Switch? Nintendo has no need to reciprocate and lend them a license, even though Breath of the Wild running on Xbox would run much better than it does on Switch.
Any games that they wanna bring to switch would be welcome.

Good on Sony— they can sell great games at low prices! Nintendo has to wait 5 or 6 yrs before they make them a Nintendo Select

Booo! Nintendo, stop giving us NES games and broken VR updates to Zelda! Just get us some SNES titles

It still comes with a friend code, right?
