Exactly.
Like saying bread was popular in 18th century Europe.

Almost feel like this should have been a Diddy Kong Racing revival.

Or probably more apposite,
the start of a Donkey Kong Racing series,
released a year or so after Bananza (time to iron out the issues this article refers to as well).
Theme seems generally better suited to the adventure elements.
You could have the classic Kongs, but also newer additions from Bananza.
And later release actual Mario Kart for people that like real Mario Kart.

Lap changes sound okay, but we already had that with some tracks.
Expanding the amount of racers in a race which leads to ever wider tracks isn't great.
A too empty open world isn't great either.

Mario Kart never needed to become open world,
and from what many have said, sounds like it doesn't suit it either.

Each new Mario Kart just needs new characters and tracks to represent the new adventure games released.

Grotesque indeed.

Just finished Alleyway on the Game Boy NSO.

I've recently myself more and more tired after work and resorting to ever simpler games to play in the evenings.

Decent fun.

So far this game looks far more thematically coherent than Odyssey to me.

There seems to be a direct relationship between how a game gets review bombed,
and how much it sells.

Lindor is clearly the best chocolate.

I reckon a Splatoon RPG could be good.

Interesting, presumably it's too substantial to merely be DLC.

Such a shame they never finished making this game.

I always wondered why they call you Stwert Shovel Hands.

How easy is it to accidentally press the buttons on the back?

None of the 40 or so university students that I teach in Japan are buying it at launch.

Make what you will of that very small sample size.

I find it hard to believe that anyone has finished every game they have on Switch 1, so the day one appeal looks limited to me.

But then I have completely disregarded human nature there.

This is an interesting kind of piece to write,
on what might be the fastest news day for Nintendo Life in several years.

I appreciate it.

I know there have been iterative Nintendo consoles before, but goodness it does look very similar to Switch 1 doesn't it?

I really enjoyed this game, but I cannot imagine ever wanting to go back to it. It's a strange one.

Perhaps I'll feel different in a few years.

Splatoon doesn't even sell as well as Mario Party.

Tour allows you to race as Poochy,
therefore it is amazing.

Continue going through my massive Switch 1 backlog.

If I were gettibg a Switch 2, I would get a 1TB and have that sorted put straight away, rather than having to fanny about with space later.
