Nintendo isn't stupid. They priced in the global economic uncertainty that everyone knew was coming. And it looks like they made the absolute right call. If people are upset at prices, the mid terms are in a year and a half. Until then. Buckle down folks.
They want you to pay for this. They want you to pay for Switch 2 upgrades. They want you to pay for everything except buying Gamecube games individually. The one thing I actually WANT to pay for.
Why are people saying Smash Ultimate? It already runs at 60fps almost flawlessly. We need some of the games that chug to get upgraded. Not ones that already run well.
@Jam777 True. I think that's why I never really had a problem with the framerate for Echoes of Wisdom. Like bro I played BotW on Wii U. Ain't anything gonna be worse than that. Still loved it by the way.
Also totally unrelated to anything but the vibe on this website compared to Push Square is night and day. Over here people talking about all of the games they love and why they love them. And on Push Square they talk about how AI replacing game developers is somehow a good thing. We know where the real gamers at.
I voted for Metroid Prime 4. It's the only game that has been consistently on my mind for the entire existence of the Switch. So really it just has to win.
I got my old Wii hooked up with the Virtual Console version on it. If they don't announce an HD 2D remake of it this year I'm gonna go through it on my Wii. I'm due for a replay.
I just want creative developers to makes games. So I'm happy for them to do whatever they want. I cannot believe how many people on the Sony sister site are okay with Sony's leaked AI NPC slop. I still want creativity. And Kamiya is one of the GOATs.
@sketchturner Honestly between Split Fiction and Astro Bot a PS5 might be worth it now. I just got one like a month ago and Astro Bot alone made me happy with the purchase.
Oh please. Like there was any doubt. Nintendo gets to make plastic figures that cost 50c to make and sell them at $20 a piece. And people buy them in droves. Of course it's coming back.
@MrCarlos46 Well he already started one with China a month ago. And by all accounts the EU is probably not far from his crosshairs. He's already threatened Japan. Honestly Russia is about the only country he hasn't threatened with tariffs at this point.
@MrCarlos46 So. I don't really know how to answer that because I don't think even he knows why he wants them. He's complained that trade deficits are like the US subsidizing other countries. Obviously that doesn't make sense. Trade is inherently something that benefits both parties. If anything trade deficits might help the US. We get useful things from other countries and all we really give them in return are greenback paper bills. He obviously seems to know that foreign countries don't pay tariffs since he warned Americans that times will be tough. He's also said he's using them to get concessions from other countries. But that doesn't really make a lot of sense either since the complaints he's had about Canada basically don't exist. He's complained about drugs and criminals coming into the US from Canada but actually way more drugs and criminals get into Canada from the US than the other way around. So honestly I think he kinda just likes to trip on power and enjoys being disruptive. That last bit is my personal speculation but honestly your guess is as good as mine.
@jojobar More specifically. Trade deficits aren't necessarily a bad thing anyway. In fact it's really beneficial to the US that we get cheap crap from China. Instead of manufacturing $9 bedside lamps or $8 HDMI cords we manufacture stuff like complex aerospace and biomedical science technologies.
@RainbowGazelle If publishers don't find it profitable to make physical games for the biggest market (the US) it might very well not be worth the cost to produce them at all. We live in a global economy. A disturbance in one area can have cascading effects across the rest of the World.
I don't play NSO games out of principle. Let me buy them. I knew right away games would be delisted. And I've been completely proven right. If I want to play an old Nintendo game I play it on my Wii or Wii U. Because I bought them, own them, and can still play them. I will never pay for a subscription service for games. Period.
@-wc- It is against the rules to do so. But mostly it doesn’t seem to be enforced with draconian strictness. I think people posting links to things is mostly what is frowned upon.
@batmanbud2 True they would never delist or make any of their good games unplayable. Like Mario 3D All Stars, Pacman 99, Mario 35. They would never allow those games to be delisted or shutdown. I'm not worried about the future either.
Not NSO. Donkey Kong Country Returns is selling like hotcakes. Making that part of a subscription service would be leaving so much money on the table. Also I still like owning games so I can play them after the services shut down.
Nintendo lost two console generations on the choice of storage mediums. The N64 and Gamecube. Both great systems with plenty of power. Done in by Nintendo's insistence on use of proprietary storage mediums. I'm glad we're at the point where actual storage space is no longer an issue regardless of cart or disc.
@Coalescence "because other companies now prefer to sell their own collection packs." So other companies find it profitable to sell their old games. But somehow it wouldn't be for Nintendo?
@Emperor-Palpsy The reason we look back with rose tinted glasses is that we can still play our Wii and Wii U virtual console games we bought to this very day. In fact I was playing Duck Hunt earlier today on my Wii U with my nephew. Now tell me. How's Pacman 99 been doing? What about Mario 35? That's the future of NSO.

Re: GameCube Games On Switch 2 Will Support An Optional CRT Filter
@KayFiOS Yup. And Wind Waker HD is always going to remain a Wii U exclusive. For some reason.
Re: GameCube Games On Switch 2 Will Support An Optional CRT Filter
Have fun playing the old slow version of Wind Waker with your CRT filter. I'm gonna be cruising with the Swift Sail on my Wii U.
Re: Nintendo Is (Kinda) Returning To Region-Locking With A Cheaper Japanese Switch 2
Wow. The version that has to be imported into the US is more expensive for some reason. I wonder why that might be?
Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
Complaining about Nintendo game prices when the cost of literally everything is about to go up in the US at midnight is funny.
Re: Nintendo Expects You To Pay For Its Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" User Guide
They want you to pay for this. They want you to pay for Switch 2 upgrades. They want you to pay for everything except buying Gamecube games individually. The one thing I actually WANT to pay for.
Re: GameCube Games Confirmed For Nintendo Switch Online On Switch 2
@Lizuka Wii U: Buy the best version of Wind Waker once and play it forever.
Switch 2: Pay forever for the not best version of Wind Waker and play it until the service shuts down.
Wii U > Switch 2
Re: GameCube Games Confirmed For Nintendo Switch Online On Switch 2
I just want to be able to buy them individually......
Re: Rumour: GameCube Revival Planned For Nintendo Switch Online
I just want to buy them individually. Please. Why can't I have the choice?

Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"
@kereke12 It'll launch with a Mario Kart and 3D Mario in the launch window. It'll do fine at worst.
Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"
It was going to be $400 until tariff uncertainty raised it to $450.

Honestly. Unless Nintendo sells at a loss I don't see how on Earth it will retail for less than $450.

Wii U Virtual Console game delisted: Can still play it today.
NSO game delisted: Cannot still play it today.
See the difference?

@PinballBuzzbro So. In the problem with it was that it used cartridges.

@Axecon I can't believe how huge the file sizes for PS4 and PS5 games are compared to Switch games.

@Dee123 "Long live NSO." Just like Pacman 99. And Mario 35. And Wii, DS, 3DS, and Wii U online service. So 12ish years if you're lucky.
