Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

Toadie

Looking forward to receiving this on friday, i'm not usually into sports games but enjoyed the demo a few weeks back and am looking forward to playing through the story mode, i just need to try and finish DOOM first lol

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's E3 2018 Went Big On Smash Bros. But Left Us Wanting More

Toadie

@Wanjia i agree, there's a big (first-party) gap between Mario Tennis Aces and Pokemon, maybe it will be still be filled by something that hasn't been announced yet but it's looking increasingly unlikely.

Personally i am just gutted we didn't get Pikmin 4 and the Prime Trilogy in HD for this year, those alone would have been enough for me, even more frustrating when we heard the former was almost complete so many years ago, makes you wonder if its being totally redesigned or something ?

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's E3 2018 Went Big On Smash Bros. But Left Us Wanting More

Toadie

It is frustrating to see people calling others entitled or spoilt for simply being disappointed, can you blame people for naturally expecting updates for already announced games ? (Prime 4, Pokemon, Bayo 3, SMT, Yoshi, Pikmin 4) or those heavily hinted at (Animal Crossing, Wave Race).

Heck it's been over four years since we heard from Retro Studios, they are my fave devs in the industry, am i entitled to really want to hear what they are working on ?

The Switch is over a year old and we still don't have simple things like folders, e-shop music, youtube or internet apps.

If you're happy with Smash great, i'm glad for you but it doesn't make others frustrations or disappointment unjustified or unwarranted, just my two cents.

Re: Review: Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers (3DS)

Toadie

I've got a feeling this game will have quite a limited print run here in Europe and could well end up being rare down the line, games coming out at the end of a console's life-span often do. I still haven't played the first one yet but think i'll get this pretty soon just in case i am right lol Love how it looks

Re: Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong And Super Mario Maker On 3DS Join The European 'Selects' Range

Toadie

If anyone hasn't bought DK Returns yet i highly recommend it, an incredible game that's even better on the 3DS, with a great 3D effect and no annoying waggle controls, i wish Nintendo had carried on releasing more Wii ports for the 3DS, Excite Truck, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Endless Ocean etc would have been great additions to its library. Heck even N64 ports of Paper Mario and F-Zero X would be great too, i love the 3DS so much

Re: Rumour: Retro Studios Is Working On A Secret Star Fox: Grand Prix Title For Switch

Toadie

Hmmm even though i like the sound of this and really want Starfox to become a more popular franchise i'm not convinced this is true, all reports in the last few years have said Retro are working on a story-driven game, why would they have employed a story-writer who worked on Uncharted just for a racing game ?

There's always the possibility they've been working on two games all these years though, they are a large studio after all, they also helped out on Mario Kart 7 so who knows ?.....

Re: Grezzo Is Handling The Luigi’s Mansion Port For 3DS

Toadie

I cannot wait for this, it's fitting that the game will finally be in 3D after it was one of Nintendo's first experiments with the effect way back when.

I'm surprised to see the negative comments about Dark Moon though, for me it's an incredible game and one of the best on the 3DS.

I really hope this means Next Level Games are working on a third game for the Switch, just imagine how good it could look and how great the animations could be with the power of the Switch !! E3 can't come soon enough ! lol

Re: Feature: The Biggest Retail Games Hitting Nintendo Switch This Spring

Toadie

I also think Nintendo has many unannounced, brand new Switch games to be revealed for this year, we know about Smash, Metroid, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Yoshi and Pikmin already, then there are hints of new DK and Wario games plus whatever Retro is working on, and i'm sure they have more in the pipeline too so i wouldn't worry about all the ports lol

Re: Feature: The Biggest Retail Games Hitting Nintendo Switch This Spring

Toadie

Damn, i've just wrote a list of all the Switch games i want in the coming months -

Hyrule Warriors Complete
DK Tropical Freeze
Captain Toad
Okami HD
Mario Tennis Aces
Dark Souls Remastered
Ys VIII
De Blob/De Blob 2
Legend of Kay Anniversary
Megaman Legacy 1/2
Megaman X (whenever it launches)
Octopath Traveller
Owlboy
Wolfenstein II
Little Nightmares Complete
South Park:TFBH

How the hell am i going to afford them all ? !! lol

and yes i know there's a lot of ports but for me they are very welcome, i didn't get around to playing some of the Wii U games (i'm ashamed to say i did buy them all at launch but they fell straight into my backlog haha).
There's also some games like Kay and Okami that i played originally and loved and i am over the moon to be able to play them again on the newest hardware, so while i can see why some people get frustrated with too many ports, i personally welcome them with open arms

Re: Video: We Feel these Top Ten Characters Deserve to Be in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch

Toadie

My top 5 picks -

Krystal from Starfox - A staff wielder is sorely needed in the roster.

Chibi-Robo - the little guy deserves another chance to establish himself as a main Nintendo character.

Paper Mario - Ditch Dr. Mario for his paper-based form, much more potential for creative moves utilising his partners from the first two games.

Ridley - As cool as Dark Samus would be, she'd almost certainly just be a clone, Ridley deserves a spot more. His size has come up as a reason why he cannot be included but Bowser is also huge so i don't see how its not achievable.

Waluigi - Just needs to happen ! lol

I'd also like to see Dillon added but he's still quite new, add him as an assist instead.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st March (Europe)

Toadie

I've just tried the Kirby demo, it's as fantastic as i knew it would be, love the new a.i friend mechanic, i can see there being some fun puzzles in the main game using it, and the graphics are beautiful, after so many portable Kirby games it's kinda weird seeing the little blob in crisp HD goodness, but a good weird haha can't wait for the game to come out now

Re: EA Has "Nothing To Announce" As Far As Burnout Paradise On Switch Is Concerned

Toadie

As has been said before, EA are an extremely lazy, cynical publisher, they also lack the basic creative desire to create fresh, new games/franchises/experiences etc that you'd think all people in the gaming industry would have ?

It's annoying too because they have some great franchises under their belt, just going unloved, i know i'd buy the Dead Space Trilogy, a new Alice game or a PvZ Garden Warfare game on Switch but they're too stupid to realise any of these would be a good idea.....

Re: Review: Centipede: Infestation (3DS)

Toadie

Really wish this had come out in Europe, i really want to play it, Moon Chronicles is another 3DS game that i wanted that never came out here, i am so glad the Switch is region-free lol

Re: The Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 Are Headed To Switch On 22nd May

Toadie

@Bass_X0 I am really glad the Switch is region free and i will be importing this and looking forward to getting it, i've only played one or two of the games before so excited to have the full collection but i don't really understand why Capcom are so against at least dipping their toes and seeing if there is an appetite for physical in Europe, they'll never know unless they try lol

But as you say, at least the option is there for me, it's just mildly annoying is all haha

Re: The Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 Are Headed To Switch On 22nd May

Toadie

I'm getting tired of Capcom not releasing physical in Europe, i will be importing the physical of this (as well as Revelations at some point) but it would be nice to just have them released here, they could at least experiment with one game to see if the interest is there, they will never know if they keep shunning the idea.

Re: Review: Rogue Trooper Redux (Switch eShop)

Toadie

Looking forward to getting this when i get some money, always meant to pick up the Wii version but never did, nice to finally have some shooters on the Switch, what with this and Doom on the way, been way too long since we had some decent ones on a Nintendo console.

Re: Poll: The Switch eShop is Hot, But Is It Time for an Overhaul of Its User Interface?

Toadie

Both the UI and the e-shop definitely do need a big upgrade now, i'm surprised we haven't heard about one by now to be honest, i would definitely like more themes and some music, maybe give us a few different choices of music (would love the Wii shop music personally) but make it optional for those who don't want it. That's the key really, give us more options for customisation, things like folders and themes to give it some much needed personality, but make them all optional.
