Mario World is great to play for the first time,
but Bros. 3 is much more rewarding to play again.

If you know the secrets in Mario World,
it becomes absurdly easy.

This is the one that should have been remade for Switch.

All the more reason to just get Monolith Soft to work on it so that it doesn't look and feel *****.

Me too, I love the wedge design.

Considering that consumer spending is collapsing in the US, the biggest market for Nintendo, I think it's unlikely.

Some good games,
but Switch will always for me be the generation when Nintendo started to charge for online access, without actually providing functioning online play, so essentially stealing.

I'm not buying another Nintendo system until they bring back Virtual Console.
So never.

A lot of phone crashes as well.

There are dozens of games I've still got to play on switch 1,
and life is going to get a lot tougher in the next couple of years,
I don't need the added expense of Switch 2 games.

I think it would be stupid and shortsighted if they don't replace the scheme.

There have been times when I've persuaded myself to buy a game that I otherwise wouldn't have, because the gold points knocked off a quid or two.

If you get the Switch 2, you're buying the next Mario and Zelda whatever happens, but it's 3rd party developers and indies (and even lesser Nintendo franchises) that would lose out, and knowing Nintendo's tendency to implode after a success, I think they'd do well to keep developers on side.

With Mainland China looking set to invade Taiwan in the next couple of years,
this seems an odd thing to do now.

Seems a bit of a PR own goal for very little gain.

More than most retro games,
Tomb Raider to me seems to be a very particular snapshot in time,
and should probably stay there.

Mario Land 3 is still my favourite,
but I'm a little surprised that it ranks so high with everyone else.

Just give people a choice, you can get access to games for X amount a year, or you can buy individual games outright.

To be honest, I always knew that at the age of 38 that I'd be spending Valentine's Day with Wario Land 4.

Sports games don't need gimmicky nonsense,
which is why the older ones are better.
Just keep the gameplay the same,
add new characters and locations from the new Mario adventure titles. Done.

Mario Tennis 64, brilliant gameplay, no ***** interrupting the flow.
Same with Golf on N64 and GameCube.

A list of 98 games isn't much better than the eshop itself.

I feel like Nintendo is entering a new paradigm, and will release software on Switch as well as Switch 2 if the hardware can handle it, bit like how Sega used to do.
I'm not convinced that Switch 2 will reach the install base of the Switch, not least because of the economoc situation, so we could see Switch 2 and Switch exist alongside each other akin to PS4 and PS5.
I don't envision it being a GBA 'third pillar' scenario.
