All they should do is what they did with Mario 64 in 3d All Stars. Also I think people who say it has aged haven't actually played it. It really hasn't. The dungeons absolutely hold up. BotW and TotK basically still use its Z targeting. Also the world and characters are so vibrant and full of life. The only thing about it that is antiquated is that it is an absolutely complete package of a game that is still extremely fun to play. Something that is increasingly not true for most AAA games.

I sure love how they've already normalized not waiting to the end of a system's life before shutting down online services for games. I sure love the all digital future. Remember when games were complete packages you used to have to buy physically and then own forever? How did we manage?

Microsoft has been the chief engineer of making gaming worse. Charging for online play, releasing untested and fatally flawed hardware, adding microtransactions and loot boxes to first party games, essentially eliminating Rare Ware from the industry as a developer. If Microsoft ever buys Nintendo, gaming will be dead.

I think Microsoft acquiring Nintendo would actually kill the industry. It would be catastrophically awful.

It still comes off as them firing him and giving him this nebulous "ambassador" role (which seems to just be him going to conventions like he was anyway) to keep the fans from being outraged.

@Not_Soos I think it's along those lines. And they don't care about him really. I think the "ambassador" title is to keep the fans from raging about his departure. I doubt they care much about his feelings.

Total speculation on my part. I get the feeling Nintendo ditched Charles 100%. Don't know why. Maybe they feel he's too old or they want to pay someone else much less. I don't know. But the "ambassador" gig they gave him feels like it's nothing more than a PR move to save face and keep the fans from outrage.

@AJWolfTill I said exactly what I meant. Ubisoft hasn't made a single game worth a purchase since Rayman Legends came out. The two Mario rabid games being the only exceptions. After Rayman Legends, Ubisoft seems to have decided making real video games just isn't worth the hassle. It's a real shame.

@John_Deacon Hopefully. That would set it up perfectly for Prime 3 HD being next Winter/Spring and then hopefully, though not likely, Prime 4 would be next holiday season. Maybe it'd be Nov 1 of '24. Make a good enjoyable weekend before the world ends the following Tuesday.

OG all day. But the 3d version is basically a perfect Hard Mode of the game if that's what you're interested in. I prefer the original pixel look and definitely prefer the original SNES and Pixel Remaster versions of the music to the DS version. In my opinion the music by far the weakest part of the DS one. But if you want more of a challenge the DS version is perfect for that.
