Re: Talking Point: Are You Prepared To Spend $70 On The Latest Games?

Whalehome

I already find the cheapest way to get the games — buying physical at Walmart, buying gamestop or eshop gift cards at a discount, sharing the cost with my brother as we game share on PS and Switch. I even built a pc so I could start playing games cheaper on there as well. I’m not gonna pay $70 for games. Instead I’ll just look at year or two old games and pay $15-30 instead

Re: Feature: Which 1080p Portable Monitor Is Right For Your Nintendo Switch?

@SwitchForce Idk who made the argument about the Lite plugging into the monitor, but it wasn’t me, so I don’t know why you’re using it with me at all. I also agree that I probably wouldn’t take the my portable monitor outside; once again, not an argument I made. If I knew that where I was going would have a tv for me, then I would probably just bring my dock like you’re saying, as would most people I believe. It seems like my point has eluded even yourself. You’re forgetting that not every location that one would stay in has a tv. I’ve stayed in AirBnBs and friends’ houses where there wasn’t a tv available to me. Let me give you another example of something currently happening for me:

As I’m typing, I have Divinity 2 paused on my portable monitor on the side table to my little hospital bed. There is no tv in my room to hook my switch up to. Why not play it in handheld mode then if I’m confined to a bed? Simple: I like playing with my pro controller, and if my switch is on a stable surface like the table, then I have to squint at it to read and play, so I brought my monitor along. It folds up like an ipad, so it fits in my backpack easily and it isn’t heavy or unwieldy. Now I’m back to playing my game comfortably. I get that portable monitors are expensive and not always a great investment for everyone’s circumstances, but clearly there is a set of circumstances that I’ve laid out that make having something like this actually a good product.

Re: Pokémon Unite, An Online Team Battle Game, Revealed For Switch And Mobile

Willing to try this out, but more than likely I won’t pay any money into it. I love the concept of Pokémon more than I actually like the Pokémon games. They could make sooo many better Pokémon game genres — ghost catching Luigi’s Mansion type game, another turn based strategy like Conquest, advance wars with Pokémon, Open world pokemon like Breath of the Wild. I would even be cool with a mainline Pokémon that didn’t just go for the same ol storyline too.

Gamefreak is a bad Dev with a good IP. If any other AAA studio had Pokémon, we’d see new storylines, better animations and fresh ideas. People love Pokémon so much, they’re willing to buy these underwhelming games because no one else is making them. I don’t think we’d need to see a change from the turn based systems, but Gamefreak needs to take a year or two off to make the changes to revamp the series.

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Make The 'Switch Sacrifice'?

Since I’ve been able to play many indie games on Xbox Game Pass, I’ve started holding off on getting indies on switch. I have reserved purchases for AAA Nintendo titles mostly at this point. There will be a few Indies I’ll still get on Switch though: Axiom Verge 2 and Hollow Knight Silksong for sure

Hope they announce that they’re gonna fix their previous statements about sword/shield and actually allow more Pokémon into it. Honestly, I can’t believe how dated the franchise feels even on Switch. They make more money than nearly anything else and their budget for the mainline games is abysmal
