I already find the cheapest way to get the games — buying physical at Walmart, buying gamestop or eshop gift cards at a discount, sharing the cost with my brother as we game share on PS and Switch. I even built a pc so I could start playing games cheaper on there as well. I’m not gonna pay $70 for games. Instead I’ll just look at year or two old games and pay $15-30 instead
I usually like about half of the Ubisoft conference each year, but I was genuinely impressed and I think I will try out all those games they shared during the Forward event.
@SwitchForce Idk who made the argument about the Lite plugging into the monitor, but it wasn’t me, so I don’t know why you’re using it with me at all. I also agree that I probably wouldn’t take the my portable monitor outside; once again, not an argument I made. If I knew that where I was going would have a tv for me, then I would probably just bring my dock like you’re saying, as would most people I believe. It seems like my point has eluded even yourself. You’re forgetting that not every location that one would stay in has a tv. I’ve stayed in AirBnBs and friends’ houses where there wasn’t a tv available to me. Let me give you another example of something currently happening for me:
As I’m typing, I have Divinity 2 paused on my portable monitor on the side table to my little hospital bed. There is no tv in my room to hook my switch up to. Why not play it in handheld mode then if I’m confined to a bed? Simple: I like playing with my pro controller, and if my switch is on a stable surface like the table, then I have to squint at it to read and play, so I brought my monitor along. It folds up like an ipad, so it fits in my backpack easily and it isn’t heavy or unwieldy. Now I’m back to playing my game comfortably. I get that portable monitors are expensive and not always a great investment for everyone’s circumstances, but clearly there is a set of circumstances that I’ve laid out that make having something like this actually a good product.
All the people arguing against having a portable monitor to play Switch have zero imagination — You can’t fathom a single instance in which someone might prefer to have a screen that quadruples the switch’s screen size? Subtitles? Multiplayer? Even just a more comfortable experience?
Rather than the cheapest C-Force monitor, go with a Lepow Z1 Gamut. It features HDR for the same price. It does require a mini HDMI, but one is included with the the box, as well as a USB-C to USB A charger than can run off the usb from the switch dock (or in my case, my Genki dock)
I want to try this game, and I’ve seen the original for >$5 for the Xbox 360. I think I will buy it there next time it’s on sale and then this version on switch if I truly like it — hopefully when it is on sale
I usually try out the demos for JRPGs and not much else, I usually have a good idea of what I want and get those games — the Touryst is a good example where I skipped the demo cuz I knew I’d love the game
Top Priority: The Last of Us 2 — it’s pretty gory and so my time to play it is extremely limited. Switch: Dark Souls (3rd playthrough) Xenoblade DE, & Divinity 2
Willing to try this out, but more than likely I won’t pay any money into it. I love the concept of Pokémon more than I actually like the Pokémon games. They could make sooo many better Pokémon game genres — ghost catching Luigi’s Mansion type game, another turn based strategy like Conquest, advance wars with Pokémon, Open world pokemon like Breath of the Wild. I would even be cool with a mainline Pokémon that didn’t just go for the same ol storyline too.
I would like any AAA studio to make a mainline Pokémon over Gamefreak. The Pokémon titles deserve more polish and direction than they’ve given them in years. Look at Zelda BotW or Mario Odyssey from 2017 and tell me you wouldn’t prefer a Pokémon game to look as good as them.
One of the first PS+ titles I ever got on my PS4. I played through the story mode and loved it. It reminded me of Metal Gear Acid and I wish we would get a port of that game on another console. This one will certainly be great to play again
I’ve been enjoying it on PC game pass. I don’t wanna restart my progress though. For anyone thinking about it, this is a great game at a steal of a price. Kinda like how I felt getting Hollow Knight for $15.
I’ve replayed the first several hours again when I switched consoles for a game but I can’t replay the 45+ hrs I’d need to do in order to catch up. I will probably only play this on my 3DS and nowhere else.
I respect that Nintendo and other publishers/developers can’t work in the same capacity with the current virus. It doesn’t stop me from wanting to see cool new games in the works that don’t have release dates n such. Currently hyping to see the third party stuff that Xbox will be advertising next week!
I’ve received all except Borderlands 1 on PS Plus, but I’ve only played the Pre-Sequel among all those games... I’m a failure at playing the right ones. I could see myself getting that one and perhaps Bioshock Infinite on my Switch
I like Capcom games, but I typically play them on other consoles that run them beautifully. RE7 wasn’t meant for the cloud, it was meant for the PSVR. Re3 is gonna be best on PS4 and Xb1. However! If they wanna make a viewtiful Joe remaster on switch... day one for me
Capcom has pleased me in the past couple years tbh. They’re porting a lot of Resident evil over to Switch and RE 2 Remake on other consoles was amazing. The only thing I’m hoping for now is a port (even Non-HD) of Viewtiful Joe
I’m not finished with the base game and I haven’t thought it’s been that great either. Why would I wanna give more money to a studio that can’t even make a modern game? Everything feels so dated and stale with the Pokémon franchise. I’m gonna give my money to other devs
Gamefreak is a bad Dev with a good IP. If any other AAA studio had Pokémon, we’d see new storylines, better animations and fresh ideas. People love Pokémon so much, they’re willing to buy these underwhelming games because no one else is making them. I don’t think we’d need to see a change from the turn based systems, but Gamefreak needs to take a year or two off to make the changes to revamp the series.
Since I’ve been able to play many indie games on Xbox Game Pass, I’ve started holding off on getting indies on switch. I have reserved purchases for AAA Nintendo titles mostly at this point. There will be a few Indies I’ll still get on Switch though: Axiom Verge 2 and Hollow Knight Silksong for sure
The comics are amazing. This coming from someone who dislikes the whole anthropomorphic animal-side of the internet. Guess I’ll get this when it’s like $5-10
Hope they announce that they’re gonna fix their previous statements about sword/shield and actually allow more Pokémon into it. Honestly, I can’t believe how dated the franchise feels even on Switch. They make more money than nearly anything else and their budget for the mainline games is abysmal
at These prices, I can keep waiting. I still have games like Resident Evil Remaster waiting on my Switch untouched as well as a half dozen or more others. I’ll get to them eventually

Anyone know if the physical copy requires any sort of download outside of a small Day 1 patch or something like that?

@Balladeer I’ve played both. It’s not copying any mechanics of Portal other than pointing and aiming. It’s its own thing—
A unique 5-6 hr experience with some puzzles as well as alternate endings. It’s worth the $20, I’ve already played it so I will pass this time.
