The gameplay looks off to me,
but the fact that it's made by Namco gives me optimism.

I am glad they went with the good Dedede design rather than the ***** Dedede design.

This game just didn't look that fun to me.

Great for the fans, but seems an odd one for the Holiday period.

I consume quite a lot of peripheral commercial nonsense available now,
but then what we think we want isn't neccessarily the best thing for us.

Still the best Paper Mario for me.

In fact I might go as far to say that it's the definitive Mario adventure.

Really enjoyed the game,
but felt it was already enough.

It's interesting, because for a long time Nintendo didn't take such a direct route to profits. It's odd that it took them so long to launch a Nintendo theme park.

There was a time when they seemed to give out the Mario license to anyone, hence the weird cartoons and all manner of substandard merchandise.

But there have been decades of relative restraint between these two points in time.

Needs more Princess Peach stuff.

I hope they eventually release the other characters with their own three piece sets.

Blimey. The Sea Life Centres in the UK did a promotional event with Animal Crossing while I was in Japan, and they release this now I'm in the UK for a couple of months.
I think they're just changing the outisde world while I'm on a 'plane' a la The Truman Show.

I don't know, but if you think about it, it is the logic behind these fundraising schemes.
If you give money to a cancer charity because a celebrity has a bath in baked beans, then you should have been giving prior to that event already; cancer exists regardless of whether that celebrity has a bath in baked beans or not.
It's idiotic.

My initial reaction to that was,
if the idea is too ambitious for them to make work with a functioning camera,
then they shouldn't have pursued it.

But then, I suppose with that attitude we would never have gotten Mario 64.

I would buy second hand magazines from a small local game shop for the walkthroughs.

Seems insane now.

The problem these days is that in the race to be among the first to publish a walkthrough online, these guides understandably are quite sloppy.
What really needs to happen is that someone goes back and tidies them up a bit;
I've read walkthroughs on this site (though like I say, they're far from the only offender) that were so badly written and opaque that they actually hindered rather than helped my progress.

How I long for the sumptuous displays of game guides found in NMS.
Or perhaps I just miss being younger.
