Re: Opinion: It's Time To Get Rid Of Fall Damage

Absolutely.

Fall damage adds nothing to a game to me,
it mostly seems to me a peculiar attempt to add 'realism' to games that otherwise pay no heed to it.
In most games it is not difficult to avoid the damage; it's just tedious.

Same with not being able to breathe underwater.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

24 racers on a track...
For me less is more.

Open world games can be great, I really don't think Mario Kart needed it.

I feel with a lot of franchises that Nintendo are, excuse the pun, running out of road.

As for price, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is a lot cheaper; is Sega that much richer than Nintendo?
Presumably it's about Nintendo feeling they can get away with asking for $80 a game.
And maybe they're right, but the backlash to the price and the lukewarm reception to this direct suggest that may not be the case.

"But Nintendo have always been greedy, they've done research and this must be the right price!"
Like how they had to drop the 3DS price?
Like how they had to be persuaded to include Wii Sports with the console that became a runaway success?

Yes, Nintendo has always been about maximising profits like most companies, but let's not pretend that they always get that equation right.
