@stache13 Also the current model where you have to sell copies of the game you make are what leads to quality games Like Zelda and such. It is not sustainable to spend 6 years meticulously crafting a Zelda game just to release it to a service everyone is already subscribed to anyway. A Zelda game selling millions of copies makes that model viable though.

If games ever go full subscription, I will actually stop gaming. Full stop.

To be honest though gamers actually do need to go outside and get some fresh air. Feelings of Isolation and loneliness are at an all time high. And the rise in those feelings just happens to coincide with the rise of gaming and the internet. That's not a mere coincidence. People gotta go out and interact with other people more. In the real world. Shared love of games can even be a catalyst for making new friends. But people gotta go out and make it happen. Gaming is a fun hobby but like anything it still has to be engaged with in a healthy way.

Nintendo gonna pull a switcheroo and release the Wii U 2. Only this time the gamepad will be like to the Virtual Boy where you gotta put it up to your eyes like goggles to use it.

I think with the grunts and wahoos he sounds pretty good. I still think it sounds really off when he says actual words though. But he's the voice until Nintendo replaces him someday. He's not bad and Wonder was still a fantastic game. I'm sure I'll get more used to it as time goes on. But Martinet will always be the OG and will always have my heart.

@jamesthemagi My Wii U is loaded with Virtual Console titles. That will be my preferred way of playing their legacy content until I can hopefully purchase them on newer hardware someday.

I predict they'll bring back real Virtual Console so people can actually buy their games. Also they'll release Mother 3 in the west.

I'm genuinely curious. Is any living human actually looking forward to art being produced by AI? Art is one of the most important connections humans have with each other. And it's an incredibly important and fulfilling way to communicate with each other. If AI is where movies, books, and video games come from in the future. Who will actually even want to consume that "content?"

I’ve come around on this issue. Back in the AM2R days I was staunchly against Nintendo’s takedowns. I’m not anymore. Nintendo is one of the few remaining publishers of real video games who haven’t jumped full on to the live service model. If protecting their IP helps them continue to make good games, so be it.

E3 is dead. And possibly not too long behind it is the gaming industry. Nintendo is the last hope for the survival of real video games. Don't fail us big N.

If you're gonna keep the open world can you at least make big Twilight Princess style dungeons? And more than 4 of them? I feel like that would go a long way to placate the "old school" fans.

Skip the reveals and trailers and keep it focused on being an award show.

Skip all the embarrassing shill game reveals and keep the devs at the center of the awards show. Let them give their speeches. It isn't like the Oscars where celebrities rant about the benefits of raw milk or whatever. Once we get to that point we can cut them off. But until then let them speak. @Shade_Koopa Move on to the wonderful world of The Wii U eshop. Where it literally becomes impossible to access games once storefronts close. And the world of Pac-Man 99, Mario 35, and Friday the 13th the Game. Where games literally just stop being playable. Are you really shocked a large chunk of people don't want to move on? The early data has not been reassuring about the all digital future.

@StarPoint I’ll never pay for subscriptions for games. If I can’t buy them physically or at least download them to preserve them after the servers shut off. I will actually stop gaming.

@Paulo Also the Wii U was still under the stewardship of the late great Iwata. Nintendo just seemed to genuinely care about their customers under his leadership. Can you imagine them doing something like the 3ds ambassador program today? I can't.

My Wii U is my most precious gaming possession. I am absolutely against paying subscription services for games I don't get to keep. So it's the only way I can play Nintendo's old games. It's an absolute treasure trove of classics. If I had to choose between keeping my Wii U or Switch. It'd be my Wii U in an instant.

The water temple is easily in my top 5 favorite dungeons in the series. I absolutely love it. It's amazing to me that they came up with such an intricately designed dungeon in their first crack at a 3d Zelda game.

I want another new 2d Zelda. This one slapped.
