Some really cool new Pokemon this generation, with some great variants on existing creatures as well, often willfully misinterpreting British culture, which I quite enjoyed.
F**k them then.
Even if I didn't want Virtual Console (and I do) I'd resent this kind of "Take it and shut up" attitude from Nintendo's refusal to give consumers choice.
Feel like Nintendo need another Wii U style humbling.
At the risk of delving into the political sphere, I've noticed this kind of stance more and more in Japan.
Japanese culture has usually been inflexible, but now it feels to me to be bordering on gratuitous obstinance.
With tourists it's like "Spend money, but f**k off".
But I digress; Switch One is defintely my last Nintendo console.
Don't worry yourselves though, I'll still be here to moan about them.
You sure?
At the end of the piece he says:
"Disagree with this ranking? Feel free to search for your favourite Mario Tennis game below, give them the score they deserve, and potentially influence the order above."
And the ranking order does seem to correspond exactly with the user scores given to each game.
"Nintendo are being really odd last couple of years (Clocks, Flower toys, stretchy face Apps, launching a new system with fan favourites rather than the big AAA hitters)."
Almost as though Nintendo don't always take a direct route to profits.
All they ever needed to do is keep 64's gameplay, add new characters and locations as the mainline Mario adventures progressed; leave the wacky innovation to the big Mario titles.
Nintendo had three decent options regarding the Virtual Boy catalogue as I see it:
1) As Wario Land was the only good game on the system,
remake it for 3DS.
2) Release all the games on the 3DS Virtual Console.
3) Release on Switch NSO and give people the option to play it in 2D; like how they magically managed to present the games in the trailers.
That they have managed to swerve all these decent options is a really quite heroic display of idiocy.
Yeah, I'm already paying money for NSO.
I don't mind a remake, but they need to actually do something to it.
And I'd like more standalone Virtual Console like releases, but those cost around $10.
With the nonsense of paying extra to actually play the Virtual Boy app as well,
NSO is starting to look like an abusive relationship with Nintendo.
I love this generation.
I thought the Parisian setting was great,
and the addition of the Fairy type was much needed and added a lot.
The title legendaries are fantastic.
Greninja is iconic and subsequently features in Smash Bros.
Dedenne one of the better electric rodent designs.
Sylveon is now a fan favourite.
Aurorus is beautiful.
But my all time favourite Pokemon of any generation is Goodra, both versions.

That's a great point.

When I'm definitely finished with an argument,
I keep on replying to make sure everyone knows that I'm definitely finished with it.

@LUIGITORNADO
Surely the solution to the 'scam' is to allow VC purchases to carry over to the next console via a Nintendo account.
@The_Nintendo_Expat
Thank goodness (genuinely) that you're here to expose this nonsense, cheers.

Link's Awakening on the original Game Boy.

Right?
They could have at least tarted the games up a bit and added online.

Re: "We Thought It Would Be Fun" - Nintendo Explains Why Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen Aren't On Switch Online
The attitude towards consumers is bordering on contempt.
@Samalik
Exactly. The refusal of Nintendo to give people choice is one reason I've decided not to get a Switch 2.

@OmnitronVariant
That is truly appalling.
Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 5 Pokémon?
Great starter Pokemon this generation, mostly tedious otherwise, and just awful legendaries.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Next DLC In-Game Event Starts Today
That one on the left is utterly horrific.
Re: 'Can You Use Labo VR Goggles For Virtual Boy Games On Switch?' & Other Nintendo Classics VB Questions Answered
Absolutely baffling that they didn't release these games for the Virtual Console on 3DS.
More baffling is that they don't give you the option to play it in 2D. Like on 3DS, just give people the option.
Even weirder, is that you can only play the app with the Expansion service, but seemingly can order the headset with merely the normal NSO membership.
Go home Nintendo, you're drunk.

I'm not into that,

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 4 Pokémon?
Damn, this is tempting me to get the remake now.
Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 4 Pokémon?
Such a strong generation.
All the starters are really good.
And Togekiss is great.
The iconic Lucario of course.
Almost wholly undermined by the awful design of Spiritomb.

Add Monkey Ball merchandise to the Sega Store you cowards!
How hard can it be to market cute monkeys?
One idea is bouncy balls with the characters inside;
you know, like how they look in the game.
