I hope POP will treat the series better than CiTV have, trying to follow the Sun/Moon anime on there has been unbearable, with them randomly showing a few new episodes out of nowhere and then it disappearing for months on end only to randomly show another few episodes, and repeat. I'm still waiting for the last of the Sun/Moon episodes to air, i don't see why the UK has to be so far behind the US with this show.
I would love Hal to challenge themselves to make a fully 3D Kirby platformer, it has so much potential to be amazing, i feel like they've been building up to it for a while now, they just need to go for it
Marble It Up! is the main one that springs to mind, Ultra Blast was one of the best games of the last generation but for some reason i haven't gotten around to buying its sequel yet, i'm sure it's worth the exposure a review would bring.
Other than that, Amoeba Battle and the three Secret Files games would be good too.
E3's not dead and isn't going anywhere, it's already been confirmed to return in 2021, it's the biggest and best celebration of our hobby, with even sites that don't usually report on gaming often running articles on it, why some people are so determined to see it die off is beyond me.
I went to see it last weekend with my nieces and nephew, i wasn't expecting much as i usually hate live-action versions of any animated licence but i have to give credit where it is due, i ended up thoroughly enjoying it, it's way better than it has any right to be, really. I'm pretty excited for the sequel and to see how many of the franchises characters will end up being brought into the story, it's one thing to add Tails and Knuckles, but seeing how Amy or Big would fit in is another story haha!
Pretty good list for me, especially seeing as we don't know the first party line-up for the year yet, i'm personally interested in most of the games on here bar Animal Crossing, but i'm most excited for Darksiders Genesis, the Spongebob remake and Panzer Dragoon, but very much looking forward to Doom Eternal, the Pokemon DLC, Snackworld and Minecraft Dungeons too, it's going to be a fantastic year for the Switch i think, i've got a feeling there's going to be some huge announcements for it this year
I would be very happy for Pikmin 3 to get a chance at reaching a wider audience, Pikmin is in my top 3 Nintendo franchises, just as long as its announced at the same time as Pikmin 4 of course
The other game i think is Starfox Zero, of all the Wii U games left to port it has the most to gain from a re-release, ditch the forced motion controls, spruce up the graphics, give it online multiplayer and then bundle it up with Guard and the animated movie that released at the same time as the game and that's a nice little package i feel, and would hopefully do well so the series can continue.
These games would also tie in to Miyamoto stating he wanted to do something to make Pikmin and Starfox more popular franchises.
I'm looking forward to seeing Detective Pikachu 2 but whether its ready for a first tease or not i don't know, other than that i'd like to think Pokemon Home will be free for NSO subscribers, that would be a nice way to add to its value.
Whilst no means a bad amount, i do wish Luigi's Mansion 3 was selling more in Japan, it deserves to break a million at least, fortunately it seems to be selling much better everywhere else in the world, it's doing really well in the UK surprisingly, which i'm so happy to see.
Pikmin 4, i want that more than anything else at this point (probably because Metroid Prime 4 has already been announced) but Paper Mario is due a new game too and after enjoying Colour Splash more than i was expecting to, i'm really curious to see if they bring the series back to its roots or continue to experiment with it.
If i'm really clutching at straws, Battalion Wars 3 would be ace, but is extremely unlikely, sadly
Seems it's a real mixed bag, i'm looking forward to playing through it, i've avoided the spoilers so i'm genuinely excited to experience most of the new 'mon myself, a lot of the negatives mentioned i'm not too bothered about, the graphics for example, and the linear paths are something i quite like, i get bored of open worlds, it'll be a nice change of pace to all the open world games out there nowadays.
One thing i absolutely hate though is that the Pokemon STILL don't speak their own names, it's ridiculous that we still have the ancient gameboy sound-bites, why on earth they won't fix this i have no idea, but it's my biggest bug bear with the series, even more than dexit tbh.
@Quarth No Europe isn't getting this sadly, i will be importing it like i had to do for the other RE Collections and Megaman 11, i don't understand why Capcom keep leaving Europe out, it's annoying.
Fantastic to hear that Luigi's Mansion 3 is selling so well, i adore the series so much, hopefully this will mean we won't have to wait so long for a fourth iteration, unlike the wait for Pikmin 4 lol
@Efergan I would love Project Zoo to get a re-release too, also Curse of the Ware-rabbit and the Telltale episodic adventure game, any chance on revivals on those ?
@EvaEeveeFan No sarcasm at all, maybe ask yourself why people are reacting to your comments the way they are, do you think using terms like 'chav' 'stupid' and 'meathead' aren't abusive ? If you can't take it, don't dish it out, this website is not the place to air your grievances with the UK, or people who choose to buy products by any company that isn't Nintendo.
Wow, you have a chip on your shoulder ! Talk about a superiority complex, i don't like Fifa any more than you do but i'd never insult people who enjoy it, or an entire country for that matter, for having different tastes to me.
No one comes on here to see abusive comments about their nationality or their gaming preferences, the sooner you are banned from this site the better, you are utterly vile, and i don't care whether you have autism or not, you need to learn how to tolerate other people and act in a civil manner !
This is terrible news, i love Alphadream's games, i really, really hope Nintendo steps in and buys them out, but they didn't when CiNG went bankrupt so i'm not hopeful, would be a real shame if this was the end of Mario RPGs.
Hmm i found some enjoyment from the demo......on PS4. I tried the Switch demo too, both docked and portable, and it looks appalling in both modes but on PS4 it looks slightly better, still looks like a PS2 era game but i kinda like that personally, i will get it on the PS4 when its on sale at some point, which probably won't take too long lol
I guess with Galar being based on the UK, it's appropriate for Farfetch'd to get an evolution (the leek is a Welsh symbol for anyone that doesn't know) i can't say i'm mad on it's design though, kinda wish it at least kept the same colouring of Farfetch'd, ah well, you can't like every design, i'm still loving Weezing's Galar form so swings and roundabouts as they say
@SoIDecidedTo I loved the speaker too, it added a lot to the immersion in games, hearing Link shooting an arrow in the controller, then hearing it hit it's target on the tv, was (and still is) impressive to me, little touches like that can really add to a game.
Yep i'll grab HarmoKnight too now, i've actually used quite a lot of these deals lately, there's still quite a lot of e-shop and VC games on the 3DS i haven't bought yet so they've been handy for me.
Shame it had to happen in the worst series so far, his Alola team isn't even that good, compared to his Unova or Kalos teams, but then with the league being brand new i guess that makes it easier to win ?
If Ash doesn't get the boot next series, it would be cool to see him try and defend his title seeing as all regions will be featured next series, he'll probably lose though lol
This is good and bad at the same time for me as i do like Ubisoft's open-world games more than most other company's but i really prefer linear game design to a vast open world, and i hate how linear games are now seen as a negative thing.
I also really want a return for Rayman, Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, i don't see why they can't produce smaller, more linear games at the same time as these huge open-world epics, sooner or later i think the open-world bubble will burst and we'll hopefully see linear games making a resurgence as i will always prefer that style of game to an open world.
Metroid Prime will always be the GC's crowning game for me, nothing else comes close to the magic of that game.
I can't see any other console beating the Gamecube as my fave console ever, it has so many of my fave entries in my fave series from Sunshine, Double Dash, Wind Waker, TTYD. Resi 4, Pikmin 2, i could go on, i think it's a shame Battalion Wars, XIII and Metal Arms didn't make the top 50 though, they definitely deserve to be there.
@Anti-Matter Yes i struggled at first too as i didn't realise you could equip the bots (i played solo too) you can actually equip all three of them, they helped me quite a lot, there's one level near the end of the game where you need to carry three items back to your ship, they will carry it for you so you can concentrate on shooting the enemies
I have Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers but i haven't played it yet as i want to play the first two Dillon games before it.
@Darknyht I hope i'm not mistaken and people think i'm trying to say he is wrong to have the approach he has, more that i'm just curious by how rigidly he sticks to it, and i just wonder if there's any games out there that could test his stance and make him find a game he enjoys despite how he thinks ? there must be one out there somewhere, maybe Psychonauts ? lol
I realise i'm never going to change your ways (and i'm not even trying to really ) but i'm gonna reply anyway haha -
The definition of great games is how well they're made, regardless of what console/genre/art-style/age group they represent. I used to only play cartoon-ish games myself right up until my teenage years as i thought they were all i liked, i'm so glad that by trying Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime etc thanks to their amazing reviews it widened my horizons and made me more willing to go outside my comfort zone, it made me find my favourite franchise ever in Metroid but also to discover gems like Ico and Batman Arkham Asylum that i previously wouldn't have bought.
Having said all that there are still some genres i just can't get into, like beat-em-ups and racing sims but we can't all like everything, i just think there probably are some games out there that you 100% believe you wouldn't like, that you would surprise yourself if you ever tried them, but i guess we'll never find out either way haha
@Anti-Matter I think we all know this by now, you post it about a thousand times a week lol
You're missing some great games by the way, winding down with a cutesy platformer after playing an intense horror game for instance is a great feeling, one i'm guessing you'll never experience lol
On the one hand it's a shame that Galar won't get it's full time in the spotlight (especially as it's set in the UK) as someone else said, it's probably so they don't have to hire lots of british voice actors lol
This could also be really interesting though, the anime definitely needs a shot in the arm, the last two series have been rubbish in my opinion, this has the potential to be great if they have Ash regularly rotating his team from all the different regions. I would love for Jessie and James to find/reclaim Arbok and Weezing when they go back to Hoenn and dare i even dream it, for Ash to finally go back and find his Pidgeot and Primeape, but that will never happen haha
One other thing i'm wondering, i always thought the reason why supporting characters always caught so few Pokemon each series was so that they didn't have to animate too many 'mon, won't this plan create a huge workload for the animators ?
The GameCube is my fave console of all time so this was an easy poll for me, Metroid Prime is the best game on the console imo but i could write a long list of gems as Nintendo were on fire this gen but some of my personal faves are Battalion Wars, Pokemon Colosseum, Megaman X Command Mission (an amazing JRPG) Chibi Robo, I Ninja, Bomberman Generation, Tales of Symphonia, Pacman World 3, Billy Hatcher and of course, Paper Mario:TTYD. Despite the hate it gets Mario Sunshine is still my fave 3D Mario platformer to this day, and Double Dash my fave Mario Kart, the GC really was a golden era of first-party titles, giving birth to one of my favourite Nintendo franchises, Pikmin.
Also, Metal Arms:A Glitch in the System is a total hidden gem, an absolutely awesome third-person shooter, i highly recommend it to anyone still collecting GC games
I'll be so glad to leave the Sun/Moon anime behind, it's been the worst one so far for me, Unova's season gets a lot of hate but it was miles better than the last two seasons, i hope the next series returns to Ash catching more Pokemon, he's not even had a full team for the last two seasons, i really liked that he caught more in Unova and switched them out regularly, a return to this style would be very welcome.

Captain Toad for £12.99
Poochy/Yoshi's Woolly World for £12.99
Yokai Watch Blasters for £19.99
